And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Thirst for life Empty Thirst for life

Post by Silvyr Svan Sat Aug 04, 2012 1:47 am

Silvyr's eyes cracked open barely enough to take in the light that was shining on the wall beside his bed. The pain seared deep into the back of his head before he could shut them. He began to think to himself but even the silent thoughts in his own mind sent pain through his skull.

Silvyr moved his leg wondering if he had gained any strength back from his rest. He quickly knew the answer from the fatigue he felt from the twitch of his leg. Which again brought him to wonder how long he had been unconscious. It had felt like only seconds ago he was looking over the ocean on the southern cost of Spain. He felt the familiar weight on the bed beside his left leg. Leah's body was warm. Shallow intakes of air could be heard coming from his feet but he didn't look up. Silvyr couldn't bare the pain of the light once again.

Muffled voices sounded from outside of the room Silvyr now found himself in. The door swung open and cool air rushed into the room. Silvyr was anxious to find out who was disturbing him.... and who had also saved his life. He was grateful but he had no intentions of showing that to someone who he knew nothing about, nor had spoken to in months.

Silvyr kept his body still and remained silent as to appear asleep to whoever had come into the room. He still didn't count out the risk of someone coming to claim his life, or worse, being taken to Azkaban. The last time he had been in London, he and Whight had abducted and killed the man responsible for hurting Whights mother.

(can we say this is after he was healed and after the Order meeting? Since Jack can't be in 2 places at once. XD)

Jack had swung by and had been told to wait until Silvyr had been given some time to let the treatments take effect. A healer motioned her and Jack took it as leave to enter the room. She had no real connection to Silvyr, unless you counted her recruiting him. That meant this was another person she felt responsible for. Maybe not to as great an extent as the others, but enough.

She entered, still in the pajamas and long overcoat she had worn to the Order meeting. She entered, knocking her knuckles against the door to waken him to her presence. "Hey Silvyr. How you doing?"

The sheets covering Silvyr's cold moist body clung to the sweat pouring from his skin as they moved from Whight instinctively grabbing for his wand which wasn't by his side and Leah jumping from the bed stopping the intruder from coming to closer into the room. A cold shiver ran down his spine when he heard the woman's voice, though it was coincidental, due to a knew pain stinging deep in one of his vertebra.

Silvyr remembered the woman's face, which he was internally grateful for. He could keep his eyes closed for the remainder of their convo if necessary. Her presence surprised him. In the entire time he'd known the woman she'd never been one to make a house call. Guessing by her friendly tone, she wasn't there to interrogate him about his months of being absent from the Order at least he hoped not.

The sound of his own voice surprised Silvyr greatly when his choppy slow words left his mouth, "Leah, she's a friend." He said to the wolf only doing what he could to calm her. He switched his attention to Jack who he guessed was standing right on the inside of the door.

"At least I hope that's still true, Jack." Silvyr said again moving his head to look in her general direction though keeping his eyes closed. The decision was necessary but painful. Silvyr continued speaking even though he wanted nothing more than to pass out again, "If you don't mind me knowing please explain why you're here. I never took you for the visiting type." Silvyr said with as much of a smile as he could muster.

Another shot of pain dug into his head. He could only bare it like he had for months before but it had never hurt this bad before. 'What the hell is wrong with me.' he said to himself.

His huge dog immediately jumped to attention. Jack was Head of the Control and Regulation of Magical Creatures- she knew a dog trained to guard when she saw one. Flattened ears, hackles raised, eyes steady, neck low. Jack did not lock eyes with the dog, but dipped her head submissively.

Silvyr called the dog off and Jack raised a palm towards the dog, allowing her to lean forward to sniff her if the dog wished. She approached a little, moving from the dog until she was as the foot of Silvy'rs bed. He asked her purpose. She shrugged. "You show up to a meeting and collapse. Someone needs to make sure you're alive, and who better than the one that took you to your first meeting?" She blinked. "Funny though, I was going to ask the same- what are you doing here? What's the problem?"

Thirst for life Empty Re: Thirst for life

Silvyr's partial smile began to diminish on his face before he could keep his emotions in check. Even if his mind was week he still knew no one but the Lord that had sent him on his trip to the depths of the ancient wizarding world could possibly break through his occlumens. He was angry that his mission had been cut short due to the illness that had slowly been eating away at his body for months. His 'Lord' wouldn't be happy with his failure though he knew that he was worthless to either side if he died while pursuing the knowledge of lost spell creation.

He quickly spoke to cover the instinctive control his emotions had over his face. "I had no where else to go. My bodies symptoms have grown worse over the past two months. At first I thought nothing of the minor head cold and itchy skin being that I spend most of my time in the forest and it is a common occurrence to fall asleep with a patch of itchy skin on an arm or leg. But with each passing day my symptoms never diminished. They have only continued to progress through the miserable days and nights." A horrible cough passed through Silvyr's dry wraspy throat sounding as if the air was ripping the skin that sat within his esophagus.

In seconds the terrible itch within his throat passed as unexpectedly as it had come. Silvyr breathed slowly allowing his empty lunges to fill again before continuing. "The order was my only option to get into the city quick enough and without being captured by a death eater looking to take out a wounded Order member. I never expected anyone to be there but I suppose I should be grateful you all were."

Jack had learned the art if listening without judgement, for it was a trait she wished all she came into contact with to have. Perhaps if she embodied the characteristic, those who occupied so much of her time and effort would adopt it for themselves. So Jack listened with patience and without any sort of bias to Silvyr's explanation as to how he had come to collapse in Number Four Grimmauld Place.

As he finished Jack smiled. "Well that's one way to answer a question. Only halfway." She smiled knowingly and pulled a chair to Silvyr's bed. "You have explained your illness for two months and your need to get to the Order at the end of the months. But meetings have come and gone in that time, and gone without you. I can't be the only one to be wondering what occupied your time, but I'm probably the only one who would not disclose that information with the others."

Thirst for life Empty Re: Thirst for life

Post by Silvyr Svan Mon Aug 06, 2012 5:03 am

Jack's tone took Silvyr by surprise again as she showed a uncharacteristic sense of kindness. He knew that was what her first question had been hunting for though he knew all to well why Jess would send in someone he believed Silvyr may trust. Of course a large absence wouldn't have gone unnoticed but it was a price he had to pay. He spoke softly, "Promise not to tell?"

Silvyr's eyes squinted open for the first time since Jack had entered. He looked at the woman who was now sitting next to his bed staring into his eyes. She looked determined as always and her red hair surrounded her face making it hard to not recognize her raw beauty. Silvyr's eyes never moved as he spoke again, this time with a slight hint of more force, "I was searching for a family member. He died a very long time ago but he was my mothers great grand father. I was hoping to find where his body was rested as to find out more about my families history. I don't see how my absence is of much importance to the Order any longer. When I left the wizarding world was slipping into some kind of phony peace idea. I mean don't get me wrong, I do understand that I am apart of the Order but that doesn't mean I must give anyone tabs of where I am nor does it mean that I am restrained from leaving the city. I respect our cause but I will not be caged." his last words coming out slow and with true meaning. Silvyr wanted to see the world made right once again but some prices he would not pay for others.

Silvyr closed his eyes once more and rested his head on the pillow. Without giving Jack a chance to respond he spoke again, "When I left I would have given my life and proved this by being one of the wizards who fought against Grindelwald. So are you really here to inter-agate me, which hardly seems necessary, or are you here to bring me up to speed? And if I may sway your answer slightly, I was really hoping that it wasn't the first choice. "

He asked her if she promised not to tell and she nodded, saying, "Yes." Jack wanted to know for her own information. She was true to promises, she did not lie. Even if it was important to the Order, she would take it as her own responsibilities to bear any repercussions from the secrets rather than reveal them in any manner. Jack was always true.

He opened his eyes and she held his gaze, her emerald eyes betraying the intelligence so many people overlooked. Jack understood things. She might not have been raised in the wizarding world, and she was not a brain surgeon, but she understood the inner workings of the world. If the girl could create her own fireworks, she had to be more than a rash simpleton with a lot of nerve.

He went on a long winded explanation and Jack listened. She could have, at times, reassured him. She, too, had loyalties that lie past the name of the Order. There were some who she would never betray, regardless of their affiliation. She did not stick by the book as far as loyalty to the Order went. But he did not wait for reassurance.

When all was said and done, Jack said, in the quiet of the hospital room, "I've come on my own accord. I came to assist a wounded peer, not for any other motive. I have my questions answered, and now I can assist you through catching you up."

She sat up, thinking. "Grindelwald is gone. Presumed dead. James Roland was accused of aiding him, but Jess and Robert's names came up too. Jess is gone, presumed ill with the same thing you have, but we're not sure. Matt's taken his place in the meantime and..." She smiled grimly. "That's it. We're not the most efficient with our time, you know."

Thirst for life Empty Re: Thirst for life

Post by Silvyr Svan Tue Aug 07, 2012 12:59 am

The news of two of the most influential Order members being accused of treason came as a shock to Silvyr making him think twice about going any deeper into this conversation with Jack. But she had always been a loner like him. You didn't cross her. He had understood early on that it was best to let her do what made her happy and to stay out of her way. He pondered the idea of Jess actually feeding information to the piece of shit Grindelwald. The thought made him sick but then again so had all the times he had had to listen to the whining of old men and women surrounding the Order's table. He could see why Jess would have done it.

Silvyr smirked, "Yeah I picked up that the Order was a slow moving bunch pretty fast. Does this Matt fellow have a clue about what he's doing? Or is he like most other peace leaders. Believing that all he has to do is help with the moral of the Order members. Please tell me he's not trying to keep everyone occupied?"

If there was anything Silvyr hated the most in life, busy work could easily take the crown.

Silvyr asked about the Order and Jack paused. Personal issues battled deep in her gut. She got along with Matt and had no reason not to dislike him. And yet, ever since the day he and Poe had shown up from their little free-falling incident, she had been wary of Matt. She couldn't explain why, but his connection to Poe made her nervous, made her angry, and maybe even...

No. The j-word didn't exist to Jack.

"I honestly don't know. Matt's been indisposed awhile, so I don't know how well he knows what is going on. However, he seems crafty, and he's not like some of the others. He's been on the other side of the tracks, you could say. I don't know what his plans are, or if he's even permanent. Jess may return sooner than expected. It's all up in the air."
