Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Time for a drink Empty Time for a drink

Post by Evangeline Flaherty Fri Jan 13, 2012 4:28 am

Calista walks into the Leaky Cauldron after a gruesome afternoon at her farm and having to deal with two pregnant horses. The horses were getting more restless than she was, they were constantly kicking their hooves into the walls and neighing. She had just finally got them calmed down and comfortable for the time being until they find something else they don't like about their vastly large stall that could fit five horses easily. She walks over to the bartender and orders a fire whiskey then goes to a empty booth sitting down sighing softly hoping that her sore back won't hurt for long. She relaxed into the booths seat and drank slowly from her cup hoping to not have to rush back to the barns for about another three hours.

It was a minor problem. Really.

Jack never lost control. But she had taken the new intern out and he had, in his infinite wisdom, let go of the Crup they were supposed to be delivering back to his owner. The Crup had been on trial for attacking a man, but it had turned out the man had been intruding, so all's well that end's well. Unfortunately, that was not true when a stupid intern dropped the wriggling Crup.

The little jack russel took off running, his forked tail wagging, and he dodged into the Leaky Cauldron, slipping through the gate from Diagon Alley. Jack ran in after in time to see the Crup jump up onto a table and leap onto a woman, licking her face. Jack grabbed her intern, Jamison, and dragged him with her over to the woman, intending on fixing this.

Jack scooped up the dog and said, "I'm sorry. It's this idiot's first day on the job and he's never held a dog before apparently. You're okay, right?"

Calista laughed when the dog jumped on the table and began licking her face, "Yes I'm perfectly fine, the poor thing just startled me that's all." She looked up at the two of them and smiled softly. "What is it that he is interning for? If i may ask." Calista asked curiously. She wondered why he would be interning for something if he didn't know how to hold a dog correctly especially one that was as small as the jack russel that the woman had in her hands.

Fortunately, the woman seemed good natured about the whole ordeal. It would have killed Jack if the woman had been upset and made a complaint to the Ministry. The paperwork for that sort of thing was what Jack considered torture, the depths of hell. Maybe she was exaggerating. But she could not help that she absolutely hated paperwork.

Grateful the woman was not upset, Jack answered her question. "I work at the Ministry. Department of Control and Regulation of Magical Creatures. This little guy was on trial and now he's returning home. Or... supposed to be."

Calista wondered what a good little dog that seemed to not cause harm to anyone, be on trial for something bad that it did. She wondered what the little dog was capable of, deciding that she didn't want to know what the poor thing had done she smiled softly at the pair of them. "Would you like a drink? you both seem like you might need one after having to chase that little guy in here." Calista said wondering if they would accept a drink or say that couldn't and left to return the dog to it's owner.

Jack had a lot of work to do, and a drink was not something she wanted her already handicapped intern to be allowed. However, this woman was being gracious and Jack did not feel like insulting her. Also, Jack needed a drink herself. She glanced at the intern, looking at him shrewdly. He obviously did not want to stick around this woman he had insulted.

"Sure, we'll stay for a drink."

She slid across from the woman and Jamison followed with a sigh. Jack dropped the Crup in his lap and Jack said, "You stay in control for the entirety of our drink, and I won't write a scathing review. Capice?" He nodded and a waitress walked by. "I'll take a Firewhiskey. And for the junior, some apple juice? Thanks." The waitress walked off and Jamison sunk low in his seat.

Calista smiled softly as she looked at the animal that the man had in his hands and wondered why it was a magical creature. "May i ask you a question about that animal you have there?" She asked softly wanting to know more about the creature who seemed to be a nice little guy. "You said u were with the Ministry of Magic and you work in the Department of Control and Regulation of Magical Creatures. I'm wondering how something that is as nice as that dog, be on trial what did the little guy do that was so bad?" Calista knew she might not get an answer to her question but she didn't know anything about a Magical Creature that looked like a dog.

Jack nodded at the woman's words. Of course she was curious; the Crup looked completely friendly and harmless. How could it be malicious in any sort of way? Jack had thought the same thing after a few moments of getting assigned to the case. Luckily, everything had been cleared and the little fella was on his way home.

"A man reported this Crup had attacked him. Once we had the trial, we found out that the man had actually been intruding into the Crup's master's house, and he had about eight witnesses against him. The dog was only doing his job, and the owner did have a 'Beware of Crup' sign, so this little guy got off scotch free." She nodded.

"That's good that he was innocent, i hope that they charged that man of something. The little guy is quite the protector of his masters home i would love to have one but with me training muggles to ride horses on the weekends it will be quite hard to do." Calista said smiling softly. "His owner is very lucky to have to such a brave little guy. I wonder though what makes him different than a normal looking dog." She looked at the little Crup and wondered what set him apart from the other dogs.

Jack nodded. "I was glad too. We had to spend a lot of time with him, the interns and myself, and he is really friendly. The man is being pursued by Aurors as we speak, so there is no problem there. If all works well, he will get quite the hefty time and some community service." Of course, it did not always work out well. The system had its flaws.

"Dealing with muggles does make owning magical creatures a bit difficult," Jack agreed, nodding along with the woman. She asked a question and Jack scooped up the dog, placing him on the table where he stood obediently, much to the distaste of the barman. "Well, as you see, he has a forked tail." She picked up the pup's tail to show her. "And they are smart as hell."
