Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. It had taken Sabriel a while to reestablish himself with Hogwarts, or -- with more specification -- the Ravenclaw community. His housemates were pleasant enough. Most generally left him alone. Classes were already in full swing, but Sabriel was a dutiful student. He didn't fall very much behind after the first few weeks. He supposed, compared to other students, he was 'smooth-sailing'. However, to Sabriel, each mark off. Anything less than 100%, were failures on his part.

And this was why he currently resided in Hogwart's library, perched beside a peculiarly glassless window.

Sabriel was a slight youth. No more than 5'5. His eyes, as gray as a winter sky, were framed by long lashes. His eyes, however, were not fully responsible for his utterly feminine appearance. The main culprits were his smooth jawline, high cheekbones, and long, platinum blonde hair, or, in short, his Veela blood.

The library was rather nice. Sabriel was curled up on a single chair, nibbling on a bagel he smuggled from lunch. The volume he currently possessed was thick. It was saturated with information regarding magical plants. Rows upon rows upon rows of shelves were lined with similar books, varying from purely informational to purely entertaining. The genres, of course, were marked off and assorted. Each book was divided by author. Often times, Sabriel would allow himself the pleasure of various novels. Greek mythologies. Shakespearean tales. Tall tales. And, amusingly enough, fairy tales.

Sabriel exhaled. A slight, tepid breeze passed from the window and into the library, and he gazed out over the courtyard. Students milled about down below, but the atmosphere was completely different. Their steps were swift and tense. Their eyes did not move from their feet. Sabriel soon located each villain: dark robed Death Eaters with hate in their eyes. Death Eaters. However did they get here? Whenever was Hogwarts, his only sanctuary, teeming with these monsters?

Sabriel turned back to his novel, a note of apprehension in his heart.

For the first time in a long time, Hitame felt like she was actually a part of the school again. At the ending of last year she had been distanced from Xemnas because he had been hurt by one of there friends, who had been turned evil. Then during the summer she finds out that her mother and father are alive! After thinking they were dead her entire life, they decide to show up in her life and tell her to forgive them for deceiving her her whole life. To forgive them for giving her and her sister up for adoption and for being the reason her adoptive parents were killed.

She hated them. They ruined her life from day one, and now they wanted her to forgive them. But she wasn't stupid, if she forgave them now, they would just keep ruining her life, more than it already was. Her brothers were gone and her sister was too innocent to know what is really going on so Hitame was alone in this world right now. There was nothing she could do to change the fact she was alone.

She might as well be alone for now and in the common room, or anywhere else for that matter, she would never get that. Maybe... just maybe in the library she would. So that was where she went, she went to the library, avoiding anyone who would want to distract her from where she wanted to go. She might as well try to study for something... although she doubted she would be able to get anything done. The night she was in the House in Hogsmeade was still running through her mind. Why had that man kidnapped Naomi? What would he have gained from destroying her faith. Something wasn't right and Hitame doubted that that night was the end of it.

This was all that was on her mind as she walked though the isles looking for a random book to read.

Hogwarts: 4th Floor - Library ~ This Breath of Autumn Empty Re: Hogwarts: 4th Floor - Library ~ This Breath of Autumn

Sabriel registered movement very close to him. His keen senses zeroed in on a girl. She was a scant five feet away from him, perusing through the volumes on the shelves with a distant expression. Her hair was long and black, braided over her shoulder. He recognized her, but that was as far as he was familiar with her. He did not even know her name.

Sabriel returned to his volume. A fine layer of dust still coated the thing. It made him feel ill. Softly, he sneezed, wincing as the sound came out delicate and feather-light. Nothing about him was manly at all. He found himself sighing. He grimaced when he sneezed again just moments later.

Kevin went back to the library. He was in such a bad mood. Never again will I do my homework at the lake!, he thought. So he took the wet parchment and slapped it onto a table close to the shelves piled with books. Kevin shrugged. I need some books anyway, he thought. So he walked over to a neat row of shelves and found a girl that he had seen over Summer break and recently in the Shrieking Shack. Kevin walked over to her relieved to see her. "Hi Hitame," he said to her quietly because he knew she wasn't in the mood to talk.

Kevin turned around to peer at a girl sitting at a table alone reading a dusty, old book. At least he thought it was a girl from behind. He stared at "her" for a moment. "Hmm," he said quietly. But he turned around swiftly because it seemed he had made a noise to loud and didn't want "her" to notice him. "Hey Hitame. Can you help me pick out a book?" he asked her.

It didn't take long for Hitame to realize that she wasn't alone in the library. Why would she, there was always someone there, but today everything, everywhere seemed dead. She glanced to one side of her and saw a girl, or at least she thought it was a girl. Although looks can be deceiving, she had learned that the hard way. She vaguely recognized the person, but she didn't know from where. Not like it mattered Hitame wouldn't be going near him anytime soon. She heard a soft sneeze come from the person, and she wondered about if a boy would actually sneeze like that. Some boys did but you could at least tell if they were boys, but with this one she couldn't tell at all, maybe it was a girl.

She as just about to move away from her position when she heard someone talk to her. She quickly and defensively turned around and looked down at the first year boy she had only seen twice in her life. "Hi Kevin..." she said in a distant voice and she glanced back up at the shelves to take one final look for a book she needed. She sighed when he asked her to help him and she nodded. "Sure... what are you looking for?" she asked in the nicest way possible, but it came out sounding like she was annoyed for some reason.

Hogwarts: 4th Floor - Library ~ This Breath of Autumn Empty Re: Hogwarts: 4th Floor - Library ~ This Breath of Autumn

Sabriel considered his latest chapter, chewing absently on his bagel. The volume was a collection of several useful plants and their magical properties. He did not even take Herbology, it was all quite random really; the books he read never matched his curriculum. He suppose it'd be more helpful if they did, but Sabriel never studied. He only read for pleasure. The topics that truly interested him, called his attention, were the ones he pored over. Anything else was simply a way to pass the time. But studying? No. He supposed there were times when the passages he chose to read over became instilled in his courses. Even then, it was coincidence. Being a Ravenclaw, he had natural wit.

Sabriel registered another person, this time a boy, entering the library. The vibes that rolled off him were negative and made Sabriel's hackles stand on end. He knew who the boy was: a fellow Ravenclaw. A First-Year. He was pleasant enough, and Sabriel could only wonder what put him in such a bad mood.

He approached the girl and asked her to help him find a book. Sabriel felt guilty, as if he were eavesdropping, but the library was so quiet it was very easy to hear the two. He fixed his mild, gray eyes back outside, letting the cool air wash over him. He'd chose this position because there was plenty of light, and the breeze felt soothing on his skin. Sabriel had actually been feeling particularly feverish since lunch, but chalked it up to the changing weather. In fact, he was accustomed to it. He coughed lightly and sneezed again.
