Malowney entered the house after a long day's work and lay back on the sofa, relaxing. She shoved a ready meal into the microwave and read the newspaper peacefully. Then her eyes widened. More articles about the rages between Death Eaters and Order members. Mal had actually been considering joining the Order members, but if her sister Melody was ever to know she'd go mad. She was a Death Eater, but was on a honeymoon to Las Vegas. Such an ugly and dim-witted invention.

Mal watched as the microwave pinged and she stood up. She hurried towards it and took out the ready meal, sitting herself at the table in blissful peace. Then the phone rang. The caller said, "Hey I'll be at your house in fifteen minutes." then hung up. Mal gasped. She hurried around, fixing up the house, putting the kettle on for two teas.

DAYS LATER

Malowney woke up feeling light-headed and sleepy. She hadn't got much sleep from the vision in her head. With a trembling hand she reached for her water beside her bed. She sipped it cautiously and then felt sick. Whenever she drank water she felt sick. She drank tea instead. Mal just tested if she was better by drinking water every morning and every night. She got out of bed, feeling cold. She wrapped her nightgown around herself and set off downstairs. She had a missed call. She listened to it. A voice boomed out saying 'Are you feeling better?' Then it carried on and on about its day. Mal cautiously reached out and cancelled the call. She didn't care, she didn't think and she didn't know.

Her father was living downtown now. He kept on seeing Mal to check up on her. Mal had dared ask him where her mum was, and he just chuckled. "It's been long days since our relationship." Mal almost cried into her cereal. She hoped her mum was alive and well. Her father was the sort of guy who'd get drunk and kill his wife. Especially with his Santa Claus smile, often faked. Malowney ran her fingers through her hair worriedly. Would her father come knocking today? She didn't want to see him. Perhaps she'd call him, but she was too afraid to face him.
