And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Azkaban Prison Reform Empty Azkaban Prison Reform

Post by Thaorson Kam Elldir Sun Jul 24, 2011 8:16 am

After sending out the last owl to the Aurors, that grabbed his traveling cloak from the coat rack and said goodbye to his new secretary Eve and apparated to Azkaban. This would be his first visit to the prison since he visited his father over Christmas vacation his seventh year. After all this time, everything was virtually the same.

He entered the prison, flashed his Ministry badge, and took a walk around the prison. He came to the section that his father was in, and decided to walk through it. As he neared his fathers cell he removed all emotion from his face. His father had changed a lot, he was smaller, scrawny, and wrinkly. Thaor didn't say a word, but kept walking. His father looked up as he passed, and Thaor was sure his father realized it was him. He picked up his pace so his father couldn't talk to him.

When Thaor reached the meeting room, he opened the blinds, and used magic to clean up a bit. It was obvious it had been a while since this room was used. Which wasn't surprising since Rob Dent was the last warden. Once he was satisfied, he took a seat at the head of the table, and awaited the aurors.

Azkaban Prison Reform Empty Re: Azkaban Prison Reform

Post by Robert Lupin Sun Jul 24, 2011 2:03 pm

Robert was almost slightly amused when he received the mesage about the meeting at the prison. He was interested in the ideas Thaor had about prison reform. And he was sure it wasn't about to get any kinder here. That was what he wanted. Rob had followed Robert's directives, for awhile, and then buggered off. Typical Dent, Robert had figured out. Jen had more guts, but he always wondered how long it would take her to go follow her brother in that odd sibling relationship that ways always way too full of TMI. They were more like a married couple in their functioning than in an adult sibling relationship.

He made the journey to Azkaban. Azkaban seemed to be perpetually dripping with fog and rain. He didn't mind except that it was at risk for chilling his fresh extra large French Roast. Kate's lecture was ringing in his ears. He was far too sleep deprived now. She'd been barking at him all morning about getting a decent night's sleep for a change. He couldn't risk it right now. There was far too much at stake. The day was coming, and soon, where he could sleep all day if he wanted.

He arrived at the prison, and when he walked in, everyone seemed to snap to attention. Well, that wasn't going to last for much longer, he sighed. He enjoyed the respect a bit this morning simply because it represented a change that was in the wind. A change of everything he believed in. This was not the world he had ever wanted for his daughter. Much less his grandchild--Correct that. Grandchildren. There were more of those coming too.

Azkaban Prison Reform Empty Re: Azkaban Prison Reform

Frank did not like Askaban, no he did not, he did not like this terrible, terrible place one bit. It was bad enough he was even near the place, but having to walk through it was absolutely terrible. Frank was a sensitive soul and the terrible nature of the dementors had made him pale and shaky. Prisoners leered at him as he walked through and he ran a hand through his hair shakily, his eyes appearing sunken in.

He fumbled for his wand and thought firmly of a happy thought, one from his childhood on a particularily fun day to a trip to the beach with his family when Alice had been much younger. "Expect-Expecto Patronum." At first it flickered out of his wand and then dissolved. He tried again and the lion cub tumbled from his wand, landing sprly at his feet.

Frank felt his strength return and he walked all the way down the rows of cells, the lion cub walking proudly alongside Frank, trying to puff its chest out to look more intimidating. He reached the meeting room and closed the door firmly behind him, taking a shaky breath. He nodded at his patronus which disappeared and he looked back, to see Elldir and Lupin.. Probably the two most important wizards of their time.

"Sorry," he said. "I don't do well with dementors." He strode over to the table and sat down.

Azkaban Prison Reform Empty Re: Azkaban Prison Reform

There was some sort of mandatory rule, she was sure, that stated she had to attend these infernal meetings. Jen had been busy for most of the week and upon being told she had a meeting to attend to, she staunchly refused. The secretary, as simpering and as stupid as she was, muttered something about a report and dumped an armful of files onto Jen’s desk before scuttling out of the room. Jen had dragged the folder onto her desk and had read a few pages before deciding that the Buckingham suicide was nothing but a well dressed up murder. She wasn’t going to go into why with her idiotic employees and as far as they’d been concerned, she had no intention of attending the meeting so, just to keep them on their toes, Jen shrugged on her coat and told them all simply that she was going to humour Elldir and actually go. She wouldn’t be of much use, in fact she downright refused to be, but it was bound to be more fun than explaining why Richard Buckingham was murdered and didn’t commit suicide.

Appearing on the island, Jen was less than impressed by what she saw. Dementors were everywhere. It looked as if more had been brought in from Germany. Jen’s lip curled at the sight of them and she picked up pace, deciding not to stick around when they went in search for their meals. Though, it was just as grim inside as it was out. Not only were Dementors everywhere outside but they were also littering every crevice inside, making the prisoners existences hell like they should but also make hers difficult. Jen made quick work of banishing them, not with a Patronus but a variant form of a Lumos spell. Her Patronus had been iffy and quietly to herself, she wondered whether she could conjure one anymore. She made it to the meeting room soon enough though and came in just after Longbottom.

“There better be a good cause for this, Elldir. There is a dead guy in the morgue and the idiots he,” Jen pointed to Robert with a smirk, “employs for me are betting on suicide. Amateurs. Anyway, what do you want?”
