Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

A Happier Time Empty A Happier Time

Post by Maddie Kane Sat Jul 09, 2011 5:42 pm

Cecilia was sitting on the small bench in front of a grand piano in one of the many parlors. She pushed down on one of the keys and it made a noise. She smiled and looked down at the little green teddy bear that sat next to her. “Did you hear that Shammy?” She said talking to the little bear as if it where alive. “I’m gonna learn how to play the Piano one day,” she said a little glow in her eyes. She pushed more of the keys down in random patterns and giggled as she did so.

Cecil wore a little blue dress with white collor and a white band at the end of the short sleeves. Around her neck was a necklace with a pendent that was shaped like a little elaphent. Recently she had gotten her ears pierced and now she wore little birds with a blue midle in her ears. Her shoes where so cute and had the face of mice on them. The light colors stood out aginst her long black hair which reched to the back of her knees. She hadn’t had it cut in a long time. It had been so long she could remember when it was last cut. Maybe it hadn’t been cut.

“Wanna play with me Shammy?” she asked picking up the bear its paws in her tiny little hands and pushed the keys down as if the Shamrock where pushing them inseed of herself. “I wonder where Eli is!” she shrieked and droped the bear getting up and running though the house to find her big brother. “ELI WHERE ARE YOU?” She yelled running up the stairs and towards his bedroom in one of the far wings. She had completely forgot about her bear for the time being.

As she was running her feet slipped and she ended up sliding into a wall. She was knocked off her feet and she shriked again “Ouch!” after rubbing her head she quickly got back up and continued her surch for her beloved brother. “ELIJAH ARE YOU HIDEING FROM ME?” She Screamed as she ran towards his bedroom. In such a big house it was most likely that he didn’t hear her screaming as she did.

She ran into her father falling over again and looked up at him with wide eyes. She was afride he would get mad at her for yelling and running in the house. “Hi Daddy,” she said talking just above a whisper like a nice little girl was supose to, “Have you seen Elijah?” she stood up and brushed of her bottom. The fear of making Viktor mad was clear in her big brown eyes. She clasped her hand behind her back and looked down at her feet as she rocked back and forth on them. “Ooooh Daddy can we get a puppy?” she asked smiling from the idea that she thought was brilient, “ A cute one with big brown eyes and a wet nose?” she looked up at him with pleeding eyes. Then shriked again “Or a kitty? One of the orange or gray tiger striped ones?”

A Happier Time Empty Re: A Happier Time

“Enunciate properly, Elijah - come on.” His tutor coaxed gently, his voice losing its firmness as it mixed with the summer air that drifted leisurely into the stuffy library. The man was tall, languid, and had a hair of sandy blonde curls that fell just below his ears. His blue eyes sparkled with thinly veiled amusement and his expertly crafted fingers were curled around the book that he’d been reading from in English, hoping that the narratives that his pupil responded so well to at bedtime would somehow help him grasp the language that eluded him since he was a child. It amazed the young scholar. The boy could chatter away about anything and everything in Bulgarian but for some reason, he found English a challenge. Micah, which was the name of the Krum heir’s tutor, suspected that the boy was just lazy - though he daren’t report that to Viktor; that was not something the man would want to hear.

Elijah sighed heavily and swayed from side to side, his arms flopping uselessly. Micah mirrored the exhale of breath and lifted his head to look at the woman that had elected to sit on the patio outside the French doors that they’d pushed open. A book was open in her lap, one leg crossed over the other, and her face was a picture of thought as she chewed on the nail on her index finger. Micah felt his lips twitch upwards at the sight of her impossibly dark, curly hair and the bright, floral summer dress that accentuated her child-bearing curves. Micah looked back down at the boy and pursed his lips, unsure as to what to do with him. Elijah looked up through his eyelashes, a cheeky smile on his face, and Micah chuckled, the deep rumble in his chest explain to the boy that no, he was not in trouble.

“I don’t understand it!” Elijah protested, his voice low even for his age. It was a deep, warm baritone that would surely become something very beautiful when he was older. It always struck Micah dumb and he knew it did the same to Stelladora, Elijah’s nanny; especially when he sang. “It’s difficult! It’s...it’s...hard.” He finished lamely, shrugging his shoulders in his robes. “And besides, The Little Mermaid isn’t the same in English.”

Clearly they needed to try something new.

“Alright,” Micah said decisively, peeling off his outer robes. He draped them over the back of the desk chair and looked at Elijah before smirking. He picked his wand up and tapped it against the wireless. Music began to emerge from the speakers and Elijah brightened visibly. Micah swept their books off of the table and lifted Elijah up onto the top. He grinned mischievously and jogged over to the doorway. He put his hands on Stelladora’s shoulders and gestured for her to get up. She closed her book and jumped to her feet. Micah kissed her cheek and pulled her into the library. He picked her up and set her on the table with Elijah.

“Dora!” He exclaimed, wrapping his arms around her legs. She laughed and Micah turned his wand at the radio, changing the song. “Are we going to dance?” Elijah asked; a hopeful look on his face. Micah laughed and nodded.

Elijah slotted his hand into Stelladora’s and slowly, began to chip into some of the words of the song. Then, slowly but surely they began to dance across the tables, jumping from each one. Then, miraculously, his words began to come out in full force - correct too. Micah’s lips parted and widened into a smile of joy. He clapped his hands in time to the music and Elijah turned, taking Stelladora’s other hand and beginning to dance ‘properly’ with her.

Then, as quickly as the music began, it ended. It cut off so abruptly that at first Micah didn’t notice. He turned, his lip coming between his teeth, and he narrowed his eyes at the disturbance that was in the form of Marina Krum and, much to his delight, her daughter. Neither looked particularly pleased and Marina held Cecilia out, as if she were passing over a bag or a coat.

“Take this. My husband and I have no time for petty disputes or whims. See to it that she gets a cat, Stelladora. I don’t want dogs in this house. We’ll be leaving later tonight.” She said coldly.

“Where to, Marina? You just got back after all.” Stelladora asked carefully.

“Nuremburg if you must know!” She replied shrilly.

“How long for?” Elijah asked gently.

Marina huffed. “Not long enough.” She released Cecilia and swept out of the room, slamming the door behind her before the girl had a chance to follow.

(I hope you didn’t mind the godmod there. I just wanted to highlight the disdain from both Viktor and Marina...and sort of, that they were never or rarely there. Just come up with Marina & Viktor’s reactions, actions and words -- go nuts!)

(Nope I do not mind)

Before Marina brought Cecilia to library Viktor had gotten mad at her for yelling and running. So her face was red and puffy from crying. As her mother carried up stairs Cecilia tried to give her a hug she pushed her away from her.

“ELI!” Cecilia shrieked seeing her older brother. From Stelladora’s arms, she watched as her mother stormed out. She struggled out of Dora’s arms and ran out on to the patio. After a minute she ran back inside a bounced up and down on the balls of her feet. “Micah, where did the pretty music go?” she asked looking up at him innocently biting her lip. Before he could answer, she ran off again. This time she was trying to open the door that reveled where her mother had stormed off.

“Where’s Shammy?” she asked herself looking around. The little green bear still lay on the floor next to the piano down stairs. She sat on the floor in front of the door and stuck her thumb in her mouth as she rocked back and forth. It was obvious that she was about ready to start crying if she didn’t find Shammy soon. Quickly she forgot about the bear again and looked up at Stelladora, “Mommy said I could have a kitty!” she exclaimed, “But why can’t I have a puppy?” she pouted as she looked up at the nanny with watery eyes.

She stood up again and went over to Eli to show him her shoes. She had shown them to him every time she wore them but she never stopped. Crawling up on the table with him she pointed down at her shoes “Look Eli they have like mousey faces on them!” she said, “they even have the little pink ears and whiskers.” she sat down next to him on the table and took her shoe off to shove it in his face. “SEE!” she shrieked again. Taking off her other shoe she climbed down off the desk and ran around the library hiding under the desk.
