Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Jack began to approach and suddenly, they were all bathed in the moonlight. Jack cursed under her breath. She turned and whispered to Sam and Brayden, "Stay back. Don't attack. Only defense. No noises, movements, just be alert. Okay?" She turned back, slowly approaching Ari, cringing as he writhed in pain. "It's okay, Ariel, it okay, I-"

He suddenly reached out and his hands collided with her shoulders, pushing her away and she tumbled backwards, a look of confusion crossing her features. She tilted her head as she caught herself, "Ari?" The transformation continued and the pup continued forward, and she saw the look in his eyes flicker. She looked at him in confusion. What was happening? She crouched, reaching a hand out. "Ari?"

Brayden watched in horror listening to Jack and scooted back a bit with Sam. "Yes Jack, only defense. But wh.." He stopped as he watched Ariel change to a wolf. "Oh gosh.." He whispered keeping to his word of staying back and only attacking by defense. Brayden watched making sure not to make any sudden movements. He thought Jack was stupid to approach Ariel when he was a werewolf. Didn't she know he could kill her? The whole thing boggled Brayden's mind but he didn't move and hoped Sam wouldn't either.

The dog knew they were friends, not foes. Ariel was pulling at the reigns as much as possible but it was having next to no effect. The dog needed to check that Jack was who he remembered and with next to no breeze, there was no sure way of smelling her without getting a little too close for comfort. Thankfully she crouched and called him by his name. The dog was a little put off by this but it sank down so it was on all fours and crept forward. Its claws cut into the ground and its nose wriggled as it fought to catch her sent. When it did, Ariel felt its muscles contract as it began to bound towards her. The dog stopped when it was nose to nose with her and promptly licked the side of her face. Ariel mentally slapped himself; and the dog.

The dog’s ears pricked up and it stared at the bushes over Jack’s shoulder. A growl tore from its mouth and it narrowed its eyes. Ariel didn’t know what it could smell. He didn’t care to find out but Wolfsbane probably would have been a great help to him in that instance.

Jack could feel her heart beating uncontrollably, because who knew how the pup would be after having gone through whatever Ari's kidnapper had forced him to go through. He began to bound forward, but she felt a smile spread on her face as she saw his tongue poke out a bit, his eyes bright. He reached out and licked Jack and she fell back slightly.

Her relief did not last, because she heard a low growl rumble from the wolf's chest and she stood, whipping around and raising her wand. "Stupefy!" She was not hesitating, she knew Kendall and Julia had to be right there. "Sam, Brayden, behind me." She moved away so that Ari was not directly behind her but by her side. She threaded a hand into the scruff of the wolf's fur, though, not wanting Julia or Kendall dead via pissed werewolf...

Kendall crashed after them. He ran into two more clearings and saw broken ropes and missing in action Dark Followers, meaning that the plan was going drastically, terrible, utterly wrong. He shot off, leaving Julia behind, irritated that someone else was close to putting his family back to shame. No way was he going to let these mudblood brats get away.

He heard a funny noise and crashed into a clearing as a spell whizzed towards him. He spun away and saw the Jack girl, along with two other hostages, one of which was his own. And worse... a werewolf. Kendall cursed and began throwing Crucios...

Jack realized this was not going to end well. Kendall was just shooting randomly. He was going to hit someone eventually. But Jack had two other kids to watch out for as well as a werewolf. Oh, and she sort of had to watch out for herself, but that was her lowest priority right now. She glanced around at her little group and the gears began turning.

She pulled Sam out of the way of a Crucio and shot a Stupefy at Kendall, before turning. She threw an around the two boys and maintained her grip on the wolf's scruff. She ducked her heand and took off running, saying, "Keep going til you get out of the forest." She released them and whipped around. "Petrificus Totalus!" She had to lead them out of the forest where it could be a fair fight...

Random spells never had foreseeable paths, hence the term ‘random’, but Ariel would always have the advantage when he was a werewolf. He’d always had a little bit of an advantage even before he’d been turned but he’d had no desire to showcase abilities that came with the blood. What was already there was made stronger ten-fold once the curse had settled into the blood. Ariel knew that if he could hit the spell energy with something that would be a good conductor of magic then it would be like a game of rounder’s except a little more dangerous and more fun. The dog wasn’t nearly as analytic but he had a plan too – although granted his plan consisted of literally biting Kendall’s head off and tossing it for the rest of the woods to enjoy. Still, it too liked the idea of a magical rebound and it seemed to understand which spells were the more dangerous ones.

Ariel had always believed that the dog possessed more humanity than he could ever hope to have. Tonight though, with equal pressures on their shoulders, Ariel and his pup thought on the same wavelength as they leaned on each other, one painfully aware of the necessity of the other’s presence. They were to work in time with each other because that would be the only way. Jack seemed to have other ideas though and that wasn’t helping Ariel. The pup had smelt blood in the most pivotal of times; the worst time for him to smell anything human related. He had though and now, any little Slytherin arsehole that got in his way would either be maimed or get a taste of the curse. The dog was mild-mannered at best and he was content now. Another spell from that little shit and it was going to go ape – figuratively.

Kendall was nearly successful but that nearly was all Ariel wanted. A stunning spell flew crimson past his ear and he pulled himself from Jack’s grasp, even going as far as to bat her arm away but he did so as gently as possible for fear of breaking her arm. The dog was insistent at that point. It hadn’t decided whether to maim or kill but as long as he inflicted damage, he didn’t care. Ariel lost clutch of the reigns and was forced to watch as the wolf bounded towards Kendall, swinging his arm close enough to swipe at him and do him some damage.

Kendall had been following just one step at a time, focusing more on sending dozens of spells at the backs of the retreating students. He glanced back, hoping Julia was not far behind and was surprised when he turned back around. The wolf was running towards him. Kendall began to back away and the wolf swiped at him. Kendall screamed and threw himself aside.

He collected himself, scrambling to get up, and then he took off running, wanting to put as much distance between him and the attacking wolf. He even pushed between Jack and Sam, knocking them both slightly as he took off. He shot a few spells over his shoulder but he kept running until he burst out of the forest, think he was safe..

Sam was worried, that much was for sure, however he had continued to run, ignoring all his fear (And that goddamn werewolf) in order to just surge on and not stumble (Figuratively and literally)

Then a stupid Death Eater.. or was it Dark follower? Who knew. One of them started firing spells at them, several whizzing just past his ear.

With a look of determination he continued on, noting the increased light filling the forest, and the lessening density of trees in his way, and of course that stupid spell which sent a shower of splinters all over him as they ran forward, that was impossible not to see. "Where are we going Jack?" He asked, and no sooner had the words come out of his mouth than he saw the lights of the castle fast approaching.

"What's going on with that animal?" He shouted, his voice strengthened by his terror. "Has he taken his potion? Is he in control?" He asked.
