Coping without you here

It was almost sunset, and Nikki was out on the Great Lake, hiding behind a tree, trying to avoid the eyes of other students. Shouldn't be too hard, as she wasn't wearing her uniform, instead a black outfit -- black shorts, black top, black stockings and black boots. She was also wearing a serious expression on her face...she wasn't happy like she used to be with Sophia. Lighting a match, to light a cigarette, Nikki dropped the match and stepped on it and took in a deep breath of her cigaratte in her mouth. Yes, she knew she was too young to smoke, but she really didn't care at this point.

<P>Daniel was getting quite bored of the Gryffindor Common room so he decided to take a walk down to the Great Lake. Daniel walked up to his dormitories and changed into his plain v-neck shirt and tight light grey pants with an al-star converse along with it. Making his way down the stairs.  He continued to make his way down to the Great Lake and walk toward a tree where he always sat down and watch the lake. Sitting down, he tried to relax. But something didn't seem right, he could smell something burning. It smelt like a cigerette. "That's odd," thought Daniel getting up on his feet and looked behind the tree. "Nikki!" he gasped, watching her in horror. 'What are you doing?"</P>

Hearing her name and a gasp made Nikki choke. "Daniel!" Nikki said suprised but frustrated as well because he interupted her as she was about to exhale her smoke, but instead choked. With a gulp, Nikki put the cigarette back to her lips, exhaled, removed the cigarette from her lips and exhaled. "What's it look like I'm doing, babe?" Nikki asked. Nikki smiled at Daniel, just a bit glad and happy to see him, at least he was alive and well. "I'm smoking..." Nikki rolled her eyes, stating the obvious, well it seemt obvious to her what she was doing. "Want one?" Nikki asked Daniel.

Daniel furrowed his eyesbrows at her in frustration. His face was fuming with anger, he couldn't believe his eyes. The one he loved smoking away her life one cigerette after another. He curled his lips with irriation, normally his heart would churn whenever she called him babe, but not today. He was still angry at her for smoking, for even starting to smoke. "Well, obviously!" he growled angrily. "No, i do not want a cigrette!" he continued when she asked if he wanted one. Daniel couldn't watch this any longer, watch his lover smoke. So since he was a vampire he dashed towards her and tucked the cigerette out of her hand then dashed to the cigrette and stepped on it. "Nikki! What the hell are you doing, you trying to get yourself killed?" he asked, sadness and anger filled his voice.

"Hey!" Nikki frowned, as she watched him snatch the cigarette from her hand and destroy it. "These things ain't cheap, y'know?" Nikki said to Daniel. "A simple no would've sufficed..." Nikki continued. Nikki looked down in shame and embarassment. She seemt to have really hurt Daniel with her smoking. "Okay, well, imagine having the greatest sibling of all time that you never fight with and you just...clicked with them....like....it's just so inexplainable....and then one day, they're kidnapped...gone...tortured and God who knows what else!" Nikki explained, resisting the strong urge to burst into tears. "I'm not killing myself, okay? I just need something to help me cope, to help me.....be alive 'cause....being the innocent one seems to get you killed or tortured these days and if I at least appear bad....I'll live longer," Nikki told Daniel. Yes, that sounded like crap to her too, but she didn't know what else to say.

Daniel turned around slowly to look at her, he didn't really care if it wasn't cheap or weather a sufficied no was a good answer. All he cared about was Nikki, he didn't want her to smoke away her life. He love her so much, he didn't know what he would do if he had lost her. Fuming with anger, he watched her closely, listening to what she had to say. "That what you have to say for yourself?" he asked her, trying to remain calm but he could still feel the anger releasing through his voice. "Baby, you think I don't know what its like to lose the greatest sibling of all time," he told her. "I lost my sister as well, i lost my brother as well," he told her, trying his hardest to fight his tears from coming out of his eyes. "I miss them everyday, every minute of my life but that doesn't mean I go out and smoke a cigerette, its stupid!"

"That's what I've to say for myself." Nikki said sternly. Nikki listened to him and smiled weakly and watched him cry but still resisted the strong urge to cry with him, because if she started she feels she'll be unable to stop. "Everyone has their individual way of coping!" Nikki objected after he had finished his little speech. Nikki then frowned. "Oh, so now you're calling me stupid? Screw you..." Nikki turned around. Nikki shook her head and turned to face him. "And I call you my lover, the one that's s'posed to support me through good and bad times....the one who's always s'posed to be there for me...seems like a whole lot of crap to me!" Nikki said to him.

Daniel growled, angrily and snarled at her, blaring his dagger-like vampire teeth in front of her. "Your right, everyone does have thier way of coping," said Daniel, still angry. "But smoking is not one of them," he pointed his finger to the destroyed cigerette laying on the ground. "Well, i'm sorry it is stupid. There are other ways of coping, but you chose to smoke, that pretty stupid to me," Daniel spoke, his heart felt like as if it had been torned apart. When she said that he was suppose to be there for her through good and bad. He felt like he wasn't there for her, he wasn't a good boyfriend. "You think i'm not here for you? I'm here for you now, right here. Through bad and good.... you could've told me.." he said standing his ground, showing her he was here next to her showing he was always there for her.  

"And what difference would it have made if I told you?" Nikki asked, seriously. To be honest, it would've made no difference, and Nikki would've still decide this habit. Nikki walked up close to Daniel and slapped him across the face. "DON'T BLARE YOUR DAGGER VAMPIRE TEETH TO ME!" Nikki growled. Nikki ran down the the lake and fell to her knees, inches away from the water and began to ache and tense up as resisting the strong urge to cry had its consequences but she still refused to cry.

Daniel listened to her closely, and opened his mouth to speak. "I cou-" But before he could even speak he felt Nikki slapping him across the face yelling at him not to blare his fangs at her. He felt his head turn sideway from the touch of her hand, slappingn him across the face. Resisiting the urge to burst into tears, he stood there at the same spot, rubbing his cheek, sorely. He couldn't believe what had happen, he didn't expect her to slap him. He felt his three years dead heart had died again inside of him. Daniel continued to stand there for a moment, thinking. Trying to gather everything that had just happen. His lips trembled with pain and anger as he tried to fight the tears falling down his cheek. He turned around to look at Nikki, watching her cry her eyes out. To be honest he felt guilty of making her cry. He loved her so much, he just didn't want her to die. He then walked up towards her. "Give me a cigerette," he said, standing behind her. "If your going to smoke, then so will I," he thought to himself. He wasn't going to die on her own.
