A Break from Studies

Christabelle sat in one of the large arm chairs in the Ravenclaw common room curled up by the fire reading a book. She kept a blanket wrapped around her, covering up her silk pajama bottoms and long sleeved black shirt. Her hair hung loose in its curls. She had decided to take a night off from her studies having done extra work over the last few days catching up on everything. She actually looked like she was about to fall asleep with the book in hand but she kept herself awake. She actually had wanted to spend some of her waking hours doing what she had wanted instead of studying.

Yes, it was late. Nathaniel was suppose to be at the common room around curfew. But that was him, he always liked getting himself into trouble all the time.

Nathaniel walked into the Ravenclaw common room with his black, leather hoodie on top of his head to hide his face from teacher and prefects from patrol. To his dismay he found a girl almost about to sleep trying to keep herself awake. A smile plastered across his face. "Tired are you?" he asked and sat down, chuckled, softly as he sat on the couch with a wild grin on his face.

Christy looked up suddenly awake by the boy who had entered the common room. "Yeah a little." she said yawning. "Nothing I can't handle though. Just had a busy week." she wouldn't bring up the fact about her father's murder. It had been all over the papers in the wizarding and muggle communities alike. She smiled at him. "I think you made it back right before curfew too." she continued to say trying to make conversation with him as she placed the book down next to her. "Christabelle Whittle." she said holding out her hand towards him, "But everyone calls me Christy."

"Bugger," said Nathaniel taking off his hoodie, smiling, happily at her. He started to read her expression and straight away he knew that there was something bothering her, something she just didn't want to bring up. He smiled thoughtfully and winked at her. "That good," he nodded as she said nothing she can't handle that she just been busy. Taking off his jacket and revealing only a black and white stripped t-shirt that outlined the muscle on his body.

When she said he made it back right before curfew; Nathaniel let a small mystical laugther escape his lips. "Lucky," his laughter died into a chuckle. "I usually break the curfew but apparantly i'm back on time," he continued. Nathaniel saw her hold out her hand as she introduced herself, he shook her hand firmly with his strong, muscular arm. "Nice to meet you Christy. I'm Nathaniel - you can call me Nathan."

"Well its a pleasure to meet you Nathan." she replied smiling sweetly towards him. Even though he had shaken her hand firmly there was a gentleness towards it. Perhaps because she was a female but she didn't mind. He suprisingly didn't pick up on her German accent either, which wasn't a surprise since most people didn't. "Mind me asking what you were doing out so late?" she asked curiously.

Her hands were soft -- soft like a pillow as he shook her hand. Nathaniel smiled at her impressed with her german accent. "Nothing much," he told her. "Just getting into trouble," he continued shrugging his shoulder at her. He looked at her, looking at every feature on her body. "What about 'you'. What are 'you' doing up so late," he asked noticing that she was up as well; up late like he was.

She smiled at that...Trouble. "Trouble is always fun." she replied, noticing him looking her up and down taking in her appearance. But then again she had been doing the same. "I don't sleep much." she continued to say. "I have insomnia so its rare that anyone would find me asleep before three in the morning." she explained. It made sense and it was right. She rarely wouldn't even worry about finding her bed til sometime in the early hours of the morning sometimes to wake up not even an hour later to go to breakfast.

"Yeah. Whats life without a little risk" a cute, devilish smile spreaded across his face. Nathaniel chuckled and noticed that she too was looking up and down taking in his appearance. 'I don't sleep much' he heard her said; immediately he lifted his head up, shocked. "Why?" he asked. "Can it be cured?" he asked her when she said she had insomnia. That people wouldn't find her asleep until three in the morning. He knew little about mental illness so he had little knowledge about it. Poor girl, he thought.

"Its actually fine." she said looking at him. She thought it was a little cute that he seemed worried about her little in ability to sleep. "My cousin is the same way." she said laughing a little. Her laugh was strangly musical and charming. But then again she was a half veela. "I don't worry about it though." she went on to say her eyes meeting him, "Though it is kinda cute that you seem worried about it." She moved a little bit the blanket she had been using to cover a little falling to where he could now see her blue silken pajama pants and white long sleeved shirt the hugged her skin a little tightly.

Its actually fine, she said. Nathaniel winked and a smile plastered across his face. "Atta girl," he said to her. Drowning in the sound of her laughter, they were like heroin -- they were musical and so beautiful. Any boy would fall for her instantly. He began to listen to her again, catching up to what she was chatting about. "It doesn't bother you one bit?" he asked, curiously. It was quite a surprise to him. A girl who didn't care about her problem. People needed sleep; he read once that if a person didn't sleep for 3 days they would die or maybe that was just a myth. "Thanks," he blushed, scartching the back of his nose with his thumbnail. "I must admit you look cute as well in your pyjamus."
