Clean up on Aisle Riley (Open)

Riley walked into the Leaky Cauldron with only one thing in mind. A fire whiskey mixed with a bit of Butter beer. She found that the butter beer gave it a sweet taste and the fire whiskey a bit of a punch. She sat at the bar and laughed as the barmaid tried to flirt with a guy. He claimed to be an auror. She smiled softly and rolled her eyes as the barmaid walked away. “Pathetic.” She mumbled to herself. She smirked at the girl when she brought her her drink. “Thanks.” She smiled fakely and sipped her drink. As she walked to the door, she wasnt paying attention and crashed into someone sending butterbeer everywhere, especially all over her.

Selwyn had just opened the door to the Three Broomsticks, and he tried to back up, really he did, but there just wasn't enough time before the girl's drink was all over the floor.  And all over her.

He'd only gotten a few drops on his sleeve.  From the look of her, he doubted she'd appreciate it.  She was dressed like she thought every eye would be on her.  Or like she wanted every eye on her, but probably not while she was drenched in alcohol.

"Oh, sorry," he apologised.

From experience, people like this didn't really care whose fault an accident was, so long as they came out with their pride intact.

"Here, let me help," he added, drawing his wand to apply a drying charm.

She would still reek like a drunken hag all night, but that could hardly be helped.

Riley looked up with tears in her eyes. She was covered in the sticky drink which was now dried but still a bit sticky and now made her smell horrible. However, she remained calm, "Its fine, not your fault." She said sighing and using magic to fix her hair as much as possible. She looked down at the spilled drink and pouted, "I was really looking forward to that fire whiskey. Oh well, better go get a new one." She said and turned on the spot to approach the bar once again and order another fire whiskey. She waited for her drink in silence

Selwyn's eyebrows rose, because that was not the reaction he'd been expecting. He'd been bracing himself for shrieking and accusations.

But he could almost feel this just as well. The sigh, the pout, the way she just happened to drop what she'd been drinking into the conversation. He was supposed to feel guilty. He was supposed to walk over there and offer to buy her a new one.

Selwyn didn't know where this girl had come from, but he didn't feel the least bit guilty. She was the one who hadn't been looking where she was going.

He watched her as she ordered and wondered whether he was ready to do what he was considering doing. It couldn't hurt to just talk to the girl, could it?

He followed her back to the bar.

"At least let me buy you a replacement," he said.

Riley looked over as the man who had caused her to spill her drink had approached and offered to buy her replacement fire whiskey, "Oh no, its ok. Really." She said and looked to the barkeep, "Hey ricky. I need another fire whiskey. And you have a spill by the front door." She said and handed Ricky the bar keep a few galleons. She smiled as she was handed another firewhiskey and took a sip, "Thanks Ricky. Say hi to Molly dfor me." She said with a smile that seemed to light up the room and everyones mood around her. She then turned to the strange man, "Thanks for the offer."

All right. Selwyn knew that reaction.  It was the "I'm not interested, please leave me alone," reaction.  He'd done it enough times himself.

"Okay, good.  Hope you have a nice night then," he said, before turning on a toe and heading for the door.

He'd only come down here to get away from the school and now even Hogsmeade was beginning to feel oppressive.

Riley looked after the man and became curious. She grabbed her drink and exited the bar in search for him. She finally located him and scurried over to catch up, "Hey. I never caught your name." She said sipping her drink and keeping her eyes on him. Her eyes were currently lit up with fascination and she was very curious about who he was. She did not recognize him so she could not yet put a name witht he face. But hopefully, she would be able to soon. As soon as he told her his name, "Im Riley, by the way. Riley Andrews."

Oh no, Selwyn was not going to play this game, but he couldn't be bothered actively trying to get rid of her either.

"My name's Blair," he replied, thinking of a friend back home and silently hoping the real Blair would forgive him for appropriating his name.

"Blair Douglas."

He offered a hand for her to shake.

Riley nodded and smiled, shaking his hand, "Well Blair douglas, it was rather nice of you to offer to pay for my drink. I just wanted to say thanks again. It was nice to meet you." She said before running off and apparating home. She wondered who the man really was. Was his name really Blair douglas. Did she really care enough to find out the truth. At this point, no, no she didnt. If he wanted to remain a mystery, that would be his choice and on him, not her. She lied down after a long day and eventaully drifted to sleep
