So, Jack's life had been fairly interesting as of late. The Ministry was almost back up and going. Sunny was in a school play. Knight's Watch was getting reorganized.

Oh, and, yeah, she was in love with her roommate.

Nothing had been happening for her for a very long time, and then it had seemed everything was happening. Jack's head had been a whirlwind as she tried to right herself, tried to understand just what was going on in her life. How could she be spending part of her day dislocating people's shoulders with a Bludger, head into the Ministry where she dealt with secrets she couldn't tell anyone, and then fell to pieces at home because her hand had accidentally brushed Max's, and she wasn't sure what to make of that.

Domestic life was much harder than people gave it credit for.

But nights like tonight made up for it.

First off, it was nice to be doing some real work. Gabby had tracked someone down for the Knight's Watch - someone who had supposedly helped James Blood target children by separating them from their parents. Remy had spotted the guy, some bloke by the name of Don, heading into the Leaky Cauldron. Jack had been planning with Gabby and Kip when they decided there was no time like the present.

Jack stepped into the familiar bar, unzipping her jacket as she looked around. She approached the bar and ordered a round of whiskeys. Gabby pounded one down and Kip and Jack turned their eyes onto him. "What? It's after two." Kip shook his head and Jack let out a scoff, casting an eye around the bar. She spotted a man in a windbreaker, looking very much like the man they were after. "That him?" Gabby squinted at the man, reaching for Kip's whiskey and tossing that back as well. "Yeah."

Jack drank her whiskey and slid the glasses back to the bartender, standing. Gabby and Kip turned back to bar and ordered more drinks while she crossed the room, taking a seat at the man's table, where he was sitting with three other guys. "Alright?" she asked. "You Don?"

Don looked at his friends. "Who wants to know?"

Jack rolled her eyes. "That's a tired line, don't you think? I was wondering if I could request a private audience, as it were."

Don sat back, smirking. "Liking what you see."

Jack lifted an eyebrow. Had she been a more sexual human, she probably could have used that to her advantage. But... ew. You know? "Actually, I'm not here to offer you... services." Gross. "I was wanting to talk to you about services you offered someone else. A James Blood."

It was a domino effect after that. Don stood up and took for the door, but Kip slashed the air, blockading the door with tables. Don's mates stood, trying to block Jack as she took off after him, but she was much smaller and managed to dodge them. Gabby lept over a table and intercepted the men, pulling his wand on them as Jack whipped her wand on Don, who was forced to turn around by Kip, who was standing stoically at the door with his wand raised.

"Alright, Don, we just want to talk," Jack said.

Suddenly, one of his mates reached out to punch Gabby, who ducked. The fist connected with a man walking by, who immediately shoved Gabby, right into one of the other men.

And then it all exploded. Fists flying, kicks connecting, spells whizzing about. And in the thick of it, Jack was throwing elbows and shooting curses, feeling so incredibly alive.

Strange he found himself in the Leaky Cauldron this evening. He had not visited in quite some time, but, there was some reason he needed to be there. Not one to ignore a "feeling" he took a seat at the bar and he ordered a drink. Sipping it slowly he thought back to the past year.

He had made no headway while being at Hogwarts. The only thing exciting about it was the fact that he was even there. He had not stepped foot in the castle since he had graduated at age seventeen, but taking a page out of one Tom Riddle's book, he succeeded where the "Dark Lord" had not and gotten a job teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Why though? Well, Hogwarts was a haven of old magic, special magic, magic that held the key to this whole ordeal with muggles learning magic. He mentally scoffed at the idea, his own power questioned, while muggles were out using magic of their own. Typical of the Ministry to let something like this get completely out of hand. If they had a competent team then none of this would have happened, but, that was wishful thinking. It seemed to be a requirement to work there, complete incompetence.

The door opened and Aaron tilted his head to the side, a small smirk appearing on his face when he realized who walked through the door, and then it all made sense why he was here. He had not spoken to her since that faithful night many months ago.

Leaning back in his stool, Aaron simple watched the entire ordeal happen. He casually sipped his drink as she talked to the man and then his eyebrows raised when the fight broke out. Deciding that sitting was not the best option when spells were flying around, Aaron casually stood up, and walked towards the scuffle.

With a bit of swagger, and luck, he strolled through the bar towards Jack. Ducking his head between spells, he felt extremely lucky tonight, and knew he would not be hit. Walking up behind a larger man who was casting spells with reckless abandon. Casually he drained the last of his drink and smashed the bottle against the mans head sending him sprawling to the ground.

"Hello, Jack!" Aaron said as if there was not a fight going on. He pulled out his wand and deflected a spell that was aimed at him. He returned fire to the man who was firing spells and sidestepped another who was trying to tackle him, hitting him directly in the back with the Stupify spell.

He let out a loud oomph as he was tackled to the ground from behind. He almost lost his wand when he fell, smashing a chair on his way down. Wiggling around, he turned so that he was facing the man, and he cast a knock back spell that send the man sprawling across the room. "Need any help?" He said with a chuckle from the ground.

Jack had always preferred using her fists to using magic. She had supposed it was just her natural instinct, as a muggleborn who had been throwing punches since her first month on the playground. She couldn't deny either that her preference for her own strength above the magical came from times when she had almost crossed that line, that line that separated her from her enemies. She had broken it when she had tried to kill Vito, and she wasn't keen on being tempted again. Especially by lame thugs like Don and his associates. Her soul was worth for more than a few idiots.

She wanted to get to Don. She had a pair of magical handcuffs that were looped through a beltloop in her jeans, and she just needed to get them on Don. They would keep him from apparating (which she was surprised he had not already done or tried to do), and they would help her get him into the Ministry holding cells so she could find out more information about Blood. She could not deny, however, that in her quest to get to Don, she was enjoying the fight.

She heard her name as her fist collided with a man's jaw, and she wheeled around, spotting Aaron Marcheti. "Fancy seeing you here!" she responded, snatching an arm that had appeared from behind her, twisting it and slamming it behind the back of another attacker. She shoved the person to the ground, before disarming a man lunging at Kip, who was quietly and calmly taking people down with spell after spell. Gabby was roaring, talking, joking, being obnoxious.

Aaron asked if she needed help, and it made her think of the other barfight she had had here once before. Back to back with Nemo, parading as Death Eaters, laughing wildly as they caused trouble. Before any real emotion could settle in, an elbow dug into her ribs. She shouldered the person off of her and spotted Don wrestling off a bar patron. "Couldn't hurt!" she called back.

Aaron smirked and pushed himself to his feet, a jet of red light flew over his head, and he raised his eyebrows and sent another spell into the direction it came from. He was not sure what was going on here or why Jack was starting fights, but, he did not question it. It had been far to long since he had seen any sort of action, in fact, he felt a bit rusty. His spells were not hitting accurately and he barely dodged incoming spells.

"Aha!" He shouted as he stiffened a man up with the body bind curse. His celebration was cut short as a fist smashed into the side of his face and he was sent sprawling to the ground. He slammed to the ground, rolled onto his back, rage plastered across his face. "Ava...." Aaron stopped himself before he cast the killing curse. There were too many people, witnesses, and he could not afford to have the Ministry chasing him around the country.

"Stupefy!" A jet of red light smacked the man directly in the chest as he tried to pounce Aaron, unconscious, he almost fell onto Aaron who rolled out of the way. Rubbing his cheek as he stood up, he glanced at Jack. "So, who're we after?"

It was funny. Jack had finally attended an Order meeting, having graduated herself on to a new faction she had created. She doubted half of the people in that meeting would have backed her as well as Aaron was. Ollie just didn't seemed the confrontational type, nor was Teddy. James was different ever since his return to society. And Selwyn... Selwyn had some weird score to settle with everyone that kept him from having any worth in a team setting. Aaron had an actual score to settle. She had stolen his hostage and defected in a blaze of spellfire.

And he still had her back. That was true respect.

He called out to her and she wheeled around, sweeping an attacking woman's legs from beneath her. She turned her head and pointed at Don, clad in his windbreaker, being beaten by another patron. She pointed. "I go high, you go low?"

Aaron nodded his head and then charged the man who she pointed out. Without caring who was fighting him, Aaron slashed his wand, and the man standing over Don and beating him was flung against a wall. Why was he helping Jack? He liked her because she did not try and make him be anything he was not. She knew what he was capable of, but, she did not try and capture or kill him. Maybe she thought he was good for the wizarding world, or maybe, she was afraid to try and capture him? His ego told him it was the fear that stopped her, but really, they respected each other. One day, they would more than likely collide, but not today.

Don was beginning to stand, but he would not be up for long, as Jack and Aaron were incoming. He went low, dropping his shoulders, he tackled into his legs. Grabbing on for dear life, he squeezed his legs so he could not get away.

One man was proving to be resilient against her beatings, and he charged her for what felt like the eighth time. She stunned him and sighed, turning just in time to see Aaron was charging Don. She whooped and jumped over the stunned man, reaching Aaron and Don a split second after they crashed to the ground. Jack immediately dove down, rolling Don onto his stomach. She wrangled his arms so they were pinned behind his back. He struggled but beneath both Aaron and Jack, he had little chance of overcoming them.

His men had noticed, however, and were charging. Kip casually picked off two from his place at the door, while Gabby ripped them away from their approach. The other patrons were still fighting and Gabby let out a roar. "Baboons! Stop - we're taking down bad guys."

The action simmered down at about the time Jack managed to clamp the handcuffs on Don. She kept her knee in his back, her hand bracing his head on the ground. She looked over at Aaron and grinned. "It shouldn't be this easy to be awesome."

The fight began to finally calm down and Aaron let out a sigh. He released the mans legs and he propped himself on one knee. He was breathing heavily and the aches were already beginning to set in. He had not done anything physical in quite some time and this little activity had drained him.

"Who are you kidding?" Aaron said with a chuckle as he pushed himself to his feet and dusted off his robes. "This type of awesome takes hard work and nurturing." He grinned and then toed the man on the ground, poking him in his stomach with the toe of his shoe.

Gabby had knocked out the last remaining of the unruly patrons and Kip had bound one of Don's men. Two had escaped out a window, but Jack wasn't worried. Without Don, the men would be ineffectual and would certainly be carted in for some sort of petty crime or theft. He was the man doing the horrendous child-snatching for Blood - it was him she wanted to take down.

"Maybe for you," Jack quipped, glancing up to see Gabby working crowd control, Kip calming down the poor bartender who was trying to figure out what to say to his supervisor. "I must just be inherently cool."

She stood Don up and nodded her head to Gabby. He stalked off immediately to go and call in Remy and Rory so they could move Don to Knight's Watch Headquarters. It was a very delicate system of transportation. She yanked Don into a seat and growled, "You can nap or you can remain stock still. But don't move a muscle."

She looked back at Aaron, giving him a look that communicated that this wasn't the time or place. "Slavery - too put a blanket term on it."

Remy and Rory slipped through the door and she stood to greet them. "Stick around, yeah?" Jack asked.

Aaron pocketed his wand and he stood around awkwardly as they loaded the man up. He wondered what the man had done and he quickly aimed his wand from inside of his pocket and whispers Leglimens to try and get into his head, but, before he could he was gone. Curling his lip, he dropped his wand, and stood with his hands in his pocket since Jack had asked him to wait. He did not dare try and get into her head, though he was sure he could get the upper hand, but he did not want to breach the trust that was already on shaky grounds.

Rolling on the ball of his feet, he whistled to himself and looked around at the bar, watching as they employees began to patch it back together. One made eye contact with him and she seemed to be angry that he was not helping so he simply shrugged his shoulders and gave her an I am sorry look.
