Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Ravenclaw Common Room Empty Ravenclaw Common Room

The Ravenclaw Common Room is a bookworm's paradise. There is a large room that serves as a library, and it is said that there are almost as many books there as in the main library, even if the room looks much, much smaller. A statue of Rowena Ravenclaw stands at the entrance to the library. Light floods in from windows close to the ceiling. This is the only common room without a fireplace in the main part of the common room. It is in one of the tallest towers in Hogwarts. To enter it, you must answer a riddle; there is no password.

----------------------------
Common Room Rules:

  • The Common Room is an OPEN thread, any Ravenclaw can and should post here.
  • Get to know other Ravenclaws here! Try to converse with each other and RP with people you haven’t roleplayed with before.
  • If your interaction with another character here becomes long and/or private, and you don't want anyone else to disturb, move to a closed thread.
  • There is no word cap, but you should keep most of your posts short. 200-400 words is ideal.

Ravenclaw Common Room Empty Re: Ravenclaw Common Room

Post by Katherine Avery Thu Mar 12, 2015 5:37 am

Katherine came back from dinner feeling drained. It wasn't even that it had been a long week, either, given that it was only Monday. Still, she had been feeling poorly for quite some time now. Since returning from her holiday at home, she had been experiencing the pain and exhaustion that had been the initial signs of her illness a little over a year ago.

Since checking in with Victoire in the Hospital Wing, the blonde was a bit more careful, but she still did not want to have anyone worrying after her. She was lucky, in a way, because no one had really prodded her about it or tried to get Katherine to open up about why she was so tired and quiet.

To make things worse, magic was not working as it should have been, so Kit had to worry about whether or not she could even do well in classes. That said, her studies were taking place in the common room for the evening, so she sat down in one of the alcoves, glad to be surrounded by books and a bit of quiet.

Ravenclaw Common Room Empty Re: Ravenclaw Common Room

Post by Bertie Nogard Thu Mar 12, 2015 3:15 pm

Bertie had decided to miss dinner that night, which was never a good idea but when creativity came calling it seemed rude to ignore it. Instead the Ravenclaw had headed straight to the common room after his last period of History Of Magic and decided to scribble down his chain of thought about a story he'd thought about.

Lately he'd been really into writing novels set within the muggle world. Over the Christmas period he'd watched a lot of muggle television and was inspired at how magical stories could be told even without magic. Currently he was planning his own television series set in a hotel where, in the first season, the main character (a new worker at the hotel) fell pregnant and was also reunited with the daughter she'd given away. It was rather unrealistic but Bertie loved the drama and the juice of it.

The common room was fairly quiet, in fact he'd been the only person in until Kit, a fellow fifth year, entered. Although the two were in the same year they weren't overly close but did speak from time to time when necessary.

A part of Bertie was tempted to go over for a chat. Sure he was an introvert but there was being alone and being lonely and as of late the Ravenclaw had felt the latter. He missed Vivianna. The Slytherin's schedule clashed with Bertie's meaning that the Ravenclaw rarely had time to see her and catch up. In fact, apart from the casual hello in passing he hadn't met up with her one on one since the pair had returned after Christmas. Bertie supposed that he'd best get used to that, after all she was graduating this year and he'd be left lonely without a close friend to call up.

Closing his pad of parchment the Ravenclaw got out their transfiguration homework. Bertie was awful at transfiguration. He was rather adequate at the practical side, that allowed him to use his imagination, but the theory simply left his mind flinching in pain every other sentence, especially when it was regarding certain theories. It all seemed somewhat scientific for him, which is something Bertie didn't think he'd ever have come across in the magical world.

Upon contemplating disturbing Kit for a few minutes in the end he felt no choice.

'Sorry to disturb you, Kit.' Bertie said apologetically after walking towards the alcove where she'd decided to sit. 'But you haven't done the transfiguration homework have you? I can't seem to get my head around this essay regarding where vanished objects go?'

Ravenclaw Common Room Empty Re: Ravenclaw Common Room

Post by Michelle Cuffe Fri Mar 13, 2015 10:56 am

Jessica had just finished with her dinner and that's why she walked back to her common room. She had finished most of her homework earlier. She looked at the door to their common room. She have never liked these riddles and today wasn't any exception. She thought for awhile and she soin said right answer to it and she got in.

When she walkes in she saw there Kit and Bertie. She walked over to them. "Hey," she said to them with small smile. She knew these two better than any other student in her house. She took a seat on armchair near them. She looked at Kit. She seemed to be not very well but she didn't say anything about it yet. Didn't wanna scare her or anything.

Jessica had seen her sickness last year and there was few smiliar signs. She decided to keep it for her right now. She looked at her with worried eyes. Well they might notice it. "What are we talking about?" Shd asked from them and did sat in armchair more comfortably. If they talked about homework then she probably couldn't help much unless they tell excatly what they had to do in it. Maybe then she could help.

Ravenclaw Common Room Empty Re: Ravenclaw Common Room

Post by Katherine Avery Mon Mar 16, 2015 5:11 am

Katherine was truly shocked to hear someone address her, nonetheless to have two people want to sit with her in only a matter of minutes. When Bertie approached, she jumped, feeling the heat warm her cheeks in response. "Um," she began, eyes wide and curious as always. "I was actually about to start on the essay. I've got the textbook here but I hadn't really gotten into it. Did you... Did you want to sit?" Kit offered gently, lifting a hand towards the seat next to her.

When Jessica approached, Kit was silently reminded of the fact that she should have been in the same year as the other Ravenclaw, instead of in her fifth year again. Perhaps she could spend the summer catching up and take a couple of exams to prove she was ready to be in Seventh year in the fall. She made a mental note to ask Professor Hayes or his wife about that. Especially now that she could feel the typical signs again. Fatigue, occasional night terrors, things like that.

But she had other things to worry about right then. Namely, answering Jessica's question. "We were going to work on the essay for Transfiguration. Did you do well during the last class? I couldn't get the rock to disappear," she added with a pout.
