Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

All I need Empty All I need

They’d agreed to meet at seven thirty, giving Hugo enough time to go through several different suits and trawling through all of the shoes he owned before finally breaking form and going to James to borrow a pair of his. It also gave him plenty of time to panic and, of course, wrack his brains about what kind of flowers Yvette use to like and, crucially, find a florist that did them this time of year. He spent more than he should have done but with clammy hands and anxiety written across his features he not only needed something to hang onto – and the bouquet certainly helped in that – but he also needed to impress her. He had a lot to make up for.

His grandmother had been critical of his decision to take up with Yvette again and that wasn’t for lack of liking the young woman, either. Rather, Hugo had been a bad person towards the end of their relationship and it had been rather obvious to their family. It wasn’t something that his grandparents particularly wanted him to put her through again. His parents hadn’t weighed in on the matter. His mother was away on business and his father was with her, catching a few rays while she worked. This left the panel two short and Molly certainly wasn’t happy about it. Her husband was a lot more amiable to the idea, feeling it would be good for Hugo. No one asked the redhead’s opinion.

So what was his opinion? In truth, he had no idea. Well, that wasn’t strictly true. He wanted it to be different from last time. He knew he was better. He knew he could stand on his own without the guilt of not having been able to save his best friend. He wasn’t that bloke anymore, tied up in grief without an anchor in the world. Things were in colour again and people mattered. Things mattered to him and that meant, he hoped, he had time for a relationship.  He’d never imagined, though, that he’d be picking up where he left off with his school sweetheart, though.

Yvette’s place in London was nice. He was glad she didn’t live anywhere rough. It made him want to leave The Burrow, really, but he liked the comforts of something familiar and he was sure his grandmother liked the extra washing. For a moment, he considered barging in on Louis but he felt he’d get a resounding “piss off” from his cousin so buried that thought. The change of scenery was nice, though. That was his point. However, it wasn’t sufficient enough to distract him from the fact that he was getting perilously close to her flat – and the eventual date.

Seven twenty-five. He was early. Oh Merlin, he was early. He knocked. Better early than late or not at all, he supposed.

All I need Empty Re: All I need

Yvette's nerves were going haywire as she started getting ready at 4. She knew that she was going to have a hard time trying to figure out what to where and right now she was freaking out. She had tried on three different dresses but didn't like how any of them looked on her. Then she remembered one dress that she had bought a long time ago. Grabbing it from the back of the closet and quickly putting it on, she walked towards the mirror that sat in the corner of her bedroom. Standing in front of it she knew that it was the dress she had to wear for Hugo. Just thinking about him made her heart race, also remembering the kiss they shared in Honeydukes. Her palms broke out in a sweat as she took a deep breath then went to retrieve the shoes that went with the dress. The heels wouldn't even make much of a difference when it came to Hugo's height.

Looking at the clock and seeing it said that it was seven o' clock she ran for the bathroom. She left her hair down but made sure that it looked pretty and not like a complete mess. She put on a little bit of eyeliner and mascara, she had to stop several time because her hand was shaking slightly. She had taken several deep breaths then finished completely. Looking in the mirror for a few moments then walked out and grabbed the matching purse that went with her outfit as well as the earrings. She was just about to grab her coat to put over the back of her new couch she heard a knock. Her heart stopped for a moment leaving her stunned and slightly frightened.

Yvette took a deep breath and stood tall, walking to the door she looked through the peephole. Seeing it was him she smiled because she knew that he was early. Unlocking the dead bolt she opened the door to reveal him standing there in a suit. She let out a small gasp and then blushed because she was dressed in a red dress with red lace sleeves. It was also had a small part in the back that was backless. She had a shawl that was lace and matched the dress perfectly.

"Hello Hugo, you look very handsome." She said smiling at him sweetly. "Come on in, I just have to grab my purse and jacket."

All I need Empty Re: All I need

“Not half as beautiful as you look,” Hugo’s reply was smooth, tempered against the giddiness he felt welling up tightly within him. He was with Yvette again. He couldn’t remember feeling this light-hearted.

He stepped inside briefly to set down the flowers but didn’t want to linger inside where he didn’t feel he was entirely welcome. He stepped out again into the hall and swallowed before shoving his hands into his pockets, turning over his house keys in his palm before looking up to see Yvette. He waited for her to lock up and then offered her his arm before apparating out of the corridor, appearing with a crack in Diagon Alley.

He’d reserved a table at Eli’s and had unabashedly used the “son of war heroes” card in order to get it when the seating hostess had been so reluctant. As he led her inside he felt a flash of pride that he’d been so canny about it. They were given their table, menus being plucked from a stand along the way by the waiter and once he helped Yvette sit, Hugo took his own seat and was handed his menu, the waiter promising to return to ask after drinks in a moment before bustling away.

“So,” Hugo hedged, reaching up to run his fingers through his hair shyly. “How … how has your week been?”

Yvette blushed at his comment about being beautiful. "Thank you." Her heart skipped a few beats just with him being there. There were what felt like a million butterflies in her stomach as she smiled at him.

She was grabbing her jacket when he set the flowers down. She ran to her kitchen really quick scooping up a vase putting water in it. She walked over took the flowers from where he placed it setting them on the end table. She grabbed her purse as well as her keys then shut and locked her door. Taking his arm she smiled as the appeared in Diagon Alley. Seeing where they were head she smiled and was feeling giddy about being there with him.

Yvette felt like she was floating on air when he helped her into her seat then took his own. She couldn't help but smile and be happy that she was with him. She missed the man in front of her so much since he was gone. Having him in front of her felt like a dream to her but she knew it wasn't a dream.

"It's been good, works been busy and yesterday was kinda long for me. One of the servers from the other shift called off because she was sick. I filled in for her since I was already there," Yvette said feeling giddy and happy. "How was your week?"
