Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

“What about her?” Kellan extended a long finger, unwinding it from around his champagne flute to point out a passing redhead who impressed upon the men sat around him only passing derisive snorts. She noticed too, and they all studiously averted their gazes, Augustus leaning forward to stub out his cigarette and retrieve his glass of whisky. Kellan passed an exasperated look in his friend’s direction and shook his head, bringing his own cigarette to his mouth and making a mental note to follow up on that particular redhead later on in the evening. He’d never been particularly fond of his wife and such functions were great diversions from the grim realities of pure-blooded marriage.

Together with Edmund Farce who had hosted the polo game, Augustus found himself in the midst of Monaco in one of the many casinos of Monte Carlo: the playground of the rich and famous. The men sat around, having gambled away money they didn’t have after a morning of champagne on the beach and wonderful, bikini clad women, certainly constituted as rich and famous and they held within them all of the corruption that came with it. They’d abandoned their wives and come with their girlfriends and were content to drink themselves into a stupor in between their squander of gold. They’d never go a minute without pleasurable company, either.

Kellan was part of a cadet branch of some nonsense family that had recently come into money. He’d come with his brother Lux and then with William and Geoffrey, whose lineage Augustus couldn’t be bothered to recall, they made a group that would probably sooner get arrested than go home at the rate they were going. It was escape more than anything else and for a while they could play at being teenagers or twenty-somethings again and all would be jealous because just as always it would be Augustus taking the women back to his suite. He wasn’t as interested in that as he usually was, however. Much to his dismay he was ultimately still on business which was what he’d come for before meeting up with his friends. He was, technically, at work.

Pierre. He’d come to see Pierre. Why his father insisted on striking deals with him still after all these years Augustus would never know but for some reason the lecherous beast of a man had chosen Monaco. Augustus didn’t mind – it was one of his favourite places in the world – but seeing him did put a damper on an otherwise fairly interesting holiday. As it was, though, it was a sobering reminder that he couldn’t find the next woman who strode by and whom he liked and tumble into bed with her for the rest of the day. For this part of the trip he’d had his fun and today it was all about deals and what the insufferable French brat could offer them this time.

Glancing at his watch, Augustus knew it was time to find out, too. He got up from his chair, muttering his goodbyes, and wandered away from the table, striding confidently through the breakfast rooms and out into the courtyard where the sun was shining down warmly over his skin, as though winter had long died and it was summer already. He would have continued on, too, had he not spotted someone he hadn’t thought he’d see again. He dropped his hand into his trouser pocket and felt a smirk take hold of his lips.

“My, my Elizabeth,” Augustus called, turning to approach the woman. “Anyone would think you were following me.”

Elsie had been forced to retreat from the scene a little bit. Her plan to bed and behead (not literally unfortunately) a bunch of pureblooded men had been going swimmingly. Apparently, they were all very willing to do the first part of her little scheme, and Elsie's little black book had filled up with names quickly. But so had the folder she kept by her bed, which was filled with the information that had come from all of the pillow talk. Financial information, family secrets, all of it had filled her folder and begun to get leaked.

Unfortunately, she had been forced to take a little vacation. She had been dancing at a club in Knockturn when she had suddenly been overtaken by three men who had tried to drag her out and probably kill her. All had masks and had gone unnoticed in the flashing lights and pounding music of the club. She had managed to pull herself away and hide under the bar until she had mustered the magic to be able to apparate out.

The scare had been enough to send her travelling. She felt bad, because she was certain that Claire and Ben missed her, but they would miss her even more if she disappeared one day and never came back. She was sure of that. So, she packed up two suitcases and traveled wherever the international social scene took her. Clubs, galas, charity events, museum openings, polo games, luncheons, and now... casinos.

Donned in a shimmery dress, Elsie followed Isabella and Adora throughout the casino. The two women had nearly fallen in love with Elsie and had desired her company for the entirety of her stay. They were vapid and stupid, but they were beautiful. Still, she glimmered more brightly and the attention had been nice. The two walked ahead, having spotted Isabella's cousin, and that was when she was caught away. Her feet stopped as the two women crossed the courtyard. Elsie turned slowly, her eyes falling on a familiar face.

A silky sense of a smile whipped across the elder man’s mouth so quickly that it would be more trouble to try to prove it had been there in the first instance at all. Seeing her brought back memories of that day and the snooker table and everything about the polo match that had left him so exalted and so keen to get her back for that first time. Since then it had been a lifetime. He knew that because he’d ended a few lifetimes by his own wand since then, playing at idle Death Eater bidding, and thus the measure of time could be plotted as such. Seven lifetimes, to be precise.

“Miss me, darling?” He crooned, drawing out the latter half of the last word, making it sound rather dahhhling-like and really and truly grounding him in the social position he heralded from. It was an ironic sort of reality for the man stood in the Monaco sunshine for he was so often in utter, despicable darkness – part of the gloom of the former Malfoy Manor. She was the sunshine, albeit, with her own tinge of shadow.

“You look well for someone who has lacked my company for so long,” he drawled, stepping closer, pushing his sunglasses up onto his head as he did so. One hand fell down into the pocket of his trousers and he raised an eyebrow at her before gesturing around.

“What brings you here?” He asked, before deciding he didn’t really want to know. He was just glad she was. “I have time to kill and a restaurant to try if you’d like to join me for lunch?” He offered after a moment, allowing that silken smile to return – albeit, just the barest of hints of it.

(OOC: Sorry this has taken so long. Dead muse and lots of school work does not make for posting.)
