What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Amortentia Empty Amortentia

Post by Rosanna Parker Thu Jun 19, 2014 11:17 pm

Amortentia. The lead single from Viola's debute British album. It was a song she'd wrote when she'd first found love in someone, not that she considers it love anymore, more infatuation. It was too a french wizard who was a few years above her at Beauxbatons. They'd met in a club, he'd bought her drinks, got talking and one thing led to another. She was addicted. She craved his scent, she enjoyed the taste of his lips. Utter passion. That's what amortentia was about.

Please be my analgesia, to make me feel euphoria
Your eyes have me cursed, And lips are so bewitching.
Is it love or is it lust? Either way you're infatuating
Send me to a state of amnesia for you're my amortentia
You're my amor amor amor tentia
You're my amor amor amor tentia
You're my amor amor amor tentia
You're my amor amor amor tentia
You're my Amortentia!

The crowd at the Poison Apple erupted into cheers and applause. Viola had finally started promoting her new single. Her first live performance in the UK of amortentia as over and now she would see the reward. Of course there was more work to be done. She had an interview with the Wizard Wireless Network, another performance at Satan's and then she was soon to be supporting the legendary Celestina Warbeck at a charity concert to raise money for St Mungo's. Her British career would hopefully be soon taking off and Viola could really appreciate her homeland of England.

'Thank you!' She called out through her microphone waving a hand in the air and blowing a kiss from each set of fingers to the crowd. 'You've been such an incredible crowd! Goodnight!' And with that, accompanied by a drum beat Viola headed off the stage and into the back, giving a few final waves to the crowd in the Poison Apple.

'Thanks!' She said to one of the stage runners who handed her a bottle of water ready to set up for the next act. Viola had only performed the one song, Amortentia, she didn't want to give away any of her other songs just yet - granted if it was up to her then she would have perhaps covered an all time Warbeck classic You Charmed The Heart Right Out Of Me, but seeing as she was to be doing a duet with Celestina at the charity concert her manager had pushed her away from doing it. Instead another upcoming artist would be taking to the stage after the intermission - dancing and drinking.

Viola meanwhile returned to her dressing room, which really was just a fancy room at the back of the club with thick leather sofa's and a glass table in the center. The witch tied her hair back into a ponytail and took a gulp of the water to refresh her vocal cords.

'You did fantastic!' Rudolphus, her manager, cried as he ran and patted her on the back. Wow. Viola must have put on a performance to impress Rudolphus as he rarely congratulated her. She remembered when Amortentia went to number one in France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. No well done, no hand shake just a 'Don't get too excited there is still a long way to go.' Just as Viola was going to call him up on this, in a casual witty way of course, a voice distracted her.

'You're not allowed back there!' One of the glass collectors called to a boy who looked in his later teens.

Amortentia Empty Re: Amortentia

Post by Keiran Hayes Sat Jun 28, 2014 9:44 am

Darren didn’t do concerts, as a general rule. Music was interesting, with that he could agree, but it was not what his interest typically settled in. However, there was something intriguing about the performers that created or were involved with the music. Definitely. Darren had always been under the impression that those with fame only had it because they were obsessed with the idea of it. He, himself, never wanted anything like that. Recognition, he wanted, sure. But not fame and the trappings that came with it. He would gladly pass on the mess that was interviews and tour dates and dealing with people who either liked you because you were good-looking or liked you because you had the fame they couldn’t.

Needless to say, Darren did not understand the infatuation with celebrities. What he did understand, though, was that he wanted to understand them. As backwards as it sounded, he was incredibly curious to know if this new sensation, this Viola Roosevelt, was as he expected her to be. Darren had never been given the opportunity to ask questions of anyone with reputable fame, given their schedules. And, you know, the fact that he wasn’t the most friendly of blokes.

So he sat through her concert, trying to join in on the sheer excitement that those around him felt. It was one of his quirks, he supposed, in that he wanted to feel what others felt to get a handle on how they must be as a person. Although, he decided halfway through, this situation wasn’t one in which people seemed to act rationally, nonetheless normally. Unless the person were entirely irrational.

Deciding that pondering that was more interesting than actually trying to comprehend the giddiness of those around him, Darren settled off to the side and spent a bit of time considering that before the concert ended. Not one for clubs, and not one to leave without getting what he wanted, Darren turned in the opposite direction of most of the patrons of the club. He started weaving between employees, chin up and eyes near-glassy in their tunnel vision. If he didn’t look at them, they wouldn’t realize he wasn’t supposed to be there.

It wasn’t until he actually got backstage that someone noticed him. Being subtle apparently had its advantages. “And yet, here I am.” Darren retorted dryly, a wry smile curving his lips. The boy – though he was nearly twenty and thus could really be considered a man – glanced around until his eyes settled on Viola. One eyebrow lifted slowly, trying to perceive any difference between the Viola he saw on stage and the one standing before him now.

“Evening,” he offered, his voice practically a drawl as he pushed the tips of his hair out of his face. “That was quite a show. Can’t say I’ve been to one, before, though… so my standards aren’t exactly sky high.” Shrugging, he continued on before anyone could say something against his words. “Then again, I’m not really a music person, either. …Ah well. Regardless, I found it quite interesting.”
