Urn Empty Urn

Post by Jordan Westfield Thu Jun 12, 2014 10:31 pm

"I watch them all pass by... The moon and the stars." Jordan sang softly as he sat on the edge of the Great Lake, holding a urn that was filled with his parents ashes, that had been mixed. It had been ten years of having that urn in his house, and never deciding what he was going to do with it. Just keeping it... There. It was like he didn't want to get rid of his parents, but it also killed him not respecting their wishes.

After his crazy expedition in Vietnam, which resulted in him losing his original wand, but finding a his fathers which suited him perfectly. It was as if the allegiance of the wand didn't matter. Which made Jordan believe that he was just like his father. It was an Ebony wood, that had a dragon heartstring core, and it was twelve inches. He had that to his side, and looked at it, every time he used it, he was overcome with a wave of Euphoria.

Jordan sat down, shirtless, with a bathing suit on. He hugged the cold urn tight to him, giving it a somewhat awkward kiss, not wanting to let go. "Let me hold him, in my arms, forevermore." He continued to sing in a soft high pitched voice. "These cold nights, park is ours." He sang looking at the water. "Standing.. By the side."

He could see his reflection in the water as he dipped his feet in it. Swinging them around in the water awkwardly, as his eyes returned to the urn. He put a nest with some rocks in it. "Let you, on, to the sea. Just for me.." He sang, opening the urn and taking a look at the ashes before closing his eyes. "Don't ever leave me, my love.
Keep Holding on...
Let the modest go.. As my mind goes to and fro.
Waking up for one more show.
We see him in the night. Tell him I'm not afraid of him.
I'm not afraid of 'em. Cause I won't know."

The boy dove underwater with the open urn, going deep down, letting the urn scatter around the water, seeing it slowly fall down to the water floor, and leaving the water spotless like it had been minutes ago. Now that that was over with, he could focus on the side mission he was on. Normally for these things, he'd enlist the help of Nate, Isadora, Jonathan, Connor, and Brooke. But this was something he had to do for himself. It was a key to a safe his father had in his office, that he had hidden here.

The reason was clear why he'd dropped the urn here. His father and mother had met here, and that was one of the clues that his biological father had used on the paper he left in his office.

One of the most important moments of my life happened here, where I met my first and last love. All of our old memories are here.

It was what the note had said. Jordan felt himself running out of breath and quickly apparated out of the water and onto the surface, taking a deep breath.
"Damn it!" Jordan complained.

Eva had been walking around the grounds this day. Her ankle had healed after a few days of resting it and she knew that she could now go and run around on the grounds. She decided as it was fairly warm outside that she could take out her flip flops. She was wearing a black strapless dress with her swimsuit on underneath it. Her long hair flowed freely down her back.

Eva ran her hand through her hair as she made her way towards the lake. It was so peaceful this time of year and it gave her time to think. She kept a journal and pen with her. She hated quills. They tended to be more messy than needed and after being raised with muggle children, she found she quite liked the pens and how smoothly they wrote. Looking towards the lake she paused seeing a guy singing while holding something. She wasn’t quite sure what it was. She stood there watching slowly making her way down as he got up and moved to the lake.

Eva had to admit that she was vaguely curious about what he was doing as he dived into the lake with the object. From the corner of her eye it looked like it was an urn. She looked a little concerned that he hadn’t emerged for a moment. She watched him apparate onto the surface of the water as she made her way up to the lake.

Eva slowly made her way to him, “You alright?” she asked looking at him. He looked to be to her like he was out of breath. “Might be a good idea for a charm of somesort if you’re planning on diving down into the lake.”

Jordan threw his head back, as his dripping wet torso touched the sunlight, his torso and legs dried quickly, but his nappy hair was still dripping wet. He lie on the grass next to the lake. Relieved that he had just finally gotten rid of his parents remains. In a good sense, that they were finally in the place they needed to be. Now he was searching for anything that could have his fathers key in there. He just hoped that wherever it was, that Merpeople weren't there, because he couldn't arsed to to fight a Selkie today. He just wanted the key, to see what was inside the safe.

His thoughts were distracted as he looked at a girl who had just appeared. Kel had seen this girl before, out of a the plenty of students that were in the school, you were bound to know some of students, whom you'd seen since your first year and up. He knew this girls name was Eva, but that was all he knew. He hadn't ever had a actual conversation with the girl. "I'm fine." Jordan said, giving his signature flirty smile, to the good looking girl. "I'm Jordan Westfield? You?" he asked.

After she had said, that maybe he should use a charm or something. Jordan was too stubborn and probably couldn't be arsed to do it. "Naw mate.." Jordan said stepping back and winking at the girl for one last time. Then started to run. "Allow it!" He said in his Yardie slang and jumped into the water, wondering if the girl would follow him.

Eva kicked her flip flops off uncovering the little tiny voodoo doll tattoo that she had on her foot. She had begged her parents to get it for her birthday the year before and when they said no, her sister Bianca found a muggle tattoo artist and went out on a date with him to get it done for her. It hurt like hell but she loved it and loved her sister for going through such lengths to get it for her. She looked over at the boy Jordan. “I’m Eva DeLuca.” She replied a little quietly.

Eva knew all about people be stubborn, partially because she was stubborn herself. She had to learn things the hard way around, even when she knew better. She could tell from the sound of his slang that he had come from the projects. Even in the wizarding world she knew people came from subsidized government housing. She didn’t quite understand what he meant when he said allow it, but she quickly lost her dress and was down in her bathing suit following after him into the water.

“Don’t let the Selkies get you.” She said laughing. “You know they like to bite sometimes.” She jumped in the lake, feeling like a fool. But after she had hung out with Katie and Tyler, she knew she had to be just a little bit more outgoing. It was fun. Liberating almost and she liked it.

Jordan had to admit he had jumped in no questions asked just to impress the girl a little bit. But apart from that, he couldn't stop thinking about where he could find the key. His body was in the water already when Eva started to speak, but his head was still out. So he could hear what Eva had said. "Selkies or no selkies, love. Imma find what I'm lookin for." Jordan said cockily, diving underwater and swimming deeper and deeper.

As he swam farther, he could see that the girl had followed him. Great, he had company. It would come in handy if a Selkie attacked, but apart from that, he felt like he would be slowed down. He kept swimming until he could see a small light reflect from the lumos spell on his wand. It was towards the left into a tiny cave that looked like he couldn't fit through.

If it wasn't for the fact that he'd lose air, Jordan would have let out a scream. He turned around for a moment to look at Eva. Then turned back to the small cave. He pointed his wand towards it. Accio, key! He had casted non verbally. He had heard a small clank from what he could hear through the water. His eyes widened. Either the key had gotten stuck, or the key was covered by something.

Accio, box.

Slowly a small box, that had a clip closing it. He grabbed it with a sparkle in his eyes.. He had finally found something. He smiled and turned back to Eva, and made a motioning with his hand to show that it was that box he had been looking for. His smile suddenly wiped off when he could see something nearing Eva. He looked closely.. A Selkie.

Jordan pointed his wand at it and shot the stun curse out of his wand. Sending the selkie back. A few seconds after that Selkies came to crowd then. He gave a look at Eva. We are so screwed.

Eva dived under the water. She wasn't afraid of selkies, but she knew some people were. Didn't they drown the ones that were afraid? Many of people had been known after all to fall prey to them hadn't they? She could hold her breath if needed but she wasn't sure how long that would be.

Jordan's stun had just barely missed Eva as she turned to see the Selkie being sent backwards. Her eyes grew wide as she saw a swam of selkies depending onto them. She returned Jordan's look to him as she pointed her wand at her head and cast a bubble head charm so she could breathe and speak normal.

Turning to look at Jordan she asked, "What now?" She wasn't sure what she should do. She had never been caught in such trouble before and let's face it. Eva and Jordan were in quite a bit of trouble.

Jordan gripped that box as if it were pure gold and he was a poor man. He had to admit that the selkies did intimidate him.. Well, a swarm of them did. One suddenly lunged at him, and he sent the stun spell straight across its face, sending it back. "The key stays here!" One of the selkies said.
"The key is mine." Jordan responded boldly, holding on. The selkies were now so crowded that he couldn't even see the surface anymore.

He didn't need a bubble head charm, as he though how to clear out a passageway so he could apparte out with Eva. Wait. The force could maybe push the selkies out. He grabbed Eva around the waist and looked at her straight in the eyes. "Hold on, love." He said. Then he closed his eyes and pushed, letting the white light that came when he apparated go out of him and burst through the selkies, tightly holding the box and Eva.

He was suddenly on top of the surface, and gasped for air, with the box next to him. "Air. Sweet. Air."

Eva's eyes grew wide as she heard the Selkies speaking to Jordan. Key? she thought to herself. Eva wasn't so much afraid of the Selkies as most people would have been. She had watched her beloved sister take her final breath and so she had learned at a young age that death wasn't something to really be afraid of. She knew with Selkies if they couldn't hold the fear of death over you, you should theoretically be alright.

She had almost lost sight of Jordan in the crowd of selkies that had begun to crowd around them. Well this just got turned into a faaantastic day. she thought as Jordan grabbed hold of her. "Wait what?" she asked grabbing hold of him just in time to apparate them out of the lake.

Once they reached the surface the charm had popped and she looked over at Jordan gasping for air. "Look I know you want to breathe and all, but I really think we should head back to shore. Selkies are known for dragging their prey back into the depths to drown them." Eva said looking at him as she started to make her way towards the shore, "And I don't know about you, but I don't rightly want to become selkie chow today."

Jordan had finally taken a deep breathe of air until he looked at the box. There was something missing. He only held the box. Where was his wand? The thoughts of him having dropped it when he burst out apparating. So now there he was, wandless, like Eva had said. Most likely a Selkie would bring him down to the water and yeah he would basically die. Which brought him to the fact where they called Hogwarts safe. But they had a tree that stomped on anything close, and a Selkie infested lake. Why had he chosen to come to Hogwarts? He could have perfectly gone to Durmstrang, or the school in Nigeria, or something else.

He took a look at Eva. He felt bad for having dragged her into this, as he swam towards shore with her, he quickly stopped and looked at the girl. "Listen, I appreciate the help back there, yeah?" He said, his Yardie accent came with finishing sentences in "Yeah" some times. She was an alright girl, helping someone she knew nothing about. Even though he didn't know her really, he felt like she could be a trustworthy person. "Take this, and head back to shore. My wand's down there." He handed the box to Eva. "I'll be back in a minute, yeah?" He told the girl. And before he could say another word, he already felt Selkies tugging on his legs. Jordan had reacted quick enough to push Eva farther, while the Selkies dragged him down.

"Where is the key?!" A group of them kept replying. Jordan having been dragged around the water and being attacked. He growled and started swinging as as fast as he could underwater. Then he swam to his full speed, not having enough energy to apparate until he could find his wand. He kept swimming until he found the ebony wood wand on the sea floor.

He grabbed it happily, and turned around. Only to reveal that a bigger swarm of Selkies were coming at him. "Well this is just splendid, innit?"

Oh great. Eva thought as they made it back to the shore. Her wand was still in her hand as he had told her that his wand was still at the bottom of the lake. How in the world could he have dropped it? she wondered but quickly realized that he must have dropped it when they disapparated out of the water. She felt rather foolish for even thinking it. “Uh, no problem?” she replied to Jordan a little questioningly as she took the box and managed to get it onto the shore before he had a chance to get pulled under.

Don’t show your fear….don’t let the selkies know you are afraid of anything. she repeated to herself over and over like a mantra until she made it to the shore. Eva practically threw the box onto the shore, moving her hair out of her face as she turned around to see Jordan get pulled under by the Selkies. She was torn. Did she help him? Part of her said not to, because she didn’t know him, but the bigger part of her said to help him and gave her the urge to go back towards the water.

Eva pointed her wand into the water sending a light to see if she could see anything or at least help Jordan to see where his wand was. She bit her lip. She really didn’t want to get caught up with the Selkies but she knew that she needed to go back into the water. “If he isn’t back up here in one minute I’m going after him.” Eva said to herself sighing.
