Back From the Dead

Christabelle began walking down the street of a neighborhood she remembered before she moved back to Germany in such a rush. She thought that some of her friends might still live on that road but she doubted that any of them would truly remember her. And why would they? She gave them no notion of leaving or any indication of when she'd be back. Not that she could really. She had received an urgent message to come home for her father's death and had not managed to return.

She pulled her jacket around her tighter as the wind blew in through the trees, rustling the leaves. She tucked a stray curl behind her ear and walked at a faster pace, as if she could out run the chill in the air. "I should have worn some warmer clothes." she said to herself coming across a house and standing in front of it. It looked familiar but she couldn't quite put her finger on where she remembered it from, or who had lived there to begin with. She had really been gone far too long.

It was a rainy and cloudy day, which was perfect for Sophia seeing how she needed to get some baby clothes for her niece Ciara. She couldn't wait to see her niece Ciara this weekend, she is so precious to her. Sophia thought she was the most adorable baby ever, she couldn't wait to see Ryo her brother and Maura again. It been a week or so since she saw them, but Maura kept her updated on how things were. Walking out of her house, Sophia smiled at the weather before grabbing a umbrella and closing her door.

About to get in her car, she seen a familiar girl looking around the place. "No... that isn't Christy is it?"Sophia asked her eyes changing gold. Sophia wondered if she even regonize her due to her changing some. For one she was a taller and she was now blond, but she had ability to change her hair or eye color though. Looking at the girl for a minute she looked away putting her stuff in her car.

Christy stood and watched the girl walk out of the house. She didn't recognize the hair but the face she knew immediately. "Soph, is that you?" she asked walking up to her. "Please tell me I'm not going crazy and it really is you. Though to be fair I wouldn't have ever pictured you with blonde hair." She pulled the hood to her jacket over her hair as it was starting to turn colder and the mist was slowly soaking her down.

It made sense to her being a seer why the house would have looked familiar if Soph had lived there or had been there. She had gone for a walk looking for someone she knew, anyone in fact that she could reconnect with. "I guess I'm back from the dead so to speak. Well back from Germany anyway." She went on to say laughing a little bit. "At least someone in my family would be since I'm back here."

Sophia chuckled and smiled. " No you're not going crazy, it's me. " said Sophia honestly. Sophia pouted playfully at her. " I'm hurt Christy, you don't think blonde a good color on me?"Sophia asked her. " I honestly thought I rocked being blonde. "said Sophia honestly. " I can change it though, that's the great things about being a Metamorphagus."said Sophia smiling. " Oh ,my gosh, I'm so glad to see you!"said Sophia hugging her.

" So much as changed, and not for the better either!Sophia muttered darkly. " I'm sure you heard about the damn marriage law and thr decrees at Hogwarts. " said Sophia rolling her eyes. " A bunch of B.S. In my opinion, we should be able to marry who we want."said Sophia honestly. "The world isn't the same as I remember it. " said Sophia sighing. " I remember when we went to Hogwarts, we didn't have all this. "said Sophia softly.

Christy hugged Sophia back. She was taking in all this information. Marriage law? What marriage law? They hadn't implemented one in Germany yet. "I never said you didn't look good as a blonde I just thought it weird to see you as one." She replied, "But you'll never be able to rock the veela blonde." It was only a half hearted smile. She felt she had lost her heart a long time ago when she returned to Germany.

She did however raise her voice with some concern, "Marriage law?" she asked staring at her, "What marriage law and decrees at Hogwarts? Is the English ministry trying to control every little thing we do here? I haven't implemented any type of marriage law in Germany and I've been Deputy Mistress of Magic for a few years now. The previous Deputy Minister now sits in my fathers position as I was too young to be forced to it. However I wasn't forced to give up other things apparently."

"Oh yes, they been doing this damn bloody law ever since the new year rolled in!said Sophia darkly. " They gotten a new headmistress and after they did Hogwarts gotten all these decrees like no clubs in Hogwarts and no half breeds are allowed at Hogwarts. " said Sophia her eyes getting red just talking about it. " As for this marriage law, you fill out a paper and send in and when they find your 'match' you have a meeting and then you'll suppose to get married in an three time frame and produce a child in one year " said Sophia. " Use to be three years to produce a baby but they just recently change that!"said Sophia annoyed. " Just makes me sick talking about it. "said Sophia.

" Oh did I forget to tell you if you don't follow this law, it's a straight ticket to Azkaban?"Sophia asked her. " If I haven't it's true, although they haven't found me a match so I'm good. "said Sophia. " Just be careful Christy, alot of people are leaving the country. "said Sophia honestly. " I don't believe in love anymore, but I'm here to protect my friends and my little brother Ryo and his wife Maura. " said Sophia. " There the only family I have, seeing how I lost everyone but them. "said Sophia softly holding back tears.

Christabelle busted out laughing. A three day time frame? What in the hell was this mess all about? "I'm sorry but find your match and set up a meeting?" she asked raising an eyebrow. "I mean granted my parents marriage was arranged but they had known each other for a few years before anything was arranged." She couldn't believe that. Of course people were leaving the country for that. Why wouldn't they. "As for the one year to produce a child are they dolling out fertility treatments to help this happen? From my understanding it can take couples over a year to produce a child."

"Well hopefully I won't have to fight this. Last time I was here I had diplomatic immunity due to who my father was. We don't have anything like that in Germany despite the fact many pure-blooded families are producing squibs and adopting them off to muggles. If you ask me I think we would be better off introducing some muggle blood back into the wizarding world. For years they managed to marry and produce children without any problem. If I remember right the witch hunts changed that."

Sophia nodded. " Yup they find your match and you have three weeks to know them and get married!"said Sophia rolling her eyes. Sophia shrugged. " I don't know, it used to be three but they moved it for something stupid reason. " said Sophia honestly. " I mean we just can't pop babies out like a gumball machine!"said Sophia darkly. " It does take longer to have a child, but the ministry doesn't care there's messed up in the head. "said Sophia. " Ruining our , lives once again!"said Sophia sighing to herself.

" Hopefully you don't, so far I been lucky to dodge the bullet. "said Sophia honestly. " That's probably why so many people are leaving, alot of people went to America and stuff. "said Sophia. " There trying to get more half bloods I guess, I honestly don't get the point of this stupid law. "said Sophia honestly. " God I went through a lot of crap, I never thought I'll never see the day, the ministry makes you marry someone you don't know or love. "said Sophia darkly.

"Well we must be back in the dark ages Soph." She said rolling her eyes. "You know if it gets too bad you are more than welcome to receive asylum in Germany. I know someone with some pull there." She laughed as she said this. She pulled her jacket around her a little tighter. The air was getting colder by the minute and it was raining more so than the light mist they had been getting a few minutes ago.
"Do you know somewhere we can go to catch up that's out of this damn rain?" She asked wondering why she didn't bring an umbrella with her when she left the small apartment that she was staying in. A shoebox was a more accurate description of the place she was staying in. It had to have been half the size of her bedroom back home.

"We must be Christy, we must be in the hell hole again!"said Sophia sighing. " As much as I would love to Christy, I can't I'm assistance director of St. Mungo's I just can't leave. " said Sophia. " The hospital needs me to run the hospital when Khaat and Robert are away. " said Sophia honestly. Sophia was very good at her job, and very loyal to St. Mungo's. " Ugh... why didn't I become a auror like I wanted?"Sophia asked.

Although she knew why, because she had a talent for helping people and she loved doing it. " We can go back into my house if you like."said Sophia pointing back to her house. "Sure beats being out here in the rain. "said Sophia honestly. " Come on, lets go inside. "said Sophia heading back towards her house unlocking the door.
