You can't put things off forever

Rebecca was getting married, or she was supposed to be getting married.The Slytherin was still confused about the outcome of his sisters meeting, she'd kept rather quiet about the whole thing. All she insisted was that she wouldn't be getting married but if Cupid knew his sister, and he knew her well, she wasn't one to break rules - especially the law. However one thing that did worry him was how stubborn she could be. The blonde didn't know anyone as stubborn as her.

There were other problems Cupid had on his mind. His OWL's were drawing nearer and although he was rather confident that he'd pass everything in order to take subjects to NEWT he would at least need an exceeds expectations - something Rebecca forever reminded him of. In addition there was the petrified student he'd stumbled across, his own mysteries to solve on whether the chamber of secrets had reopened. It would be dangerous, what if he came face to face with a basalisk? But it would be worth it, it would be worth the glory and the fame. Fame that could spread outside of Hogwarts if people were to figure out what he had unraveled. However his troubles didn't end there: Medusa.

Medusa had figured out they were half siblings, something that had shocked Cupid. Even now, two months after the discovery, he was still bamboozled about the whole situation. Sure the Slytherin had spoken to her, well, he'd say hello, the occasional nod in passing but a full on conversation hadn't occured since the meeting by the frozen lake. It was odd, Cupid swore that Katie was trying to push them into a discussion, everytime they agreed to meet up Medusa would mysteriously walk by or be brought up in conversation. Whether she was deflecting from her own secrets Cupid didn't know all he knew was how to evade the situation: 'I forgot something', 'I need to meet Becca', 'I have to see Professor Cooper about a piece of charms homework.'

Thankfully that wouldn't be happening today, hopefully not anyway. The library was mainly dominated by fifth and seventh years preparing for their upcoming exams - major exams that could affect their careers. As a result Cupid hadn't hesitated in a study session with Katie, who he was now sat with in a corner of the library by the transfiguration section.

Medusa had tons of homework preparing her for her OWLs which apparently was next year. Although Medusa already had top marks, but she wanted to be prepared for them. She noticed Katie was freaking out over them, studying like crazy them. She seen Cupid having to calm her down a couple of times in the corridors as she freaked out about homework and studying. Of course rumors about them going out since Valentines Day was still going around school seeing how they were always together. Katie told her various times that her and Cupid were just friends, Medusa sense there was more.

Medusa wondered if he knew that Katie was dating Jeremy now. Medusa honestly didn't like it, she knows that Jeremy was going to hurt her again. Medusa tried telling Cupid and Becca, but every time she did they ran off. She knew if Katie told them wouldn't they approve of it. Medusa didn't but she kept it from Cupid, Becca and everyone.

Seeing Katie and Cupid studying together Medusa bit her lip before looking down angrily at the note Jeremy told her to give Katie or else. She didn't want to find out what else was, so she took the note. " There you are Katie, Jeremy told me to give you this. "said Medusa handing her the note. "Why don't you read it Katie?"Medusa asked her smirking. " I - I'll read it later."said Katie looking down at her book.

"It was pretty urgent, Jeremy wanted me to give it you right away."said Medusa honestly. " Um... Dessa, that's enough! I'll read it later ok?"Katie asked as Medusa sighed. "Alright fine. "said Medusa sighing. She wanted her to read it in front of Cupid so he'll know she was dating him secretly.

Cupid stared suspiciously from Medusa to Katie. Why was Jeremy having Medusa pass on private, pretty urgent notes to Katie? The last time Katie had mentioned Jeremy it wasn't a good thing she said, in fact he'd been absent from most of their conversations until now. Now Jeremy had been brought up again. Was Katie hiding something from him.

'Ka-'

'You two need to sort things out.' Katie said, catching Cupid off guard and distracting him from the topic of conversation. However before Cupid even reply Katie had gathered up her things and tucked her chair under the desk. 'You two need to talk, sort things out.' She said softly with a friendly smile before, taking her note with her, leaving the siblings alone.

Watching her leave Cupid looked up at Medusa. Great. As if his Ravenclaw friend had left him in this situation, of all the situations she decided to leave him in this. Of course it had been her plan for several weeks, almost months, and finally she'd succeeded.

'What did that note say?' Cupid asked, hoping to distract Medusa from the fact that in all honesty they really did need to talk.

As Katie left them, Medusa looked at Katie giving her a 'how dare you' look before shaking her head. " I'll get you later Katelyn. "Medusa muttered to herself annoyed. Every time her and Cupid were alone, things were very awkward indeed. Medusa haven't talked to him since he asked where Katie was when she was in St. Mungo's. Even that didn't end to well, Medusa remembered getting him wet with ice, at the time she didn't care but now she regretted it.

When he asked what the note said, Medusa jumped as he spoke to her. "I honestly don't know what's so urgent that he wants her to meet her at the lake." said Medusa rolling her eyes. "I can't believe she's dating that stupid prick, he's just trying to get to third base with her!"said Medusa. "I saw him kissing another girl, biggest man whore I know now."said Medusa honestly. "I want to tell her, I just don't know how. "said Medusa sighing.

Seeing a necklace around Cupid's neck, Medusa smirked. "Wait a minute, are you wearing the necklace Katie gave you for your birthday?"Medusa asked him. "I heard you wouldn't be caught wearing it because it's to girly and you didn't want to get laughed at."said Medusa smirking at him. " If it's to girly why are you wearing it?"Medusa asked him crossing her arms. " Wait a minute, you like Katie don't you? don't lie Cupid and tell me your wearing it just because she gave it to you, I know you think it's to girly for you that's why you wear it under your shirt. said Medusa simply. " You like her even though you don't want to admit it yet. "said Medusa.

" Anyways, Katie met with him this morning, when he gave her birthday present. "said Medusa. "And what you know it's a stupid diamond necklace that's around her neck!"Medusa scowled. " Ugh.... I'm going to stop, this all is making me angry. "said Medusa. "But now you know. "said Medusa softly but honestly. " She kept it from your cause she knew that you and the others wouldn't approve of it. "said Medusa simply.

After hastily tucking the necklace underneath his shirt Cupid rolled her eyes whilst Medusa entered a verbally frenzy about almost everything on her mind. Cupid didn't know whether it was excessive speaking out of nerves or simply she could be a cheery girl, she had grew up with a Father perhaps that was why she was so cheerful. Well, not entirely cheerful as the fact Katie was now dating Jeremy had clearly annoyed her.

'They're not dating?' Cupid frowned, unsure whether Medusa was playing a practical joke, granted she was a good actress if that was the case. 'And I don't like Katie I just feel rude not to wear it' around her. He those final two words to himself however. It was true though, he only wore the necklace when Katie was with him or if they planned to meet up and he would take it off before entering the common room after seeing her - the last thing he wanted was to be laughed at.

If Katie was dating Jeremy that was news to Cupid and if it turned out to be true then he had a lot to say to her, he'd also tell Rebecca too along with Kenneth. It wasn't Cupid loved to gossip, well, that wasn't true he did enjoy knowing things others didn't, but he was awful at keeping secrets unless of course someone was keeping one of his own then he would tread carefully to make sure they didn't spill the beans on him in anger.

"Oh there dating Cupid, been dating for a week now. "said Medusa sighing. " He's just using her, I tried telling her but she doesn't believe me. " said Medusa frowning. Medusa nodded. " Right..."said Medusa not quite believing Cupid's reason for wearing the necklace. " Weather you believe me or not that Katie with him I'm telling you the truth. "said Medusa. " I got to get back to my homework. " said Medusa walking away from him.

Medusa didn't know what it was, but she couldn't talk to Cupid without it being awkward or there was a bickering match between them. Medusa didn't know what she did to Becca and Cupid, but they just seemed to bump heads. Medusa always wanted siblings, but she didn't want them to hate her. Apparently they did, and after trying to get along with them, Medusa gave up on trying anymore. She honestly didn't care if they hated her or not anymore.

Medusa used to care about pleasing them, but since Katie's accident she could care less about them. She knew it was rude and cruel, but they didn't care about her why should she? Medusa told Katie this, but she insisted on them making amends with each other. Medusa knew it wasn't going to make any difference, they hated each other. That how it was, some siblings liked each other, to where some couldn't be in the same room together. That was her, Becca and Cupid they were like fire and gasoline they didn't mix.
