think you can just come waltzing in?

After Eleven Long years, Cecilia finally got to see her little Mollie get a letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. The mother and daughter were so excited as they planned a birthday/going away party for the girl that would consist of a few friends and some family. It would be the biggest party they would have had at their little home.
“Mama, can we invite my father?” Mollie asked quietly. She could faintly remember what he looked like thanks to a photo he had left with her when he left.
“Your father left us, baby,” Cecilia replied, “He never truly wanted either of us,” She pulled her daughter over to the sofa and sat down allowing Mollie to sit in her lap as she held her. “I’m sure even if we did he wouldn’t come.”
“I know, mama, I just wish I knew him.”
“You don’t need him, with the way he treated us.” Cecilia whispered.
“I know,” the girl was sad but any girl who didn’t know her father would be, “Will Raphel be there?”
“I’m not sure, baby. You know how he is, here one minute gone the next. Come on lets go bake some cookies for the party.” Cec said kissing her daughter on her face.
Mollie had grown in to a beautiful young girl, and she would grow to be a beautiful young woman. Her once blonde hair had gradually gotten darker and she had grown it out long like her mothers. Where Mollie had once looked like Nick she now looked like Cecilia.
“Okay, Mama. I’ll go to get the stuff we will need out. What kind should we make?” she said getting up and stalking into the kitchen.
“Any kind you want baby.” Cecilia said quietly.

It had been nearly eleven years since Nick had to make the choice to leave Mollie with Cecilia. Nick now was married with two children. Quelyn left Nick's home one day about five years ago. But Mollie would be going to Hogwarts this year and it was time for him to see his daughter. Cecilia had probably brainwashed his daughter into thinking he was some type of egotistical bad person, but that wasn't the case. Nick left Cecilia not Mollie.

Nick had apperated to their small home. It smelled like cookies coming from inside. So maybe Mollie was well taken care of. He slowly and nervously knocked on the door. He wondered if Mollie would hate him. What would she look like? How was she? Was she healthy? How was Cecilia? Was she with Raphael? Probably not. All these came to mind while waiting for an awnser to the door.

"Mollie stay here," Cecilia said wiping her hands off on a dish rag as she went to answer the door.
"Okay, mama" Mollie replied cheerfully from the kitchen.
Stopping at the mirror in the hall she made sure there was not flower or anything on her face and then turned to the door. her hand went around the cold door knob and slowly she turned it. Cec didn't realize she was holding her breath until the door was open and she was staring at the face of none other than Nick Potter. "I'll be right back!" Cec called over her shoulder and stepped out side shutting the door behind her. "What are you doing here?" Cecilia asked him narrowing her eyes at Nick. He thought that after eleven years he could just waltz back into Mollies life. She was doing fine with out him.

Nick's eyes were saddened at the sight of Cecilia. She was all there was between him and Mollie. "It's been eleven years Cecilia. I would really like to see my daughter before she goes to Hogwarts. I never left Mollie. I left you. I couldn't put up with the constant fighting. I love Mollie though. Not a day has passed since I thought about her. I think about her everyday. I gave you eleven years. Please give me a few hours." Nick said with tears in his eyes. He really wanted to just push Cecilia out of the way and see his first child. "I want to show you something." He said softly. He pulled out a picture, the same picture Mollie had. "This is all I have of her." He told her.

"You walked out on her! what makes you think your welcome back in?" Cecilia said in a harsh cold whisper. "She is happy with out you in her life." she crossed her arms over her chest, "How can i trust you with her? How can i know your not just going to break her heart by showing up here today and just walking out? You can't just walk in and out of her life when ever you please, whenever its convenient for you!" Cecilia was still speaking in the the low whisper knowing Mollie would hear her and wonder whats going on outside. This way she just thought it was some muggle trying to sell something to her mother.

Nick sat down on the stone step leading up to Cecilia's porch. Tears began to fall from his eyes. All he wanted was to see Mollie. But Cecilia did have some valid points. What if showing up now broke the girl's heart? "Cecilia I never walked out on her. Our constant fighting had to stop. One of us had to go." He said through tears. A sudden gust of wind swept Nick's baby picture of Mollie out of his hand. Now he had nothing. "She never wanted to meet me? She never even asked about me?" Nick asked trying to hold back tears.

"There were other ways than for you to leave!" Cecilia said coldly, "neither of us had to leave her. She had asked about you asked me to tell me of you almost every night. What was i suppose to tell her? That her father loved her? Obviously you wouldn't have left if you did! I told her the only thing i knew how to tell her, that you left. What you did to me with out all the gory details." Cecilia brushed her hair out of her face and looked back at the door. Mollie was bound to be on the other side peeking out the window. "She's watching us, wondering whats going on. She knows i'm out here with someone. I'm never away from her for that long. Prove you can be trusted with her and you can see her!"

Nick smiled, Mollie did want Nick around. "How can I prove to you that I can be trusted with her? I'll do anything." Asked Nick. He stood up and turned around to see a small glimpse of Mollie's hair and face. She looked nearly just like Cecilia with some qualities of himself. "I can see her a little bit. She knows I'm out here." He told Cecilia. "I'm almost always on tv. I'm a famous Quidditch player. If Mollie wants to see me and I'm not around, look for the Falmouth Falcon's games. I'm the Chaser in the middle, number eighteen. I also took the precautions to hide Mollie from the media." He explained to her.

"You come back to her for good, to us. We work together as parents instead of you parenting her your way and I parenting her mine." Cecilia said quietly. She had never stopped loving Nick even if he had moved on from her. She how ever had settled to live without him and only Mollie. She saw people from time to time but she never dated nor married. "I'm not saying you leave them, but you can't leave her again." She said quietly. Turning she opened the door and stepped partly inside. "Mollie, dear, come here, baby. I know your watching out the windows."
"What do you want, Mama." she said quietly moving toward her mother.
"I want you to come out here with me." Cecilia said wrapping her arm around her daughters shoulder keeping her close to her as they moved outside with nick.
"Who is it?" Mollie asked wishing she could stand behind her mom.
"His name is Nick." Cecilia said keeping Mollie close to her on the porch. She looked at nick over Mollie's shoulder giving a look that said not to touch her daughter.

Nick's eyes dropped. She looked so different then he imagined her to be. She had out grown her blonde hair. Nick crouched down and hugged his daughter. He muttered the words "thank you" to Cecilia. "Mollie I'm your dad." He said softly. He never wanted to let go of Mollie. He'd waited eleven years for this moment and he never wanted it to end. He loved this child. But how did she think of this moment?
