Throwdown of the Century Empty Throwdown of the Century

Post by Brian Sullivan Thu May 09, 2013 11:57 pm

For weeks Brian had been giving out flyers to his party, but he was not doing it outright, he had been handing them out on a piece of parchment that talked about a study hour in the Library. Through word of mouth people would know to tap the piece of paper to reveal the real location and the actual event that was taking place. Brian had been wanting to throw a party of his own for quite some time now, and it wasn't until he stumbled upon the room of requirement that he had his epiphany. A room that was full of everything needed for a party, and it could be all his, as long as he got the door to open for him.

The stage was set, and as he stood in front of the door that would give him access to the ultimate party, his excitement was unparallelled to anything he had felt before. The door opened and inside blossomed the perfect place. Balloons, tables, music, alcohol, everything that the party goes would ever need was right on the other side. His grin could not be contained as he entered the room, he was the first to arrive, and he could not be happier. There were three themes to the room, all the Hogwarts houses, and it would allow for people to socialize in their own little bubble if they did not want to be with the other houses. Every house had their own table, food, and even their own drinks. In the middle of the room was a huge dance floor that was surrounded by the house themed areas, and at the forefront of the dance floor, was a huge music station. It could either play music magically or it had the option for people to play their own music. There was also a small bar that people could go to and get their own special drinks if they wanted.

Tonight would be a night unlike anyone had experienced before, and it was all going to be thanks to Brian. Heck, he was in the mood to chat with a few Slytherin's, nothing could bring him down. He made his rounds and he made sure everything was perfect before people started funneling in. Some would be ready, others would feel left out, but one thing was certain, people were going to have fun.

The door was not open yet. Wally shoved her way through the corridors, trying to hurry on before anyone reached the door. She quickly paced, thinking as it was appropriate, and the door to the Room of Requirement appeared for her, just as obedient as a loyal dog might come when its master called.

She pushed on the door, knocking rapidly a few times, before slipping in. She looked about and her eyes fell on Brian Sullivan. "Brian! Early, am I? Perfect." She held out a hefty bag, showing him. "I have business - secret business." She smirked and then hurried over to the refreshments.

"Mind if I, er, dress up your refreshments? Add sprinkles and glitter, huh?" She pulled out a few vials and began mixing them into the various drinks. She pocketed the vials and looked about. "Good - no one will even know I was here. I'll be seeing you then." And she made her way for the door. Sure, she'd get everyone else hyped up, but it didn't mean she wanted to watch it.

((The drinks have been spiked with Sugar and Spice. Read here to see the various effects they have.))

She was searching for the seventh-floor unused classroom. Seventh-floor unused classroom.

She needed a place to read. Her mother had just owled her (ugh, those birds were freaky) a first-class edition of Dicken's 'A Tale Of Two Cities' and she was determined to read it properly. With a silent room, and moonlight, and peace. So when she enquired of the fifth-years on where to find such a place, they immediately pointed her to the seventh floor.

Rika however tramped all over the floor, and nowhere could she find an unused classroom. The floor was rather devoid of rooms, actually. Broom closets everywhere. And ugly tapestries, the crowning glory going to some barmy fellow who was instructing trolls in the fine art of ballet. She circled the floor several times, finding nothing...except...wait..

Do your eyes deceive me, or did that door just pop out of nowhere?

Rika pushed it experimentally, and poked her head in. Oh no. Definitely not unused classroom. She tiptoed in, and the door closed behind her with a bang. Rika winced. Well, the purpose of that was defeated quite spectacularly.

Rika had seen enough parties (attended none, as a matter of fact), to know that one hell of a party was going to be held in this room. Which meant she had to leave right now. Which she would have done, if she hadn't seen a fellow Ravenclaw drop something into the drinks in front of her eyes.

Rika's eyes bugged out. What the hell. Shit. Her eyes swerved around, and fixated on the guy probably organizing the entire thing. She approached him tentatively, her voice unsure, but strengthened by the possibility that the students deserved to know. She could leave after informing, "Umm...excuse me? You don't know me but...." Her index finger pointed out the blonde rapidly exiting the room. "I think that girl just spiked the drinks...your drinks. So you can do whatever you do when drinks are spiked. Set things right." She suddenly realised she was sounding like an utterly naive prude, which she was.....but that wasn't the point here. "I mean..uh..if you want to set things right, that is. Or you may actually like it. I guess. If you don't though, don't get offended. Even though I don't have the right to tell you not to do something...." She bit her lip.

I think that's enough of talking. Brenda was sounding ridiculously amused, for a disembodied voice inside her head.

Molly had been talking to Brian, and he had told her about this study group that he was a part of. She had been wanting to find one, because she desperately needed some help with some, well, most of her subjects at the moment. She still had four more exams left, and only one of them she was actually happy with.

Molly walked up and down the corridor on the seventh floor, as Brian had told her. He had said she needed to 'think of the room where everyone is having fun in'. She didn't think of studying as fun, but whatever. She thought of the room in her head, confused by this kind of magic. Suddenly, a door appeared in front of her. She cautiously opened it, slowly stepping into the room. The door then slammed behind her, announcing to everyone that she had arrived.

It was then that she looked around the room. Food and drinks. No desks or books to be seen. What was this place, howcome Hogwarts had a room like this? She didn't think it would be useful to any classes, and probably not any extra curricular activities either. This looked like some form of social event, a party of sorts. Not that Molly had ever been invited to a party before, but she assumed that was what this was. There were a few people around the room. She didn't know most of them, though that wasn't a surprise, considering her lack of social activity. Molly did however spot Brian across the room. Annoyed that he'd lied to her, she marched across the room towards here.

"Hey Brian, ready to study?" she said sarcastically at him. "No? Funny about that." she continued, her voice louder than it usually was, though not quite shouting at him.
"See, when you have to lie to someone to get them to come, that says something. Maybe that they don't want to be there. So don't even bother." she finished, staring him straight in the face. It was unusual for her to be this vocal, but she was annoyed and frustrated. As soon as she thought she was getting somewhere. someone who she thought was a friend lied to her to get her to come and party. Her first party invite, a secret one. Molly wasn't sure what to think, but she was too annoyed at the moment to be thinking about her first Hogwarts party.

Throwdown of the Century Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Henri Finch Fri May 10, 2013 9:54 pm

Henri brought a posse - four stunningly gorgeous and barely dressed girls, and five devilishly good looking guys surrounded her as she strode into the party that was supposed to be the party of the year. She considered it her coronation as Hogwarts Queen - the night she would turn a regular party into legend.

It hadn't started off so well - she came in to see the Australian girl trying to leave and two other girls B**** at Brian - and lo and behold, one of them was the thorn in her side. Henri pushed it away. If she kept Erika here, she could do so much more damage.

"Ladies, ladies, ladies!" She announced. "The party's just beginning. Tonight, we are young and free and if we don't seize the day, it will seize us! Let's get this party going before we regret it, shall we?"

With that, the doors opened and the people who had been arriving outside began to pour inside. Henri grabbed two of her male escorts and told them to guard the door, not let anyone out for the first twenty minutes at least. Then she grabbed her best looking girl, her best looking guy, and led them out to the floor. With a flick of her wand, the volume of the music increased and she began dancing between her friends, hoping it was enough to break the ice for everyone else. Her little posse began going around, dragging people out to the dance floor.

Throwdown of the Century Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Hallie Cooper Sat May 11, 2013 6:29 pm

Hallie had heard about Brian's party. Oh she had heard so much about it, that is was mean't to be the best party of the year. The girl, however, was torn. The obvious choice would be to go, to have fun, to enjoy her last party at Hogwarts. Next month she would be sitting her NEWT's and leaving Hogwarts for good. Gosh time had flown by. On the other hand she should be studying, the past few weeks she had slacked. Of course the other reason not to go was that it was Brian who was hosting the party. They hadn't spoken since their kiss and she couldn't stop thinking about him. How much of a jerk he was.

Hallie had only decided last minute that she was to go. Well, last minute being that morning. She wanted to enjoy the party. The party would be a chance for the seventh years to spend their last days in the castle happy. To Hallie this was her leaving party and she was going to use every opportunity to make Brian wish he hadn't not spoken to her, to make her want her. Oh how devious she felt.

After coming to the decision to go the next complication had been which outfit. She had wanted to slip into a little black number, showing a lot of thigh and not much coverage up top, although Hallie was classier than that. She'd decided to go with a cream flowing dress with a pink floral pattern. It was a real summery dress and as she stared at the way it flowed down her body to her knees she smiled. Today the sun would be setting late, she could go for a walk around the grounds first.

However, she never got round to a tranquil travel around the lake. The next problem was, what all girls have to deal with: hair. Originally that morning she was going to change herself into a brunette, after all transfiguration was her forte and she'd learnt human transformation in the sixth year. Deciding against that her blonde locks paired perfectly with the colour of her dress. Neatly grooming her fringe to the side and fastening her hair elegantly up into a twisted knot she was ready (although it took her over an hour to ensure each strand of hair was perfectly placed).

As she glided along the seventh floor corridor nervousness began to bubble in her stomach. Would Brian notice her? He had to, any hormonal teenage boy would, she'd made sure of that. Then again she was having second thoughts, her dress was classy, not revealing. Did guys go for that? Perhaps not but she felt like this was the outfit for her leaving party.

Opening the door to the room of requirement she stepped in, amazed at how the room had worked it's magic this time. A large group of girls was gathered around Henrietta Finch. Of course Henri was here. But Henri was a lot younger than Hallie, that didn't bother her, all she wanted was to make Brian's jaw drop. Then she'd be satisfied.

Post by Vivianna Varnes Sun May 12, 2013 3:15 pm

Vivianna stood outside a blank space of wall where the room of requirement was hidden. Behind the wall, a party was taking place, the so-called Throwdown of the Century. Of course, Vivianna was attending. She might not be a very social person, not usually anyways, but the witch knew the events one wanted to attend. Besides, the party was being thrown by Brian Sullivan, which meant it was bound to be fun.

Pacing back and forth three times with slow purposeful strides, her slight heel clicking against the stone floor, Vivianna smiled as a door appeared on the previously blank expanse of wall. Twisting the doorknob, the teenager entered the party.

The fifth year wasn't at all surprised to see Henri and her posse, the lead girl herself in a rather eye-catching outfit. Scanning the crowd, the presence of Hallie Cooper was hardly much of a surprise either. Although Vivianna had to admit that the Gryffindor did look quite stunning in her dress. The Slytherin herself had gone for something a little less notice-me, her own outfit being something that would allow her to party, or just blend into the background.

Throwdown of the Century Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Brian Sullivan Mon May 13, 2013 12:52 am

People were starting to file in, and the room began to go from extremely quiet, to voices talking all throughout the room. He loved the sounds of a party, random yells, music, people laughing and generally having a good time. It was awesome to see something he created erupt into something awesome.

Wally made her way into the room and she put some stuff into the punch. He chuckled at her as she came in and then just left. She was a strange woman indeed, but he kind of enjoyed her, mostly because he did not want to get his ass kicked again. He was not a fan of anything illegal like that, but he also would enjoy seeing everyone bounce off the walls, so he decided he would let it slide.

Then someone spoke to him and he spun around to come face to face with the girl who had punched Henri in the nose in Potions class. She pointed out that the drinks were spiked and he nodded his head. "Yeah, she isn't known for being on her best behavior. I have to admit, though, it will make for an interesting party. I wouldn't drink any if I were you, though, the stuff she put into it might make you crazy. You're Erika Dixon, right? The girl who punched Henri Finch right in the nose! You deserve a medal, that was awesome! Brian Sullivan by the way." He put his hand out and he smiled brightly, trying to be friendly to the girl, he had plans for her.

Then, he jumped at the sound of Molly Weasley, who sneaked up behind him. He whipped around and received a speech from her about how he lied. "Listen, Molly, I am really sorry I lied. But I knew you would never come unless I told you it was a study group. It wasn't the best thing in the world to do, I know, but I just really wanted you to be here is all." He was being genuinely honest, he had actually started to think of her as a friend, even if she was a little awkward at times.

Then the doors busted open and a group of girls busted in and completely took over. He squinted his eyes when he saw Henri Finch at the head of the group, and then he let out a loud chuckle, she would make a grand entrance like this. He had not spoken to her since their detention incident, and he had no plans to, she was a wasted cause. She was more into ruining lives than anything else.

So many things were happening at once he thought his head was going to burst. Then, his eye was caught as Hallie Cooper walked into the room, looking absolutely stunning. His head was caught in her direction for more than a few seconds, looking her up and down, and trying to make eye contact with her. He lost his train of thought for a second, before he finally came back down to earth, and returned his attention back to Erika and Molly.

"Listen, Molly, I will make it up to you I promise. But, for me, try and have a little fun tonight. You have earned it and this was the only way I was going to get you here." He smiled brightly and he gave her a friendly pat on the back."Oh, by the way, don't drink the punch." He chuckled and thought about what Molly would do if she tried the punch, probably go crazy, or finally let loose and have a good time.

He turned back to Erika after everything had gotten out of control. "Hey, you deserve a drink for what you did to Henri, try this!" He reached behind a counter where he had hidden the good stuff. "It is ninety year old wine from Italy, the best, I stole it from my father. I wasn't going to share it, but ya know, I guess this will do for your actions against that scandalous little devil. Oh, and there aren't any drugs in it." He did not give her a chance to respond, she would probably say no, but if he did it without asking he had a better chance of getting her to drink it. He poured three glasses, one for himself, Molly, and Erika.

"Cheers, to the night of our lives!"

( OK, I posted to everyone, lol. Erika, PLEASE DRINK THE WINE! I wanna see her let loose! )

Out of the corner of her eye Hallie saw Brian glance her way, his face was fixed in her direction for a fair few seconds, had he tried to make eye contact with her? A uncontrollable grin curled from her lips as she headed over to a booth set for Gryffindors. It had wonderfully padded seats with maroon bean bag chairs with gold and maroon drapes hanging behind them on the wall.

A couple of girls that she shared her dormitory with were already enjoying the party. 'Hey' Hallie said to them, smiling and taking a drink that they'd brought over

'What on earth is this?' She winced after spitting the sip that she'd taken back into the glass. She wasn't a big alcohol drinker and she didn't plan on getting drunk at all, she could taste the alcohol strong within, not noticing that another sneaky substance lurked within the liquid. Placing her glass on a low table in front of her she glanced around the room. From her beanbag she had a great view: the dance floor, the drinks area, the door and, most importantly, Brian. I do hope Maura turns up. Hallie thought to herself watching Vivianna Varnes enter the room.

Throwdown of the Century Empty Re: Throwdown of the Century

Post by Robbie Fairfax Mon May 13, 2013 3:53 am

(Just so you guys know, the drugs are odorless and tasteless when mixed into a drink. Please read about them here.)

Darcy had never been apart of the Hogwarts social scene, really. She had never been around long enough to make friends. Most of the students above fourth year knew who she was – apparently there was always a little bit of buzz when she came into port, especially among the Hufflepuffs. Despite her supposed popularity, however, Darcy never really found herself interacting with anyone significantly. Most of her time in Hogwarts was spent wishing Bryce were there, or that she was back on the ship.

For the first time ever, the date of a party fell on one of the few nights she would actually be in the castle. She was excited for it – it was supposed to be a rowdy party, so she figured it would be the equivalent of a tame sailor party. She wasn’t sure how to dress, for she really didn’t keep up with her peers’ fashion trends. She pulled out one of the few dresses she had and pulled on tights and a nice pair of boots, completely an odd, if not somewhat respectable combination that she pulled off fairly well.

She pulled a shoulder bag on and made her way to the party. The second she entered, she pulled out a bottle of rum from her bag – if she finished that drink, then she would move on to the students’ sissy little drinks. She looked about and found that she did not know anyone – but that was to be expected. One younger student seemed to be attracting a lot of attention. One of the males near the girl looked Darcy up and down and winked at her. She quirked an eyebrow and pounded down a drink of rum. This was going to be an experience.
