Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Woah... Empty Woah...

Charms class, one of the most interesting classes Talon had attended so far. Full of unpredictable people and a zany substitute teacher, both things making the class greater than what he initially thought it would be this year. It was almost sad that he had to leave that class at the end of the day, wanting to stay and practice more of his charms more. Yet, then again, he had the rest of the day off to do whatever he wished. It was almost a bit ironic, he would often have that thought, yet usually end up spending most of his time alone in the common room. That was really no way to spend one's time in a magical place like Hogwarts, but what else was he supposed to do? He was a typical loner at this point, only really talking to two of his friends who ceased to have contact with him once the school year began. Sad, really.

So Talon stood in the second floor hallway, a textbook under his arm and a straight face painted on. He wasn't sure as to what he would do with himself now, he would probably just go and read more about advanced charms somewhere, probably go check out a book in the library. Seemed like a comforting thought, yet it just didn't feel right this time. Instead of exploring some new opportunities to explore and discover, he decided to walk over to a nearby bench and sit down for the next couple of hours as other students passed on by. He didn't really have friends in his house, so it was hard for him to try and connect with the other Ravenclaws. Perhaps he was just destined to sit around and wait for the school year to be over, when he could freely go and talk with his friends again. He sighed, knowing that would take a while before the school year was over. It was sad to think of how many days you had left in a school year when it only just began.

Pulling the textbook from underneath the crook of his arm, Talon opened up the heavy book, the spine making a crackling sound as it's pages opened. He was on the subject of advanced spells still, the Patronus spell marked and ready. He had seen that spell full view at its peak and envied the students that were able to pull it off. A fifth year had conquered that spell, it was quite embarrassing to be blown out of the water like that. Well, it least it taught him humility...regardless of the fact that he already had plenty of that. He quickly flipped over to the next page, not even wanting to think about the spell, scanning the next page for anything that sounded interesting.

As he was scanning the page for any spell that sounded interesting to him, he noticed something out of the peripheral of his vision. It was a brief realization, only enough to cause him to look up out of curiosity, but once he did, his eyes widened. Could it really? Closing his book with a soft thud, he set the book down next to him, Talon immediately jumping to his feet. He felt his heart race for a second, a small smile growing onto his face. Perhaps this would be his lucky day after all. He quickened his pace enough so he stood behind her, gathering enough courage to say something. "Georgia? Is that you?" he asked, the tone of his voice reminiscent to finding an old friend. He sure hoped it was the right person...she looked almost nothing like the old Georgia he used to know...and dated.

In all honesty, Hogwarts wasn't the best place to send your child if you truly wanted them to fill their days with hard work and nights with studying. Unless you were a complete idiot you could pass your classes with some ease and spend most unstructured time gossiping, snogging your boyfriend, or reapplying makeup in the girls washroom. But fortunately for her parents, Georgia had never been one of those girls. She didn't have many friends to gossip with, a boyfriend to snog, or a face that was pretty enough to bother with makeup in the first place. Until now. But her habits hadn't quite caught up to the sudden change in social recognition and Georgie still preferred to spend her free time curled up in a corner with a book, rather then engage in the previously mentioned activities.

Georgia had just been released from Muggle Studies and was now headed back down to the common room to put her books away and prepare for an afternoon of deliciously unprofitable boredom. But before she was even half way to her desired destination she was stopped by a familiar voice. The sound of it brought forth an unexpected smile on her face. Turning to face him she stuck out her tongue a little and laughed softly "Shut up, Talon." Georgia could feel the heat on her face from a blush of embarrassment. She wanted to ask 'who else would it be?' but wasn't sure she really wanted to talk about it right now.

Georgia could see the shocked way he was staring at her and it made her a bit uncomfortable. She hadn't changed that much.. Had she? Sure she had gotten a little taller over the summer but that wasn't a reason for everyone to stare at her like she had lobsters crawling out of her ears. Changing the subject out of awkwardness she said, "It feels like I haven't seen you in forever. How was your summer?" She and Talon had started speaking again awhile ago but they still seemed to have trouble straying from the comfort of small talk. There had once been a time when Georgia had told this boy absolutely everything.. But things had changed.

For a long time, if it hadn't been for Damien, Talon would have been Georgia's best friend. It had always been easy for the two to talk and spend time together. Zero awkwardness. Then, in the spring of their forth year Talon had kissed her out of the blue. It felt only natural. Until Christmas time of last year, when he broke off their relationship as suddenly as it had begun. Georgia still couldn't figure out why. Sure, a big little part of her heart still held a place for Damien but she had thought Talon had known and accepted that. They had never been a passionate or spontaneous couple but they had been real. And after, when they stopped talking to each other, Georgia had missed him. Not her boyfriend, but her friend. She still did.

So she offered him a smile and hoped this year would be different for them.

OOC: I can edit any details about their relationship if you want. Just made up some stuff. XD

(Nah, it's all good Very Happy)

The young Ravenclaw could not believe his own eyes, even though Georgia had stood in front of him. Sure, he may had been feeling a little over-dramatic at his own response to seeing her, but the memories that had flooded in had caught him off guard. He could still remember the day clearly when they had started dating, it had made his shattered life feel a little more whole. He put everything he could into their relationship, but alas, you could only go so far before things decided to truly reveal themselves. He hated the thought that he let her go, but he felt it necessary at the time, he didn't want to bring her own personality down along with him. She hadn't deserved that.

That hadn't stopped him from acting immensely surprised as he stood in front of her, it had been a while and he had cut off all contact with her for her own benefit. He felt bad, sure, but now all of his regrets and his prior issues seemed to melt away with her appearance. Sure, it had only been since Christmas since he last saw her, but it still felt pretty damn good either way. "Yeah, it's been a while hasn't it," he said with his large smile, something that hadn't felt genuine for a long time "and my summer was alright, I uhh..." he shrugged his shoulders as a manner of thought "...did some cleaning and hung out with friends, the usual things." It was only half the truth, but he didn't want to ruin any positive feeling that was already in the air.

"What about you, how's your summer been?" he asked with his usual friendly tone. The first thing he had noticed right away had been her change in appearance. Sure, she still looked like the same old Georgia, but she seemed...different. It was very noticeable, but he just couldn't nail it down to a fine grain when it came to be descriptive. He felt a ping of regret at that thought, he wished he hadn't broke up with her after all. Perhaps she could've helped with what he had been dealing with, and things would've stayed a lot more positive for himself. What was he to do though, bring her down on his emotional roller coaster so she could face his inner demons as well? He knew it was the right choice at the time, but the present didn't exactly make things easier for him to cement his decision.

Yet her appearance didn't help keep his thoughts clear, more and more did he feel as if he had made some sort of fatal mistake. She had changed very clearly, and he was like a moth attracted to a flame. And she sure as hell was hot, that was for sure. He wondered if she still felt things for him, if there was a slightest chance for something to arise yet again, but he wouldn't doubt it if she had other plans. He'd like to stick around for the ride though, it sure as hell sounded like fun.
