Hogwart Express - A new beginning Empty Hogwart Express - A new beginning

Post by Drew Aritza Sat Jul 21, 2012 3:15 am

It was his first year going to Hogwart School of Witchcraft and Wizardly. Caiden was so excited he had already dressed up in Hogwart school robe on top of his normal clothes. Caiden slowly walked through the trains in the corridors, looking in every carriages carefully to see if there was any spot in the carriage for him. They all seem pretty full, he could not find anywhere to sit down; he was almost about to give up and sit outside in the corridor. But he was determined to find a seat so he continued searching for a seat. Finally he founds a carriage with an empty seat but filled with swarms of people. 'Hey, is this seat available?' he asked, quietly looking at each and everyone in the carriage. 'No this is full sorry, our friend is sitting here,' they responded. 'Alright.. cool,' he said softly, swallowing his disappointment and started walking off again. And so the seach began. He searched and searched. 'How many people are there in Hogwart?' he thought to himself, exasperated. Soon he finally gave up and dropped his bag onto the floor and perch himself along the wall, taking out a small muesli bar and taking a bite out of it

Talon was already feeling a little more than shaken up by the fact that he had to leave for Hogwarts, and everyone could see it on him. He never liked change, and this was the first time he'd be away from his family for an extended time. He already felt homesick, since he was in London now and not America, but thankfully his family came with him to help buy his things. His mother and father were present with him, as well as his brother and grandfather, the people he cared very much for. Even though he felt nervous though, he kept an appearance of anxiousness and excitement, knowing full well he could handle Hogwarts. After several grueling hours of shopping from his wand and finding his book, Talon and his family made their way to the platform, utterly scaring Talon when his grandfather dived through the pillar saw he had superpowers. His family laughed though, knowing their silly grandfather was a blast to hang with. But as Talon stepped near the train, his sudden appearance of being brave came crashing down. He ran and embraced his mother saying "I'll miss you guys so much..." His mother comforted him, saying that he would have a great time and that they'll be okay. Talon let go of his mother, hugged his father, and then hugged his grandfather. "You'll be alright bud," his grandfather said with a smile "just remember to always be loyal to whatever house you go into, it'll become a part of you!" "I will grandpa" Talon said, choking back tears. And with that, Talon left his family for the first time and walked onto the train.

Inside, he was greeted with many students, some looking old and some looking new as well. This was going to be a long decade. As he traversed from car to car, he kept looking for a place to reside for the journey. He met some kind kids that were ready to offer him a seat, but it was really cramped, there were some kids that were assholes and didn't even acknowledge Talon, and then there was this one kid who tried to sell him a watch, but Talon was sure it was fake so he moved along, swallowing his disappointment each time. Then, he noticed a miracle nearby, an empty cabin. He swung the sliding door open and looked in the cabin, noticing nobody's possessions were inside so it was definitely empty. As he began to step inside though, he noticed someone off the corner of his eye. He turned his head and saw another kid, about his age. "Hey," he said in the direction of the kid "there's an open cabin here if you want" And with that, he stepped inside, sitting on the right side towards the window.

Caiden sat quietly in the corridor, already going through and reading his Defence Against the Dark Art which he found quiet interesting. Every now and then he would look up from his book and couldn't help but notice some student passing by staring at him weirdly. 'What a loser,' jeered one of the older student, laughing and pointing at him. 'Aw, can't find a carriage little boy?' one of the student, rubbed Caiden hair so rough, he swore felt part of his hair tearing away from his head causing his eyes to tear up. He scowled at them and ignore them and read through his book again. God, I wish they would leave me alone. All of a sudden he heard a kids voice calling out to him about an open cabin there. 'Hmm?' Caiden said, shooting his head up to look at the kid that spoke to him. 'Oh...' he said, quietly staring at the open carriage for a few second. He was quite frankly getting a little ticked off by all these students. Caiden grabbed his bag and started to make his way to the open carriage. 'Thanks,' he said to the kid, smiling and chucking his backpack into the compartment above him. 'I'm quite surprise to see an open carriage out there, I thought they were all full,' he chuckled taking his seat opposite of the kid, right by the window.

"It's no problem," Talon said, still feeling down by the fact he had to leave his parents. For most kids, it wouldn't have been that difficult, but Talon had always been brought up in a secure environment around his parents. He wasn't sure as to what to expect at Hogwarts, besides what his grandfather had told him. Hopefully his grandfather wasn't kidding when he said things would change dramatically at Hogwarts, he could use a good change for the better. "They have to house over 1,000 kids on a couple hour journey to Hogwarts, there's bound to be many open spots." Talon tried to change his attitude as he talked to this kid, but it almost seemed impossible. He wanted to be home in America and just sit in the humid, moist air of his hometown, but he knew this was going to be a fun experience. Someway, somehow, it would be. "My name's Talon," he said "I'm from America. How about you?" Hopefully this guy was either an American or someone that didn't hate America. He didn't need that on his plate right now if he was someone who hated American.

Caiden wasn't sure what the expect from Hogwart, it was all so new to him. He couldn't help but feel excited and nervous to see what happens. But he was sure Hogwart wouldn't let him down; his mother even told his great things about Hogwart. The only thing he was worried about was his mother being alone by herself down in London. He was hoping none of her boyfriends would come and abused her. He felt quite depressed he couldn't be there for his mother. But he was sure Hogwart would worth it. Oh how he wished he could use his new wand which he brought from Olivader's Wand Shop. He would turn them into pigs they are and laugh at them as he run around clueless to what had happened to them. But of course he couldn't use it, bummer!; Caiden chuckled at this thought and held it as his thought if he felt down about leaving his mother behind. Soon the kid started talking to him. Caiden turned his head to look at him, listening closely to what he said. 'Oh really? Thats interesting,' Caiden responded to the the boy. 'Must be a huge school then,' he gleamed at the boy. 'Nice to meet you Talon, I am Caiden, Caiden Aritza,' he held out his hand in front of him to shake his newfound friend. Then he rose and eyebrows at the guy as he mention he was from America. 'I am from London, I love America' said Caiden. He grew quite fond of America, he heard good stuff about America. He heard about hits hot, humid weather he would love to go there. He loved the warmth, London was far too cold for his liking.

Talon shook the boy's hand and said "Nice to meet you." He seemed like a nice fellow, someone dependable enough to trust. Talon raised his brow though once Caiden had said he loved America. About a third of the world hated America, possibly more, so he was a little surprised to hear that. But it was nice though to have someone around that didn't hate him just because of his nationality though, so that was a plus. "London huh?" Talon asked "This place seems really nice, maybe just a bit too large for me. I come from a rather small place, compared to here." Growing up for Talon was pretty quiet, but he believed that just made him a little naive. "Do you want to get some candy for when the cart comes around?" Talon asked. He had seen a cart go by him as he was walking towards the cabin, and they seemed to have some rather interesting choices on display.

Already making friends are ya?

Caiden shook the boy's hand and smiled, softly. 'A pleasure,' he nodded in agreement. The lad seems like a nice fellow, something he found most student lacked quite poorly. Caiden was already starting to like him and he was American not often you find American hanging around in London, this was an interesting turn of event. Caiden couldn't help but noticed the boy reaction when he said he loved America. He could tell that this was something the lad did not hear of very often but before he had time to speak he was interrupted when Talon started to speak. 'Yeah, London's alright. A bit too cold to my liking. Too cold everything,' chuckled Caiden. 'What part of America were you born in?' he asked the guy, his tones obviously was quite interested. He wanted to go to America one day, he was actually planning to have his scholarship in America until he received the letter to Hogwart it was a offer you cannot deny. 'Oh yeah,' he nodded and Talon asked if he wanted some candy. 'Heard those Jelly beans bags are to die for,' he spoke. This would give him an excuse to spend his chunk load of money he had in his pocket

[What?]

Talon leaned forward a little, shifting his weight towards his front to make himself more comfortable. Sitting up straight usually ruined his back after a while, so he usually did this to prevent it. "I was born up in the midwest," he said, feelings of homesickness flowing back into him "A rather average city, on the verge of being quiet if it didn't have so much crime." Illinois was what he considered to be another backwater place if you weren't up in Chicago. Everywhere else but that was just filled with rednecks and crime, but he was glad his parents had managed to move up near Chicago, despite all the sounds of crime usually in the distance. "Jelly bean bags?" he asked "This is the first I've ever really been exposed to a magical environment, so I have no idea as to what to expect." He wrung his hands a little, still uncomfortable about being in a room with a complete stranger. Sure, Caiden seemed nice, but Talon had always been a little on the shy side. Not to mention Talon didn't know anyone from the wizarding world besides his grandfather and his mother. "You have any family back home?" he asked, hoping he wasn't getting to personal now. He just wanted to keep the conversation flowing.

OCC:- That was part of the post sorry

Caiden couldn't do anything but sit and listen to Talon speak about his country, of course Caiden was quite interested. 'Oh, cool,' he said, nodding at the boy and chuckled. 'Intresting,' he spoke. Caiden didn't know much about American, all he knew is that he's been planning to visit the land of freedom. Caiden could tell in the tone of the boy's voice he was feeling homesick. 'I've always wanted to go to America, was thinking of having a scholarship there until I received the letter but Hogwart,' he told him and chuckled, hoping that would brighten up the mood but he was probably sure he did a bad job of it . He couldn't blame Talon for being homesick, he was so far from home. Caiden couldn't help but feel the same as he did. Guess that was something they had in common. More then anything it just made him feel better that someone was just as nervous as he is. 'Yeah, apparently its really good,' said Caiden. 'I heard they have earwax one,' he laughed, cringing his eyes a bit at the thought of eating earwax jellybean. Soon the cart lady came and knocked on the door. 'Do any of you boys wants anything from the trollies?' she asked. 'Oh yes,' said Caiden grabbing a handful of coin from his pocket and buying quite a few lollies from the cart. One chocolate frog, one bag of jelly beans, exploding bon bon, pepper imp and a liquorice wand. Soon he was finish paying off the lady with his money he turned his head back to Talon, tearing a small piece of the liquorice and asked. 'Did you want anything?' he asked as he chewed on his liquorice wand. 'I have a mother, grandfather and grandmother back home,' he replied, taking another big bite off his liquorice. 'Never knew my father,' he said, his mouth quite full he could not quite making it through. 'What about you?' he asked, gulping down the liquorice and sigh of satisfaction. The lollies sure beats the muesli bar he was eating earlier. The thing tasted like shit.

Talon looked towards the cart lady and began to examine the items on the cart. Everything there seemed unfamiliar to him, everything apparently given some sort of magical touch. Talon couldn't help but feel a little confused as to what he should try first, although some of the items looked almost inedible. After a moments thought, Talon picked out a package that had a chocolate frog in it, a box of jelly beans, a box of Sour Apple Bites, and a couple of chocolate bars, covered in wrappings that seemed very elegant. After thanking the cart lady and giving her the funds, Talon looked at his arsenal of candy to last him a couple of hours. "My family has always been pretty close," he told Caiden, unwrapping one of the chocolate bars "we've always been in a sort of lower class area up until recently, so being in those kind of areas caused us to stay close." He took a bite from the chocolate bar, immediately setting it down next to him afterwords. It was filled with marshmallow, something Talon never liked inside a chocolate bar. His next target was the chocolate frog, which he opened up. As soon as he did however, the frog immediately leaped out of it's package, stunning Talon for a second. "The hell?" he said, astounded by the sight. He immediately grabbed it after it tried to escape out the window and just held it in his hand. "Is it...is it alive or something?" he asked, feeling uneasy that it was trying to worm its way out of his hand.
