What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Even though it was still early in the morning, the sun was already shining bright on the CoMC paddock. Jake opened the fence a bit as he entered the paddock quickly. He stood in the middle of it for a while, thinking of how the lesson would go. If it way anything like the last lesson, he was going to have a somewhat rough time with teaching today.

He sighed and shook his head. No matter, it way his job to teach the students and that was what he was going to do, even with some disruptive students in the class. He had a small chalk board to the side of the paddock and he walked toward it. Jake had been having trouble controlling his magic lately and he didn't know what would happen if he tried to use magic to write something on the small board. He didn want to take any chances so he lifted the chalk and wrote on the board by hand. He coughed softly as he wrote.

Care of Magical Creatures Class Empty Re: Care of Magical Creatures Class

Cecilia had hurried straight from her previous class hoping to be the first one to Care of Magical Creatures. There was no way she would miss this class no matter how sick she really was. “Good morning Professor Collins!” She greeted him enthusiastically, “How are you?” And she was pleased to see he was the only one there. Looking over at the board she read the one word written “Oh we are learning about Phoenix’s today? That sounds so wonderful. Will we be seeing one too?” she couched and scratched her arm frowning for a second as she thought about how much it sucked to be sick.

Serena shuffled sullenly toward Care of Magical Creatures class. Normally she would be running down the sloping hills to her favorite class but today she felt worse she had ever felt. She itched and ached with pain and coughed way too much. When she got there she waved at the professor and sat down on the grass crossing her legs and laid her head in her lap. As she sat there she closed her eyes and had a coughing fit. “This sucks,” she mumbled into her legs groaning and scratching her side as she grumbled and complained. “Professor are you sick too?” she mumbled without looking up at him.

Care of Magical Creatures Class Empty Re: Care of Magical Creatures Class

Danielle walked at a leisurely pace as she headed to the CoMC paddock. Her bag was slung over her shoulder and was close to falling off. She coughed softly as she walked, feeling a bit light headed. She hadn't been feeling all that well for a while, as way everyone else, but she needed to keep up going to classes. She had to pick up the slack for her lazy brother, who only thought about drooling over some Gryffindork. She hated having to do everything because her brother was lazy and an idiot.

The fifteen year old entered the paddock and rolled her eyes when she saw Cecilia Krum and the way she acted with the Professor. She was an annoying girl, it was obvious. Dani didn't like her at all, not that she actually liked anyone at that school. Well all except her best friend Juliet, she was the only person in the entire school whom Dani could trust. She shook her head and sighed. "Morning Professor." she said with a fake smile. The girl completely ignored Cecilia and walked to her younger housemate, Serena. "Morning Serena." she said.

Care of Magical Creatures Class Empty Re: Care of Magical Creatures Class

Sam trotted his way down to the CoMC paddock, coughing a few times along the way, but attempting to get it out of his system in time for the class - he didn't want to appear sick in front of everyone. As he approached the class he heard girls shouting and carrying on. So it was going to be unicorns again... great.

As it turned out, however, it was only Cecilia carrying on like a little girl - and it wasn't unicorns, what good news this was for them all! Instead, it was Phoenixes, which to him was a very, very interesting topic.

"Good morning," he called out to the rest of the class

Care of Magical Creatures Class Empty Re: Care of Magical Creatures Class

Post by Wilhelmina Abercrombie Mon Apr 16, 2012 2:40 am

Wally was only apart of this class because it reminded her of home, discovering new types of creatures that she always liked far better than the humans she had to share the class with. None of them really knew anything about creatures, but the thirteen year old Ravenclaw girl had what seemed to be impeccable sense with the different types of critter- perhaps it was because Wally was seemingly more driven by animal instinct than human propriety.

Whatever the reason, she walked up to the class with as good an attitude as she could muster when surrounded by people. She glanced at the chalkboard with interest and sat atop one of the wooden slates of the paddock, reaching into her pocket to tap the head of her iguana Darwin. Who needed human friends?

Jayden walked to the CoMC paddock slowly. He sneezed a couple of times along the way and wondered when and if he would ever feel better. This was lasting way too long and he didn't like it at all. He felt miserable though the smile that was always on his face could fool anyone. Jayden was always happy on the outside even if he was feeling horrible on the inside.

His kitten, Athena, yawned softly from his shoulder. He smiled and picked up his pace a little more as he approached the paddock. He heard someone talking loud and excitedly, and his smile dropped a bit, from surprise. And he thought he loved this class. He grinned and ran into the paddock. "Morning everyone!" he greeted cheerfully, as he looked at everyone. Jayden glanced up at the chalkboard and his eyes brightened. "Phoenixes? Nice." he nodded.

Damitrius walked happily to the CoMC paddock. Her bag was slung over her shoulder and it was close to falling off her shoulder. She adjusted it and made sure it wouldn't fall off. She really wasn't feeling good at all, but that wasn't going to stop her from attending her classes. Especially CoMC, it was her second favorite class besides Charms. Damitrius loved taking care of creatures, no matter what they were.

With a smile on her face, Damitrius walked into the paddock and immedately looked at the board. So they were learning about Phoenixes today? That was cool, she loved those creatures. They fascinated her so much. "Morning everyone." she says brightly, despite the fact she felt horrible.

Soon the students began to come into the paddock, and he greeted each of them with a smile. "Good morning everyone." he told the students that had come in. "Before we begin with class, 10 points to each of you for being here on time." he smiled at them. He turned to Cecilia as she asked if they would be seeing a phoenix. "We might. But first we have to get through the lesson." he said.

"Well, I'm sure everyone has seen on the board that we are learning about a creature called a Phoenix." he began. Jake cleared his throat before he continued. "I'm sure some if not all of you have at the very least heard about this creature. They are a rare type of creature." he said. "Can anyone tell me anything about the Phoenix?" he asked them all.

Care of Magical Creatures Class Empty Re: Care of Magical Creatures Class

Post by Orla Hughes Mon Apr 16, 2012 8:32 pm

Care of Magical Creatures was a dirty, dirty subject and not because the teacher was a good for nothing Half-Blood, either. The muck and the grime was something for Mudbloods and Blood-Traitors alike to frolic in; it was not the place of a Pureblood woman regardless of her career aspirations. However, due to the absence of the Dark Arts this...subject was one of Cerelia’s electives and she was determined not to have a black mark on her record in terms of attendance. She’d had the highest attendance at Durmstrang but that was because she enjoyed what was being taught. She feared - no, she knew - that her attendance would be something of a necessity, especially this...class.

Cerelia made it just in time for the class, not that it made any difference and found herself stood next to the blonde Slytherin that was in the same year as her. Upon the Professor asking a question, Cerelia brought her arm into the air. “The Phoenix has a four-x Ministry Classification. Not because they are aggressive creatures but because very few wizards have ever succeeded in domesticating them - Albus Dumbledore being one and a mascot, I believe, for the Moutohora Macaws.”
