Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Flight, what an amazing feeling. It was so different to the thrill he got when he found out a new interesting fact. When he had his feet on the ground, he always felt awkward, which was understandable, he was pretty young to be 6'1" and he had gotten so used to people making fun of his height, that he started to hunch his shoulders in an attempt to make himself look a little bit shorter then he was. Head bent, shoulders hunched, hands in pockets, he was still tall, and lanky, and awkward looking, but he felt a little bit better about it. Up in the air however, it was something completely different. He threw back his shoulders, lifted his head, leaned into the wind, which flew through his untidy brown hair.

It was a different feeling, being up in the air. He felt free, unrestrained, the thought of anyone making fun of him flew from his mind as he zoomed around the Quidditch Pitch a few times. He pulled his broom to a halt and looked around the Quidditch Pitch. It was relatively chilly today, nothing like the sweltering hot days the summer had brought, the sun was out, but it was still early and it wasn't heating up the world like it would have done later in the day. He chose this early for a reason, it was Saturday, and it was the day that most people didn't wake up early, they slept in because they could, and being so early in the school year, quite a few people COULD sleep in, they didn't have homework that took all day to finish, they could sleep in, get up later for Breakfast, and go back to their dorms to chill for a bit, but Peter took the day to go outside, and blow off some steam without surveillance.

Pulling out his wand, Peter pointed towards the Quidditch changing stations, and a Quaffle flew out from the door, and floated in front of him. "Lets do this." He said softly, and flew towards the goal posts, his wand now tucked easily into his pocket, the Quaffle flying after him, until he stopped, and it stopped not to far away. "Go." He said and touched his wand with his hand, the Quaffle flew at him, and he jumped to protect his goal post, hitting the ball with the end of his broom, before it came flying back and he easily maneuvered his broom to protect the goal again. He did miss a few times, but it was these times that he grew more aggressive towards the Quaffle, and would protect the goal for a long time until he let one slip again, and got angry at it again. He was working up a small layer of sweat, and he had completely forgot to check for anyone who could see him, his mind completely focused on his task, which he tended to do, and would lose himself in a book or his homework and not emerge for hours. It wasn't hours he was engrossed, but it wasn't long until the castle was alive with people, and it was nearly lunch time.

Octavia had never been as enthusiastic about quidditch as her fellow classmates but she still found it enjoyable to watch. Sometimes she found herself wandering down to the pitch when she had nothing else to do and watching whoever was down there practice. Watching the lads fly around was her idea of a good time. The honest fact was that being good at quidditch made even the ugliest boys look much better. Today Tavia was just in one of those odd distracted moods that could only be cured by watching attractive young men work hard. And so, Tavia set on down to the quidditch pitch. The grass was wet under her feet and there wasn't anyone else around. The air was silent pardon the faint noise coming from the castle and for the first time since arriving back at school the redhead felt very much alone. It was funny that solitude should claim her at a time where what she really needed was company. Preferably company that had big muscles.

Arriving at the pitch Tavia immediately saw a flash of blurred color that meant someone practicing. Instantly a feeling of excitement washed over her and her pace quickened. Tavia wondered who could possibly be out practicing now. It was a bit chilly to be comfortable and it was a Saturday. They either had to be die hard quidditch players or people who wanted to remain unbothered. If it was the latter Tavia didn't intend to honor their wishes.

Tavia stepped into the oval arena of the pitch, not really caring that she was in the middle of their playing grounds. Actually, she realized looking up, not 'they' but rather 'him'. The one boy was up on his broom on the between the goalposts. Tavia watched him save a quaffle that had been magically hurtling towards him. He was good. Really good. Tavia peered at him, trying to make out his face but it was no one she recognized. His windblown brown hair and cute smirk as he caught the ball were definitely something she would have noticed anywhere. His clear attractiveness made her slightly self conscious about her own appearance. Tavias long red hair was slightly frazzled by the breeze. She wore dark blue skinny jeans, a brown cardigan, and a leafy green scarf was tied loosely around her neck. Her hands were relatively bare - she wore only her mood ring and her leaves and vine ring that twisted around and around her finger.

Taking another few steps forward Tavia called out to the handsome boy. "Need someone to throw the quaffle for you? I say doing it yourself is cheating!" She smiled widely at him, hoping he would give his name. Tavia was most interested in inquiring about him as soon as she arrived back up at the castle. But that was for later. You didn't run into handsome boys all alone and not make the most of the opportunity. Boys were often just as bad as girls about traveling in packs.

Unseen, or so I think.. Empty Re: Unseen, or so I think..

It was warming up pretty quickly, and after a time, Peter shed his cloak, letting it fall to the ground on it's own, his eyes not even following it as he saved another Quaffle from going through the hoop behind him. He knew he should be heading inside soon, the possibility of being seen grew larger with every minute he stayed out here, but he seriously doubted anyone would be out here this early. How mistaken he was, it wasn't long after his cloak had hit the ground almost directly below him when a voice rang out from below. The sound startled him so much he let the Quaffle soar straight past him into the goal, and he turned his gaze down to the ground, where a girl with crazy red hair was looking up at him. Oh no.. oh no oh no... this was bad, bad bad bad! People weren't supposed to see... they shouldn't know. His mind went nuts and he missed a few more Quaffles before he flicked his wand at it and quickly caught it before it hit the ground.

He slowly let himself descend to the ground, running his hand through his hair, his eyes locked on the figure. His white shirt was suddenly very thin, and the moment he touched ground and grabbed his broom with his right hand, his other hand went into his pocket, and his back hunched slightly as he moved to gather up his cloak, his Ravenclaw tie all askew from the wind, and his hair tousled. "I was.." He coughed lightly, a small blush creeping onto his cheeks. "I was just heading inside actually." He said in a slightly rough tone, "Lunch time.. I think..." he said glancing at his watch, and tugging on his dog tags, which were flung over his shoulder. He pulled them around back to the front, and stared at the girl. She was very attractive, it would take an idiot not to notice that, it was also obvious that she knew she was attractive, and her eyes told a story her mouth didn't.

He hated this, the fact that someone saw him doing something that usually only the Jocks of the school did. It automatically made them think he was confident, alert, not shy of his body at all, but in fact, he kept his shoulders hunched, his eyes on the girl carefully moving his cloak on his arm and pulling it over his shirt, fixing his tie as he did so, anything but look at the girl that stood in front of him. Gryffindor, pretty, he had seen her around before, and he recognized her face, but had never spoken to her, or learned her name. "Erm.. nice to meet you." He said simply, and attempted to get around the girl without much more talk.

The handsome boy looked quite befuddled indeed. Her mere presence had turned him from a quidditch god into.. Not a quidditch god. But the way that he was missing the quaffles because he was so flustered Tavia actually found cute. Erm.. nice to meet you. he said, clearly uninterested in having a conversation. Tavia paused for a moment. She knew that voice. Yes, she knew it all right. And then the face clicked and the handsome boys identity was intact. It was that tall, geeky, Ravenclaw boy. Paul or Peter or something. But Tavia had never really realized he was good looking before, as he was always kind of hunched over and fading into the background. "The pleasures mine. I'm Tavia. Yourself?"

Tavia often found it amusing that Hogwarts students chose to introduce themselves, when most people knew everyones name already. In some ways it was also a curse as people reputation often proceeded them. Sometimes Tavia worried that was the case with her. She had gotten a bit too outspoken from time to time and gotten into some trouble with students and teachers alike but that didn't make her a bad person. Kids had a tendency to stretch the truth x1000. So when people said she had been in the hospital wing for a month after punching a 7th year Slythirin in her 4th year she had really just gotten a bloody nose. When people said she had had sex with half of Gryffindor house she had really only slept with a total of two guys in her life - both who she thought she loved. Reputation was more destructive than Tavia could ever be - even her worst day.

Peter found himself caught by the girl as she introduced herself, and asked for his name. He stuffed his hands into his pockets, and looked down at her, frowning. She appeared to look as though she recognized him, and that scared him. He made it a point to stand in the background and not be noticed, why? Because then people did this.. they looked at him as though he were something special, and he wasn't. The way she looked for example, it was obvious she expected something more then the lanky, awkward boy who had dropped to the ground, she expected an over confident, jock type Gryffindor, and that bugged him for reasons he couldn't explain.

He tried to decide if he could avoid giving her his name, and suddenly realized he couldn't. The Changing rooms were across the stadium, and it would be incredibly rude to just, brush her aside and not speak to her. "Erm.. Peter.." he said purposely leaving off his last name, the same she had done. It was obvious she wanted to speak to him, but it was also obvious that he wanted nothing more then to be as far away from her as possible. "I do.. need to head back to the school, I mean... I haven't eaten yet.. and I'm hungry.." He said softly, his voice going as soft as it could go, as though attempting to be so quiet that she would have no choice but to simply ignore him and let him blend in with the background again. Obviously he would have to sneak out after curfew to get in a bit of Quidditch time at this rate, otherwise he wouldn't get to play at all this year, and that would be sad indeed, seeing as he did enjoy the game greatly.

What a buttface Tavia thought, slightly bitterly. Not that she could blame him for not being the type to strike up a conversation with a total stranger. Most people just weren't as outgoing as she was - and those that were tended to lean towards either annoying or stalkerish. For the mere reason of not joining the ranks of the latter Tavia figured that it would probably be a good idea to just let him go. Maybe he really was hungry! It wouldn't be very nice of her to prevent a man from getting his breakfast. Tavia of all people knew just how horrible life could be without having lots and lots of good Hogwarts food in her belly. That one day that she missed the Halloween Feast... It took weeks of eating too much dessert to make herself feel better after that one.

"Okay. Nice to meet you Peter" Tavia said with a slightly sad smile on her lips. This boy had suddenly become an object of interest with her newly discovering his quidditch skills. She would definitely start noticing him in the hallways. Maybe she would even say hi. But something about his clear pushing her away gave her the faintest idea that he wouldn't exactly be pleased if she did. She had a feeling that he only wanted to blend into the background. And someone like Tavia attempting to make his acquaintance wasn't making his day. And even though Tavia could be thought of to some as annoying by some, she was determined to not live up to her oddity reputation in front of the handsome Ravenclaw. "I should probably get going too. See you around."

And as simply as that she turned and headed off back towards the castle.
