Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

I'm sure you all know the quidditch rules of Harry Potter. Well we've adapted them to make it work on our site, so please make sure you understand them all.

Players will RP through the whole match, Make your posts at least three lines, preferably more. One liners definitely don't work here.

Chasers
The Chasers are supposed to take the quaffle and try to get it in to the opponents goal post. Every post they do, they have to pass the quaffle to another Chaser. Another Chaser on the same team should then RP catching the quaffle, or the Chasers from the other team will take the quaffle. After three successful passes, Chasers are allowed to try scoring.

Keepers and Scoring
If a Chaser tries to score, the Keeper has a chance of blocking it if he/she posts within 24 hours. The Keeper can then pass it to a chaser. If the Keeper fails to block it, its 50 points (not 10) to the other team.

Beaters and Bludgers
Beaters have to roleplay about hitting the bludgers towards the Chasers or the Seeker. If the Chaser fails to reply within 12 hours, he/she loses the quaffle, though if the Beater hits the bludger at a Seeker, they automatically loose sight of the snitch. However, a Beater can post to defend a Chaser within the 12 hours, though not a Seeker.

Seekers and the Snitch
The snitch is controlled by the Coach. They will announce when they sees the snitch and both Seekers have to roleplay chasing the snitch. They have to post twice before they can catch the snitch, and cannot catch the snitch within twelve hours of it being seen by the Coach. Catching the snitch gives your team 150 points.

Substitutes
If a player is inactive at the start of the match, the substitutes can play for them. They cannot join the match after it has begun.

The Coach and the Commentator
The Coach will also call out any fouls or mistakes. The Commentator meanwhile will be commentating the match.

The Crowd
You can support your house or other houses in the crowd but cannot go in the field or do anything which interrupts the match. This will result in points from your house.
