A date/time system for PA?
Welcome to Potter’s Army

Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

A date/time system for PA? Empty A date/time system for PA?

Hello fellow PAgoers!

I had a dream, a dream that people could have children and graduate muster faster than usual.

Basically what I'm saying is that the current date system for PA seems rather slow. So yeah, the real time PA is a little slow.

What are your guys' thoughts on this? Is this fine? Would it be too confusing to do? I won't be too udderly upset if you guys don't like it. To be honest this is more for your own gain if any. So yeah...this is a poll and we shall see what happens.

I'm a bit confused. Do you mean speed up PA time, as in 2 school years per 1 RL year or something similar?

Something like that.
FYI, keep in mind that if levels of students drop, as more and more graduate, there will be limitations placed on graduate characters, and that when Hogwarts is empty, and grads aren't being accepted as loosely as they are now, everyone will suffer.

However, if we did do a 2 PA years per 1 RL sort of a system, and people did create enough student charries to fill in the voids, without making too much strain on themselves, then there'd be no big problem Smile

If it's too confusing then we can forget it. It also seems as though what Jess might said may lower member rates just a little if we limit Grads. If anyone REALLY wants it and if anyone means a majority of PA, then I suppose I'll figure something out. To be honest I'm reconsidering it due to time constraints and I was a little tired when I made the idea...so it's a jumbled and out of the blue idea....Yeah.

I think it should take 1 whole year for someone to actually move up another year. And if they don't like it,they could just make another character in hogwarts.

Well thanks for explaining so well Matt. Personally, I don't think this is necessary. Sure, it would be quite good for students to graduate faster but it will hardly be important for graduates. It will be confusing for the members. In the end I dont think we need it at all.

I don't think that would be really good, I mean sure it's kind of confusing as to what might be going on, but it'd be worse if we'd all try and get some specified date. I mean, for 1 topic it might take 2 weeks instead of 1 hour :S Idk, but I don't think it'd be good.
