Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Bird Feeder Empty Bird Feeder

Post by Stan Kumar-Greyback Mon Jan 31, 2011 10:32 pm

Chirping seemed to scatter. The day quickly vanishing into the night, quicker than normal. The dead of winter was always depressing; there were no birds, and what little there were weren't usually out. Today though, Stan got lucky. There were a murder of crows that were on the grounds, pecking for food. He'd brought along his own two birds, Rama and Jyoti. He'd also brought along his saxophone, he knew his pets loved music, and wanted to try it out on the other birds; they seemed indifferent to the music. All they really cared about was the food. Stan had bread, which he'd torn to pieces, as well as some seeds. Scattered seeds lay upon the ground waiting for the next bird to pick it up.

Suddenly, they started to leave, little by little. He wondered what was wrong, what was making the birds go so abruptly. Something was doing it, but he couldn't figure that out. He tried to feed the remaining birds before they too went.

Bird Feeder Empty Re: Bird Feeder

A figurative cloud of fury hung over Ariel's head as he stormed across the grounds. He'd found the camp. Other than that he'd had next to no luck in finding the girl that was now supposed to be his responsibility. He was failing spectacularly, making a mockery of hundreds of years of tradition. He was supposed to be the all-knowing heir; Fenrir's all-knowing heir. Now he was merely a victim of his father's own brutality. The man who was supposed to love him clearly didn't. Ariel had always known that but he'd hoped, over the last few years, they'd become closer. He was the eldest, the one Fenrir had turned. Surely he deserved some sort of relationship with his father.

Apparently he didn't. Instead he got punishment for killing a member of the pack. Rightly so but it wasn't meant to be a punishment that would punish someone else -- or was it?

Such questions were leaving Ariel with next to no sleep. He was wrapped up warm for the day, in a long shin-length trench coat that was keeping out the cold quite satisfactorily. As he walked up the embankment, he spotted a familiar face; one that was hard to forget. Too hard to forget. Ariel groaned quietly to himself and decided he may as well speak to the boy. He really didn't want to have to deal with his half-brother. Months were between them; just as there were months between him and Naomi.

For some unidentifiable reason, Stanley 'Kumar'-Greyback aggravated Ariel. He wasn't fond of his brother at all. Ariel doubted he'd ever be.

Approaching the Gyffindor, Ariel planted his hands in his pockets. He flicked his head to the side, sending bits of hair out of his eyes. He shivered slightly in the cold air and came to a stop on a patch of grass where some robins had been jumping on the ground before. "What are you doing out here in the cold?" He demanded angrily. "I know you're stupid but you're not that stupid -- or I thought you weren't."

Stan simply waved at his half brother, "Hello! I'm just feeding birds. That's all. I don't find it cold anyway, not with this turtleneck sweater and my vest". Stan was wearing a fleecy vest, bright pink, and a lime green turtleneck. The clashing colors was further reinforced with shocking yellow hair, and sparkling Pokemon stickers upon each cheek. His pants were a thick denim, bleached in places to make them look worn. Rama flew at Ariel, screeching caws filling the air surrounding him, and beak ready to peck. Jyoti hopped to Stan's side, and even seemed a bit scared off by Rama's actions.

"Rama! No!" The bird did not listen and in fact, picked up a small rock in a swoop, then aimed and dropped it in order to try to hit Ariel in the head. The raven was quite smart and knew a threat to his human friend. Stanley never considered himself the master of his birds, only as their friend.

Sometimes, Ariel really did wonder whether it was Fenrir's sperm that created the nutter before him. He really and truly hoped not. Ariel was the flagship; the success. Naomi was also a success. Stan was the failure, the throwaway son. Fenrir had a couple more. Stan could go and Ariel could muck up if he so wished. Fenrir had lots to full back on. If all else failed he could turn Naomi. She wouldn't screw up.

Ariel ducked out of the way of the bird and then the rock. He pointed at Stan and then the bird, anger flashing in his eyes. "I will eat that sodding bird if you don't get rid of it. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just passing." Ariel rolled his eyes and hissed at the bird. He looked at Stan and blinked. His eyes were offended by the sharp colours. "Don't you do anything normal you psycho?"

Bird Feeder Empty Re: Bird Feeder

"What do you mean, not do anything normally?" Stan asked as he nonverbally called back the raven Rama. "He won't hurt us, he's just...I don't know, but calm down". This seemed to put Rama in a temporary state of rest, the rest of the birds with the exception of Stan's pets started to vacate as soon as Ariel had shown his face. He attempted to play his saxophone to bring back the avians, but they didn't return. Not even for a second helping of food. His canary yellow hair waved in the wind; he didn't put enough gel in it after all, and now it was blowing all over the place. The cold wind seemed to blow hollow through the warm notes of the instrument, making it sound eerie in the middle of the nigh abandoned place. Not many people were willing to come out of the safety and warmth of the building to see the birds like he was.

"The cold doesn't bother me. Hell, I figure that I can spend a few months up in the arctic if I had to. Summertime, I don't feel too warm, either. Constant temperature is easy for me", he said after putting down his saxophone upon the bench. One bird returned when it had heard him play.
