The Words's Ice (Shelby Malfoy)

Jess sat at the desk with the twins in two high chairs both playing with two soft toys taking turns to hit each other with it . Jess sat doing her inventory writing down how many books had been sold and how many had not , she sighed it was bad for books several people who were her regulars had stopped why she didn't know .

"ok, you two, stop fighting, here " she handed them two bisects that she had made and the started together they chew them happily. Becoming quiet Jess stood up and began walking around to wake her partly numb legs. As she moved she checked the books glade not to be carrying the weight of the twins any more. Even if they did turn up unexpectedly at the ball. she could not help smile at remembering how they were born , or almost born in the hall bathroom.

Shelby walked into the black Raven book store. for those who didn't know her they would find it odd that she was here. she started to walk throw the rows of books her hand running along their spines with an odd smile on her face. she wasn't paying much attention to where she was walking and bumped into an older lady. "Sorry," she mumbled stepping around her. she had braided her hair back for the day and wore jeans and a t-shirt. the shirt had a design of a penguin holding a heart on it. "are there any books you would recommend?" she asked the lady she had just bumped into idly listening to the two children that where somewhere in the store.

Jess smiled as she walked not really paying much attention to where she was going till she was bumped "ow I am sorry " she said looking down at a blond girl who now stood in front of her and she smiled warmly at her "Hi welcome to the black Raven book store , my names Jess I own the store " she said it was then she saw the twins fighting again and shook her head "feel free to look around , except for over there thats restricted for teachers" she said pointing to a dark corner at the back of the store.

With a smile she moved to the high chairs and the two young babies in them one held his hands out to be lifted and she shook her head "not now you can have your hugs at nap time for not here's a piece of fruit" she smiled sitting back at her desk

Shelby picked up three books. one was educational and the other two where for pure entertainment. "those are two cute kids you have there," she said absent minded, "and I'm Shelby, if you care." she looked around a little more looking for a few more books. something that would tied her over the rest of winter. "any suggestions?" she asked Jess the store owner. something about the books was making Shelby be nice to this person she knew nothing about. when she would normally be rude like her father always had been.

Jess looked up smiling "why thank you, and pleased to meet you Shelby " she said looking at the books she now held "well, fiction is that side" she pointed off to the left " non fiction to your right and ow there's some muggle books I think on that table behind you , one i believe is the muggle interpretation of magic , its called the time machine by Jules Vern, I try and get anything any one needs if there's a specific book your looking for i can see if I can get it for you" she said standing to cross to the table.

"I'll stick to the wizarding book, thank you," Shelby said drifting over to the fiction section to look again. she puled a few off the self to look at them then put some of them back keeping one or two. "I think that's enough books to tied me over until spring." she said putting them on the counter to dig the money out of her pocket to pay for the books. "I hope i have enough to pay for them all," she said more to her self than anyone else.

Jess smiled as she saw all the books on the desk "well what i usually do for students is spot a tab till you can, I can understand its hard " she said and tied them together with string , "ok if you give me your room number I'll have them delivered right to your room , it saves you carrying them " she smiled placing the pen and paper in front of her "unless your going to take them with you now?" she said she felt something hit her back and looked down there on the floor sat a small yellow stuffed duck , bending down she picked it up both twin sat quiet , she knew it belonged to Jacob and placed it back on the high chair where he immediately started hitting it and she sighed.

I'll be takeing the books with me." Shelby Said, "i'l just be going home then takeing a port key back to hogwarts." she lay the gallons and other coins on the desk. "if its not enough i'll come back before heading off to hogwarts. Or i'll send my dad with the money." she pulled her hair over her sholder and smiled at the little child. 'what is wrong with me to day' she thought 'why am i being so nice to this lady?' she shook her head 'maybe im sick!'

Jess picked up the book and placed them into a stylish bag just as Catlin threw her toy it bounced landing on the counter between them Jess chuckled and picked it up "seems some one wanted attention " she said and picked it up to hand it back to her "she thinks its a game " she said turning back. Jess picked up a small book and opened it "don't worry about any costs like i said for students I have a credit just pay when your able" she said smiling again as she wrong her name in it.

"well here is this for now then." she said laying the money she had with here on the counter. there was about 5 sickles, 2 gallons, and a few nuts. "i had spent most of my allowance in hogsmeed with out thinking." she said laughing at her self. "i didn't acpect to be comeing to Diagon Alley." she explained. "then i got a change to come home for a day or to. Draco wasn't very happy to see me." Shelby said with an odd look on her face. never once did she call her father by his first name. "though i should be at hogwarts studying."
