Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. N.E.W.T. Class 2nd Empty N.E.W.T. Class 2nd

Post by Gabrielle Delacour Thu Nov 04, 2010 7:35 pm

Gabrielle was looking through the tones of paperwork as she heard the bell for the class right after lunch which she knew it was on her schedule. As it rang she started to send the papers flying to her cupboard and her office before she pointed her wand at the black board to write something,

SECOND N.E.W.T. CLASS

As it was on the board she sat down peacefully waiting for the students to arrive hoping they would come in larger number then the last time.

N.E.W.T. Class 2nd Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class 2nd

Post by Kiera Ashling McKinley Thu Nov 04, 2010 7:38 pm

Ash walked into the classroom, finding herself the first one there other than the professor. She hadn't went to lunch, not feeling too keen on eating herself. She was finding more and more food revolting to her as her pregnancy started to progress itself. She took her seat trying to find one towards the front of the class, "Afternoon professor." she said with a smile as she pulled out her quill and parchment.

N.E.W.T. Class 2nd Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class 2nd

Post by Brienne Ravenquist Sun Nov 07, 2010 4:03 am

Brienne arrived at Charms class. She repeatedly whispered to herself something. It was going to be a good class, that was what she was trying to whisper. It would counteract how sleepy and horribly cranky she was. She was cranky alright, but that didn't stop her from attending this class. Nope, she would always try and attend a class whether she wanted to or not. That was a promise she made to herself. A promise she wouldn't break. It would be awfully bad of her to do so. No, she'd be good and bite her tongue today. A good little werewolf. A good little werewolf who wouldn't cause trouble for the teachers. That's all she was for now, good little werewolf. However, this teacher right here, Delacour, she wasn't too bad. No, Brienne actually liked her. Oddly enough. She put her Charms stuff upon her desk and sat down.

N.E.W.T. Class 2nd Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class 2nd

Post by Amelia Lyons Sun Nov 07, 2010 10:40 pm

Amelia was not quick to arrive for the charms lesson, because she had been distracted by her own thoughts and had lost track of time. This was highly out of character for her, usually very prompt and nearly always glancing incessantly at her watch, but sometimes even the Ice Queen stepped outside of herself for a little while.

In any case, Amelia was still on time when she arrived at the Charms classroom and took her seat, pulling a hair tie out of her bag and sweeping her hair up and away from her face in a ponytail. She didn't know what to expect from today's lesson, but if it had any practical aspect to it - and charms nearly always did - she didn't need anything getting in her way.

Sally walked into the Charms classroom having decided to actually join this class, she sighed and saw a Gryffindor and two Ravenclaws. The Ravenclaws she didnt mind, The Gryffindor student is what bothered her. She still didnt have a fondest for Gryffindor, though she was going to behave herself and sighed sitting away from all three and sat her books for Charms down. "Good Afternoon Proffessor." she said nodding at the Proffessor Delacore

N.E.W.T. Class 2nd Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class 2nd

Post by Peter Howard Mon Nov 08, 2010 7:48 am

Lunch had been dismal, another spectacular failure by the House Elves. It was terribly depressing but Ariel paid it no mind, finding his own breakfast in the kitchens not long after. His fingers were still sticky from the croissant he’d picked up from the kitchen and although it wasn’t the nicest piece of pastry he’d ever had, it would tide him over until he had the opportunity to go to the kitchens later and cook himself something. The House Elves, in his opinion, would only do well as sports partners or the little hoops for croquet. Cooking was not their speciality.

Ariel swept into the charms classroom, his robes billowing out behind him. He paused in the middle of the classroom and opened his bag up, dropping the wipes and hand cream into the respective pouches before closing the bag. He pushed it behind him and lifted his head, inclining it slightly, making his chin look slightly pointed. His lips came together, forming a pout, and he raked his eyes across the classroom, hoping to find someone that would provide some decent conversation for the duration of the class. The teacher’s notes were brief, probably as brief as the lesson was going to be.

It was a poor bunch. That stupid Gryffindor that had got herself into a pickle, oh yes he knew about that, was there. That dog was unfortunately present, Ari made sure to sneer in her direction when his eyes fell on her. As hypocritical as it was, he felt he was above her. He wasn’t exactly parading around fluffy ears or a tail 24/7. Just her face irritated him. Oh, now who else... that Ravenclaw that never said anything, how quaint, and then someone from his house, Sarah, Sandra, Sonia or something. He didn’t exactly make a note of her name, nor did he care but he decided then and there that in a room full of women, none were to his liking.

The teacher was...alright to look at but nothing special and Ariel wasn’t going to delve as low as the hormonal Gryffindors that were besotted with their Divination Professor. Ariel’s hand went to his breast pocket and he produced a small golden mirror. He held it up to his face and inspected himself. He needed a burst of self-confidence and this was doing it. His reflection smirked back at him and, satisfied, Ariel put his mirror back into his breast pocket.

Ariel turned and made his way over to the desk where the Ice Queen was sitting. If he played his cards right she’d leave him alone. He contemplated going after the doggy and teasing her but he didn’t even want to be in that fluffy blob’s presence. The same room was bad enough, less than a metre away was sickening. “Tell me Professor,” Ariel’s sultry, silken voice darted across the room, soft to the ears but still as cutting and insulting as ever. His purr wasn’t a respectable tone. He was mocking her, “Do you wax your eyebrows or do you use something else? Pencil maybe? Or is there some glamorising charm I don’t know about?” He placed his bag on the floor and took his seat out, sinking down into it and crossing one leg over the other. “How ‘bout it ... Brienne,” he spat her name out as if it were some sort of swear word. “Are there any new beauty spells we should try? Ones that make ears and tails? I don’t fancy it myself...some do though,” He shrugged and a slow, lazy grin spread over his face. “Oh wait...that’d be you,”

N.E.W.T. Class 2nd Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class 2nd

Sally curisouly watched the boy from her house walk in all high and mighty, she smirked and crossed her arms against her chest. He seemed to have little patience and no respect for anyone. She heard of him before, he was one of those rich kids like herself who cares about no one else but themself. If only she could remember his name. She knew it started with an A or something like that. She sneered and rolled her eyes turning her attention to her books in front of her and wished there was something better to do, she wasnt going to give the boy in her house the satisfatcion of trying to insult her. Seeing how she knew some pretty high people in the wrong places. She narrowed her eyes as she continued to look at her books, sighing she oushed them to the side and scooted her chair back then placed her feet on top of the desk and got comfortable.

N.E.W.T. Class 2nd Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class 2nd

Post by Amelia Lyons Mon Nov 08, 2010 8:38 pm

As some time was passing now and the lesson had yet to begin, Amelia had taken out the book she had been reading earlier that morning. It was by a wizarding author she had not yet encountered in the rest of her literary endeavors, so she was still getting used to the writing style and the way he wove his story. It was probably for this reason that Amelia was able to even hear the world around her, as would not usually be possible if she were reading through immersion, as she typically did.

Because she was aware of what was going on in the rest of the classroom, Amelia could hear footsteps falling behind her. She did not look up, however, because it was likely just one of many classmates she had no real interest in talking to. Shortly, the footfalls stopped, and Amelia assumed that the person had taken his or her seat, but a minute or so later they resumed and were soon accompanied by a form just on the edge of her peripheral vision. At first, Amelia wasn't able to tell who had taken the seat next to hers, because she had found that looking up when someone arrived usually gave them the idea that she wanted to talk, which, let's face it, is almost never the case.

When he started to talk, however, Amelia became perfectly aware of who was sitting next to her and was immediately glad she hadn't looked up. She didn't know how anyone in the school could be unaware of Ariel Greyback, , the self-proclaimed king of the castle. Amelia had never paid him all that much mind, aside from using him as an observational experiment focused on the behavioral facets of extreme narcissism.

His tone was one of mockery, as Amelia had come to expect from the Slytherin boy with whom she had never spoken. It was curious how much one could learn about someone without ever having to speak to them, and it was especially useful for Amelia, who liked to be knowledgeable about the people around her but went to great lengths not to have to talk to them.

Ariel was demonstrating what seemed to be his innate ability to pick out the one thing that a person was most self-conscious about and then bring it up loudly and in the most cruel way possible. He was perceptive, Amelia could tell that, but he didn't exactly use his powers for good. If Amelia had been a different person, she might have spoken up and given Ariel a bit of his own barbed wit back at him, but thus far she had flown under his radar and had no intention of bringing herself to the forefront of his taunting. It wasn't that she couldn't handle the comments, because his opinion of her was basically moot in Amelia's mind, but rather that she did not want to have to deal with the attention that his words would demand from the other people in the room.

And so, to avoid becoming the object of his manipulation, Amelia kept her eyes on her book, though she wasn't really reading it anymore, and waited for class to begin so that at least she would have something else to distract her mind from over-analyzing Ariel's personality and actions.

N.E.W.T. Class 2nd Empty Re: N.E.W.T. Class 2nd

Post by Jaquellene Jack Dyllan Mon Nov 08, 2010 11:59 pm

Jack walked into her Charms class for her second lesson, feeling anything but thrilled to be having to suffer through another Charms class. She had found them to be incredibly bored, incredibly useless sort of class where she basically knew everything. The first class had been a breeze and sort of a joke in Jack's personal opinion.

She noticed a lot of activity surround a particular Slytherin boy who seemed to be causing a ruckus. Jack rolled her eyes and dove for her usual corner seat in the back, dropping her bag and promptly pushing back her chair and propping her feat up on the desk. She flicked a piece of dried mud off of her sneakers and skidded towards the boy causing trouble. She looked up towards the professor.

Post by Faylen Shadows Tue Nov 09, 2010 1:18 pm

Faylen walked into the Charms classroom, he hadnt really wanted to come to class today but someones owl kepted banging on his window waking him up each time he fell back asleep. He sighed walking in, he wasnt going to talk to anyone. He took a sit in the back in a corner making sure it was dimly lit and waited for class to start. Yawning, he put his arms around him and closed his eyes ready for a quick nap before class started. He noticed there were a few people in the room already, none of whom he would even think of making friends with nor speaking to them. He sighed as he watched one ridicule another, what maturity he thought to himself lazily. Sighing he was suddenly wish he just hexed the owl and skipped class so he could sleep in his own bed instead of this very uncomfortable chair.
