Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

IC Homework Empty IC Homework

Post by Caelani Bittel Sun Oct 10, 2010 6:14 am

I don't object to in character classes. I do object to in character homework.

I do eight hours of homework a day, on top of my regular classes (and that's only the stuff on my timetable - take into account extracurricular activities like exhibitions and industry talks and that time goes way over). I literally do not have time to be doing pretend homework as well, and I don't think my characters should suffer for it.

I'm sure I'm not the only person in this situation.

I agree with you, Caelani...I don't make any student character's much anymore 'cause they have to attend "pretend" classes and do "pretend" homework. I have real life homework, classes and study to do rather, much less "pretend" ones. RPG is suppose to be a getaway from the real world, right? So..why are you (PA) reminding us of homework and classes to be done.

Well, I don't mind the classes, so long as they're fun they're a good way to interact with other students. It's just the homework I dislike.

I agree Caelani with my RL schedule i cant even keep up with classes on Zack and post with him and Ne'Os not to mention take the time to reaserch the spell or write a essay or w/e we do. I wont be able to do the homework :/ I think asking us to pile on more homework with the current RL stuff is asking a bit much.

I agree with you as well. I've got not as much homework as you, but I got other things to do on top of it. Like chores, lost sleep to catch up on, etc. By the time I finish all this, I feel wiped. I've also got a lot on my plate this year, what with learning how to drive and such and thinking of a possible job. I also got to get ready to look at different universities and grab as many scholarships as I can in order to get me to the one of my choice. In character homework is just...how can I put this? Stupid.

I also agree, I love the classes (Not that I have time to post in half of them) Mostly because I am in Theatre.. and EVERY DAY I'm at the high school. Theatre, homework, getting my license, getting a job, applying for scholarships, and colleges, I have a lot on my plate and don't have time to do IC homework! I definitely kinda stopped posting in classes.. is there a forum we can post in that will let us knock down some of the classes we are in? Like.. drop classes? Cause I'd like to drop a few... I can keep a few, but not all of them... I thought I would have more time, and I do not.

One of my charries, Nikki Granger could should right now be a 6th year if the admins weren't so strict on the homework. She is now currently a 5th year. I remember being told I had to repeat 5th year because I didn't do my homework or my exams!! I was like, "wow, okay, dude, it's just a RPG..." So yeah..those are more of my thoughts on IC Homework.
