Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Abbey felt the cool wind brush her across her face and pull her fiery hair into her eyes. She closed them and breathed in and out slowly, taking in the nature that was all around her. Opening her eyes again, her green orbs took in the sparkling lake in front of her. Small waves lapped the shore. Picking up her discarded Converse, Abbey walked toward the very tip of the lake.

She set down her black tennis shoes beside her and plopped down in a new spot where the water would gently touch her toes before traveling back in. Abbey rolled her jeans up to her knees so they wouldn't get soaked and let the cool water wash over her feet.

Brienne changed into her bathing suit behind a tree, she'd go swimming in the lake, hopefully to do the doggy paddle (yes, I made that joke on purpose). She loved swimming, and floating on her back in the water. She also liked to fish here, well...kinda fishing. She'd release the fish back into the lake once she finished.

Slowly, she immersed herself into the cool waters of the lake, sliding in slowly. She floated on her back and looked up at the clear sky. There were several well formed cumulus clouds, each with a unique shape.

Abbey noticed a girl swimming on her back on the still water. She cupped her hands over her eyes to take a closer look. She felt a small bead of sweat form on her forehead as the sun beat down on her. She stood up and prodded the water with her big toe. It felt cool, refreshing, like a glass of lemonade on a scorching summer day. Unsure what else to do, she simply dove into the water, jeans and all.

The water clung to her jeans, making her feel almost as if she was drowning. It sucked her down, but luckily Abbey was a better swimmer than that. Using all the strength she had in her arms, she kept herself afloat, not letting the water win the battle. Her t-shirt puffed up under her as water filled it, and her legs almost felt too heavy to carry. But after about five minutes, Abbey was used to the feeling and could keep herself from being carried to the bottom of the lake. She brushed her hair out of her eyes and waded around, enjoying herself.

The skin-tight bathing suit clung to Brienne's skin, which was cold and somewhat clammy from the cold waters below. She closed her eyes, feeling herself becoming sleepier and sleepier. She felt a heaviness pull down her spine, her tail fur was wet and dense now. However, due to the fact that the rest of her could float, she didn't worry too much. One little body part sinking into the depths would not doom the rest of her. Her ears folded over themselves to afford protection from getting water in her ears. She sighed softly.

Abbey enjoyed the peace and trenquilty of the lake and forest surrounding it, but she was also lonely. She sighed and felt water fill up her ears as she let herself sink to the bottom of the lake. She came back up abruptly, her ears popping. Abbey shook her head, letting the water clear out of them. Then, she noticed the mysterious girl she had seen earlier. Abbey was pretty sure she had never spoken to the girl before, and she definitely wasn't in her own house; Abbey knew everyone in Hufflepuff.

Brienne looked over at the girl that just entered the water. She looked odd, and definitely wasn't a Ravenclaw like herself else she would've seen the girl in the Common Room before. This girl was probably in another house, at least she hoped so as it would be detrimental to know that he observation skills were no longer up to par.

Brienne's wolfish ears were now drenched, and emitted a smell when they were out of the water. Just like she imagined her tail would, however the tail's stench would be tenfold that of her ears.

Abbey decided to go over and talk to the girl. It wouldn't hurt to meet some new people. She swam over, kicking her legs out behind her. When she finally approached her, Abbey tried to come off as friendly as possible; she didn't want the other girl to think she was a wierdo or something.

"Hey, I noticed you swimming. My name's Abbey Dawn." she said, putting a polite tone in her voice.

Brienne was startled to the point where she flailed in the water a bit. She finally got to rights, using her arms to keep her up in the water.

"My name's Brienne, Brienne Ravenquist. I noticed you as well, but didn't want to distract you or nothin'", Brienne sounded modest but friendly all the same. her wolfish ears pricked upwards and she wanted to pant and do the 'let's play' gesture. However, she was swimming, and couldn't do a gesture like that whilst in the water.

Abbey gave a friendly smile to the girl. "I don't think I've seen you before around Hogwarts." Abbey said, trying to start friendly conversation. "What year are you in?" Now that she got a closer look at Brienne, Abbey noticed she looked to be at least a couple of years older than herself; besides that, she knew she had never seen her before in any of her classes, something that would've been sure to happen if they were in the same year.

Brienne smiled, "I'm a Seventh Year. What year are you?" Slowly, she sunk into the water, then came back up again. She fished something out of the Great Lake. It was an old broom. The paint that was once on it, an emerald green, had since worn off. Other than that, though, it was in good condition despite being submerged for a long period of time. She dragged the broom ashore to take a better look. A waterproof-spelled note was attached to it.

You lying a-hole scumbag,
Here's your broom, I left it in the lake for you to find when you go skinny dipping with your little girlfriend! You don't deserve it back, but here you go anyway! You are a horrible person sub-human turd.
-Your Ex Girlfriend

Brienne shuddered at the near-profane note. Who was so horrible that they deserved a note stapled to their broom which was submerged under the water. She saw gilded lettering on the side of the broom opposite to where the logo was. D. Ravenquist, there was only one other person here with the last name "Ravenquist". That would be her cousin, Dominic.
