Mistaken Identities Empty Mistaken Identities

Post by Khaat Lupin Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:14 am

OOC: Thread takes place Pre-Abbey-Kidnapping

Khaat was, as usual, working all night again. She was tired. Her father was...well, who bloody well knew where he was? The point was he was gone again. She didn't want to know. She had spent several nights without going home. Brian had brought Abbey by a couple of times a day so Khaat didn't feel so severed from everything she loved. There were days that, as much as she loved working, she wanted to merely be a stay at home mom with her daughter.

Brian had also been bringing her some of her Sparks favorites, even though St. Mungos now had a 5 Star chef. It wasn't the same as Lizzie's cooking at Sparks. And nobody made cheesecake or French Roast like Lizzie.

She had gone at least 3 nights without sleep, and she was really dragging. She pulled herself out of her desk chair, yawned, and forced herself to start back down the hallway to the Healer's Lounge for yet another cup of French Roast.

It was late and Sophia was still up at St. Mungo's helping Khaat take care of some patients for she refused to let Khaat work alone. Yawning Sophia made her way to Khaat's office but found her nowhere in her office so she decided to go to the Healer's Lounge to find her and maybe have a cup of french vanilla cappuccino to keep her awake. Walking down to the Healer's Lounge she found Khaat getting her another cup of her French Roast. "Sorry to bug you Khaat, but we have a man upstairs in ICU having what looks like a stroke I tried everything I could to stop it but nothing what shall I do?"Sophia asked her softly and then yawned. As he walked over towards the french vanilla cappuccino machince she gotten herself a cup of it and let it cool off before drinking it.

It been a long day for both her and Khaat but she knew it was going to get longer for her and Khaat have to work all night. "This is going to be a long night I can tell."said Sophia sitting on a couch rubbing her eyes tiredly. Sophia looked at the chart once again of the man having a stroke and sighed for she saw nothing that could cause him to have one. Taking a sip of her french vanilla cappuccino she kept looking at the chart and bit her lower lip trying to figure it out. Sophia knew Khaat would know what to do better then her for she been a healer longer then her.

"Hm," Khaat said, "That could be coming from any number of reasons. Let me see the chart, please." She took the chart and sat down, opened it, and began to read. "I think you're right. It is definitely going to be a very long night. I appreciate your staying. Its night like these when they get long that I really miss Abbey. " She stifled a yawn and rubbed her eyes. They burned from too much work and too little sleep. She returned her attentions to the chart at hand.

The next thing she knew, she heard the crack of a wand and felt a pain in her arm. She was completely surprised. She glanced at her arm to see it was just a graze. A burn, nothing more. She looked to see a figured completely concealed by black hooded robes, drawing a wand on her, and Khaat did not have her wand in her hand.

"What do you want?" Khaat's eyes narrowed in anger. The figure did not reply but aimed to fire again. Khaat rolled to the floor as the wand fired, creating a burning hole in the back of the chair she had just been in. "Alright, have it your way," she said, drawing her wand, and deciding she would have to fire back. She hoped Soph was wise enough to apparate out and get out of the way. Clearly the figure wanted Khaat, and Khaat did not want to see Soph get hurt.

Sophia looked up from the chart her and Khaat was reading and seen a woman dressed in all black attacking Khaat. Sophia jumped into the air and landed on her feet as the lady in black cloak put a burn hole in the chair Khaat was sitting in. "Leave her alone, and what do you want?"Sophia asked the figure angrily as she gotten out her wand as well and pointed it at the figure. "Ah... so you want Khaat huh? well your not going to get her if I can help it Impedimenta!" shouted Sophia angrily. Sophia was bound to protect Khaat for she was like a older sister to her.

"If you want somebody take me instead, but leave her out of this."said Sophia angrily as she looked at the figure in the black cloak angrily. Sophia knew she could get possibly really hurt in this duel or worse but it was a risk she had to take. Sophia hoped and prayed they would take her instead of Khaat for Khaat was more important then she was. Sophia swallowed hard knowing she was asking for trouble but she was going to protect Khaat no matter what. Facing her doom Sophia looked angrily at the figure with her red eyes watching it every move that it was doing.

'Oh, no!' Khaat thought. Soph was typically being Soph. It was so like her to not walk away from a fight. What was it about Lestranges and Lupins that they just did not have any ability to do that, anyway? Oh, for pity's sake. If anything happened to Sophia, Matt was going to kill Khaat. That was abundantly clear. Maybe Robert and Brian too for leaving her alone at St. Mungos. Well, maybe the Ministry would finally invest in some security for the place now.

The cloaked figure fired a warning shot in Sophia's direction, not intending to strike her, but certainly intending to frighten the living daylights out of her, blowing a hold through the sofa that was next to Soph and sending the blast right on through the huge pane glass window. It shattered into a million tiny pieces. Oh, nice. Now, Khaat had to be sure the either she or Soph didn't go flying out the window while they were up on the 5th floor.

"What kind of spineless chicken are you!" Khaat demanded in an angry tone, trying to draw the fire off of Soph. Khaat fired. "Bombarda!" She fired at the ceiling above her opponent. She watched the figure be clouded in dust and rubble for a moment, and seemed to walk right through it. Damn! A bloody shield! The figure turned and looked directly at Khaat. She fired squarely at her. It struck Khaat like a ton of bricks and sent her flying backwards into the stone fireplace. She fell, instantly unconscious.

The figure turned at fired a wandless spell at Sophia. Ropes sprang out of thin air and wound themselves tightly around Sophia in what seemed like a fraction of a second.

Ooc: Oh no, your fine! Wink

Sophia struggled to get away as the ropes wound tightly around her she glared angrily at the figure in the black cloak. "Let me go you evil scum bag!"said Sophia struggling to get away but the ropes only hurted her more making it hard for her to breath. "Your not going to away with this, mark my words!"said Sophia angrily as she spat at the figure in the black cloak. Sophia tried to figure out how to get out of the ropes but they were to tight on her, even with her vampire strength she couldn't get away. "What the hell kind of charm or spell did you put on these ropes?"Sophia asked the figure angrily.

"So do what you have to do to me, but please I beg you leave Khaat out of this!"said Sophia in a angrily but begging voice. Sophia didn't want anything to happen to Khaat for she was way more important to the wizarding world then Sophia was. Sophia knew she was scarificing herself by putting herself in place of Khaat but she really didn't care as long as she saved Khaat. "There I go again, always looking for trouble never can walk away from a fight can I?'Sophia told herself cursing to herself inside her head. As the pain of the ropes became unbearable she looked angrily at the hooded black ccloak figure. "When my father and everyone else know what you did to me and Khaat your going to get it!"said Sophia angrily before she passed out.

Hearing the commotion from outside the Healer’s Lounge, Phaedra hesitantly opened the door. She figured she might as well investigate so, brandishing her wand, she stepped inside. Phaedra left the door open just in case she and some others needed to make a quick escape and she looked around the room. She spotted Khaat by the hearth and a short breath of air escaped her throat. Phaedra rushed over to the fallen Director and knelt down so she could get a better look at the woman. “Khaat? Khaat? Are you alright? Can you hear me?”A quick assessment told Phaedra that the director was unconscious and she sighed in frustration. Everyone was gone. Now what was she supposed to do?

Thomas Gelding had not been stupid enough to send his assassin onto Robert Lupin's home turf without a backup. The woman was supposed to simply attack, not kill. The real work would come later. He had sent what he called a Quality Assurance Agent to make sure the job did not get bungled.

But it had. The cleanup man had watched the cloaked assassin mess the job up with really crappy timing and end up having to take a hostage. Personally, the cleanup man did not understand why the assassin had tied the young healer up with ropes and made off with her. Why not just kill her and be done with the whole messy business? It's not like they had Robert's daughter to contend with . She had been slammed into the fireplace and knocked cold when her head slammed against stone.

And now there was another freaking problem. A third healer. This one apparently had stinky timing too. Caffeine at the start of her shift. Couldn't she get her coffee fix some other time than right now? Bloody hell! Did people never ever leave Lupins alone? Ever? Something so easy had turned out to be so hard. He followed her silently into the lounge where Lupin still laid motionless like she was dead on the floor. Well, at least she had had the sense to not wake up. That helped. The otherwise perky woman went bouncing into the lounge, spotted her boss on the floor, and flew to her aid.

"Leave her," the cleanup agent said. The woman turned, and spotting the cloaked cleanup agent, she drew her wand. He did not even hesistate for a nanosecond. He struck her with an Avada Kedavra before she even knew what hit her. He saw the light leave her eyes before she hit the floor beside her director's limp form. He smiled satisfactorily. This would get Robert Lupin's full attention.

_____________________
Robert had felt something drastically amiss w/ Khaat even from the distance between them. He never could explain how that worked, but ever since Remus's death, he knew the instant something was wrong with his daughter. And all of a sudden, he felt a sharp drop in his own energies. That always was a huge red flag that Khaat was in trouble. He didn't know how. He just knew something was terribly wrong.

He apparated to St. Mungos, to her office. Most likely that was where she was. Brian's place was too well protected. She would, most likely, not be in trouble there, and even if she were, Brian was there. He checked her office. Lights burning like daylight in there. Paperwork askew across the desk. Yeah. She was here somewhere. He scanned across her desk looking for a clue. Ah ha! No coffee cup. So--she had gone to the lounge for a refill.

He walked quickly down the hall, his wand drawn, but he was not prepared for what he saw. Phaedra on the floor and Khaat beside her and a third wand laying several feet away. The window broken out, furniture utterly destroyed. Damn! What the hell had happened while he was gone?

He flew to both women on the floor. He saw instantly the moment he looked into Phae's eyes that she was gone. He sighed heavily. He hated to lose anyone, but certainly not a young healer and fighter like Phae. He checked on Khaat and breathed a sigh of deep relief. Unconscious. A sound knock to her head. She'd have a massive headache no doubt. He laid his hand on her shoulder and apparated her to the emergency room and left her there in the care of assistants for one brief moment. He immediately then sent an urgent owl to Matt Lestrange. The third wand bothered Robert. Someone was missing now too, and he didn't know who. Not yet. He was considering bringing Katherine in to see if her seer's abilities allowed them to determine who the missing person was. He apparated back upstairs and magically sealed the lounge to keep from evidence being contaminated, leaving poor Phaedra where she was for the moment. He had no choice. And he was hoping Matt would come quickly. Time, he felt, was of the essence.

Mistaken Identities Empty Re: Mistaken Identities

Matt had been silently bouncing a ball against the wall of his office when he got wind of the message. His arm was still in a sling so he wasn't much use to the Ministry at the moment. So a healer was dead and someone else was kidnapped. This being a constant thing these days that he already knew what to do. Grabbed his wand from his desk, through on his jacket, and apparated to St.Mungos.

When he got there, everything looked dead. It wasn't the hustle and busle as it normally was. He spotted a lady at the counter, she was always there everyday. "Where's Robert Lupin." he asked. Without and comment about him always being there she told him they were in the emergency room. Without a word he pretty much ran to the emergency room.

He spotted Khaat in a bed her eyes closed. He didn't know weather she was the one killed or not. But surely Robert would've told him in the letter. He walked over to her and placed a hand on her resting shoulder. She was breathing, so she was indeed alive. He loosened up a bit, but there was still a few healers here he'd hate to die. Specifically Emmy and Sophia.

He heard Robert come into the room behind him. "So who was it?" he asked not looking at him. He was afraid to ask even though he did. He didn't know if he could handle anything to come. "As my head of aurors contacing me first was well done." he said still not turning around.

Mistaken Identities Empty Re: Mistaken Identities

Post by Mariana Diggory Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:24 pm

[[OOC:I assume this is open if i'm wrong delete my post Very Happy]]

Mariana took the nightshift for the second time in 2 days. It's been almost 48 hours here though she felt rather awake for someone that had to drink coffee for the past couple of days. Alot of weird incidents have been happening so she had hands full of work.

A guy that was biten by a cobra or something simmilar just got in. First thing she did was give him the antidote and started to heal his biten hand that had an inhury all over it like there was a dozen of snakes not only one. Her wand was moving up and down on his shoulder at first. She finished putting the bandages on his shoulder when she started going to the other parts of his arm that needed the same healing process.

As she was putting bandage the floor shaked and something apperently exploded down in the lounge so she was thrown off balance and hit into the closest wall. Good lord what's going on... she said turning to the patient to tell him she will be right back before she sped up down the stairs to check what was going on.

The source of noise was not too difficult to find though Mariana did not expect to find anyone dead. Her eyes widely open as she saw one of her collegues on the floor. She tried to relive her, but it was too late. "Oh my god what happened here." she asked on loud looking at the room that looked like a rack.

Next moment she was already asking where Khaat is and when she found out she was in emergency room she almost wanted to be eaten by the ground. She arrived in quick steps watching at the sight. "Can somebody explain me what;'s going on? Why is there a dead healer in the lounge and why is Khaat here?" she asked trying to catch air shooting questions so quickly that not even Robert could catch them all.
