Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Skeeter stepped into the cafe, unbuttoning the top of his peacoat that he wore everywhere. He stopped by the front and ordered a coffee. He thanked the waitress and walked over to a small table nestled in the back. He pulled off his coat and hung it on the chair before sitting down.

The waitress brought him a coffee and he thanked her, nodding his head slightly. He blew on the surface of the coffee and then brought his lip to the mug and tentatively sipped the coffee. It burned his lips so he withdrew again. He blew it on it, causing little ripples in the dark liquid, and he drank again. Much better.

Sighing and smacking his lips he looked around. He rubbed his eyes with a knuckle and then ruffled his messy hair. He wondered if he looked as tired as he felt. It was hard adjusting to life as an independent adult. The nineteen year old still had a lot of things to learn...

He sipped his coffee again, falling deep into a thoughtful stupor.

Sophia walked into Cafe Twin Montez which was owned by one of her friends named Lucas. Sophia pushed opened the door as the bell tinkled above her head as she walked in into the place. Looking around the cafe she smiled at how warm and cozy it felt the moment she walked in the door. Walking up towards the counter and ordered a coffee and paid for it and took her seat in a booth by the window. Taking her book out of her black mini bookbag she started reading her new book she gotten from Black Raven bookstore.

As her coffee came she thanked the waitress and gave her a soft warm smile and put and boomarked her page she was reading and gotten her wand out from the inside pocket of her yellow leather jacket. As she pointed it to her coffee she made it cool down alittle to where she could drink it. Putting her wand back into her jacket she picked up her book and took thebookmark out abd started reading where she left off. Taking a sip of her coffee she never took her eyes off her book as she did it though. Sophia was wearing a black shirt with black leather pants with a yellow leather jacket with black boots. Her jet black hair was down wavy today.

Skeeter looked up and saw a woman enter the cafe. His eyes followed her as she made her way over to a nearby table. He glanced around the nearly empty cafe and then wondered if she would mind company. Skeeter wasn't trying to pick her up or anything, he just knew he needed to work on being more outwardly friendly. A good way to start would be to learn to approach people.

He tapped his table and then slid off of his hair, pulling himself to his full height and then slouching a little; he hated being so tall. He grabbed his coat and draped it over his left arm and then grabbed the top of his coffee mug with his large right hand. He bowed his head slightly and walked over to her table.

He paused as he reached it and cleared his throat, half-smiling, half-grimacing. "Erm...Hi. I, uh, oh, you're reading. Interesting looking book. Mmm Hmm. Yes, anyway, I was wondering... Would you mind if I joined you?" He half-smiled and then said, "I was over there, dying of boredom and loneliness."

Sophia looked up from her book when a tall man address her and asked she minded that she joined him. "Oh thanks, it's very interesting it's about the battles the wizarding world through the years."said Sophia softly. "Oh I don't mind if you join me, I was just reading to cure my boredom."said Sophua chuckling. "Oh so rude of me, I'm Sophia Lestrange."said Sophia softly. Bookmarking her book once again she put it back in her black mini bookbag and looked back at the man giving him a soft warm smile.

"So you were dying of boredom and loneiness huh? well the same for me, but all my friends are doing god knows what."said Sophia softly. Sophia hung out with her friends but she she wanted to give them some space to which was what she was doing. "You look familiar like I seen you from somewhere, did you go to Hogwarts?"Sophia asked him softly. Sophia knew she seen him around somewhere before but she couldn't put her finger on it. As she took a drink of her coffee she set it back down trying to figre out where she seen this guy at before.

Skeeter nodded, a smile pricking at the corner of his mouth, and dragging his lips upward a bit. He slipped into the hair after hanging his coat on the chair back and setting down his cup of coffee. He nodded at her explanation of the book. "Yeah, it looked interesting." She introduced herself and he quickly said, "Oh, I'm Skeeter. Skeeter Hudson." He nodded, still trying to get comfortable.

She said something about having no idea what her friends were up to and he smiled, though he felt a little hollowed inside. That was an understatement for him. He had not been in contact with any of his friend for some time now. Occasionally he would receive a letter from a friend or he would send an owl to a chum, but besides that, he had retreated into a solitude that could only resemble hermit-dom.

She examined him for a moment and he shifted, but before things could get awkward, she asked if he had gone to Hogwarts. He released his tension in a small smile and he nodded. "Yeah I did. I was a Ravenclaw. I graduated two years ago. I'm nineteen now."

"Nice to meet you Skeeter."said Sophia giving him a soft warm smile and took another sip of her coffee. Sophia nodded. "Indeed the cover does look nice, that was one of the reasons I picked it out!"said Sophia chuckling. It was true though, Sophia always picked out weird or cool looking book or book covers which she also found out made good books. When he said he went to Hogwarts and is a Rvenclaw graduate she smiled. "That's where I know you from you were two years ahead of me!"said Sophia softly.

"Sorry I just thought I knew you from somewhere I just didn't know where."said Sophia softly. "I just graduated from Hogwarts, I'm a Gryffindor Graduate.'said Sophia proudly and happily. "So if you don't mind me asking, what are you?"Sophia asked him softly and politely. "I'm a healer myself, but I'm still in my healing training to become a full healer."said Sophia softly. "Sorry I'll shut up now, you must think I'm nothing but a chatterbox."said Sophia laughing.

Skeeter smiled calmly and opened his mouth to comment on the book, but she was already exclaiming that she must have known him from Hogwarts. He conceded another smile and again opened his mouth, and once again, she was already in a small whirlwind of chatter about Hogwarts and then being a Healer. He opened his mouth to answer her question but was cut off with an apology.

He let out a chuckle and shook his head. "No it's okay. You like to talk, but who's to say that's a bad thing. You could have ignored me completely." He smiled again and said, "I am officially an Auror now. Brand spanking new at it and still kind of lost." He smiled.

"Wow... an auror huh? I know A couple of people that are aurors, but being the minister daughter you do get to know people in the ministry."said Sophia chuckling. Sophia shook her head when he said he's kind of lost in it. "Don't feel bad, I'm that way in my healing training."said Sophia chuckling and then giving him a soft warm smile. "Do you miss Hogwarts at times?"Sophia asked him curiously for she still did and it was just summer time. Sophia guessed it would take her a while to get use to not going to Hogwarts for she went there the pass seven years of her life.

Skeeter smiled, but he felt himself get slightly become more aware of how he behaved. She was the minister's daughter, he recognized the fact now, and if he wanted to keep his job he could not do anything that would make a bad impression on Sophia, and in turn, her father.

But the unambitious side of him told him to chill out, that he should be able to be himself outside of work hours, and it made a good point. He sipped his coffee and then smiled when she said it was the same with her work as a Healer. At least he was not the only one that felt a little out of sorts in their job.

She asked if he missed Hogwarts, and just by her tone and the question, Skeeter knew that Sopha missed it herself. He thought carefully, before saying, "Sometimes. I was never one for enjoying my studies and I had a few friends, but...I dunno. It feels nice to be an adult, but it is also tiring and terrible. So, yeah, I guess I do." He chuckled, smiling a half smile.
