Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Jemma was sitting in the lounge, going over her lesson plan for the younger years. She would take their first lesson in a couple of hours, and wanted to make sure it was all perfectly planned out. She was the only one in the staff room, as most members of staff were teaching. She checked her watch. They should finish first lesson soon, she thought. Jemma loved having nothing first lesson, she got to have a lie-in. She liked sleeping. A lot.

After five or ten minutes, she forced herself to stop making tiny edits. It is fine. Fine. There is nothing you can do to make the lesson any better. Just leave it. Leave it. She had a glazed look on her face, as the voices inside her head took over.

Robert walked into the staff lounge and instantly went to get a cup of coffee. As much as he loved teaching there was only so many times he could explain how the 'magical balls', that some naive third year had christened them as, worked. After some awful attempts at innuendos from the fifth years who were acting all suave Robert managed to get it all back on track and they continued with class. It didn't work with fifth years. They were bored in the easier classes and they weren't mature enough for the N.E.W.T lessons - plus Robert doubted their mental capacity, so where to put them? He felt that the O.W.L's would be easier and they would be in their comfort zone but there was no point in stressing over it.

Rob sat down on one of the sofa's and noticed Jemma scribbling away on a sheet of Parchment. Divination was boring - at least to him and Rob couldn't understand how you could make reading tea-leaves and looking for the 'magical balls' that he and a friend had pinched would help you in life. However, he remained indifferent about it and sat there with his coffee.

"There is only so much that you can do, Jemma." Rob reminded her. "They don't care, y'know. If you monumentally fail and spill tea all over the show or break one of the orbs then they'll think it is funny. Its what makes us all human ... or kind of."

(It would have been awesome if that did happen in a class. Hehe.)

Jemma had realised someone else entering the room, but she wasn't paying all too much attention. I need to finish this lesson plan. Like, now. I mean, I have the first lower-years lesson tomorrow! Oh, I wish Dream Interpretation was easier to teach. It's the best branch of Divination easily, it's just harder to teach at a lower level. Plus things like starters are harder to come by. The interesting little things. I can't do this now. Maybe later. Yes, definitely later. She put her quill down and drew her attention back to earth.

"Oh, hello Rob." she greeted her fellow Professor, as she saw who it was who had entered the room earlier. She listened to him, smiling at his comment. "Thankfully that hasn't happened in a lesson yet." she commented. Merlin, that would be awful. "I guess. Everyone is human. We all make mistakes." she added, though it didn't really add much to the conversation.

Jemma looked down at her watch. Or where her watch should have been. Dammit. I must have left it in my room. "Do you have the time?" she asked Rob. Class is soon. I can't be late! Being late for the first lesson of term would just be awful. Beyond awful. I need to give everyone a good impression, be a good role model. I.e. not being late for lessons! Not leaving my watch in the other room should probably come under that as well, actually...
