Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

The Ravenclaw Empty The Ravenclaw

Post by James Wake Thu Aug 20, 2009 5:42 pm

Hm... who do I know? James Wake thought to himself as his eyes lazily scanned the tables. The peaceful environment at Hogwarts was eating at him, the smiles, the laughs... it was almost as if the battle simply never happened. So many dead, so many wounded. But of course, the wizardly dead never bled in the Ministry Area. What bull.
He emptied his goblet of apple cider.

Its weird- I met so many students over the summer, but none of them were in my house... He spooned himself some mashed potatoes as the rest of the students chatted about their summers. As he timidly forked some of the potatoes, he realized that his expensive tastes would not be properly serving at the table. It would be nice if I could stay vegetarian here... is there any pizza?

The Ravenclaw Empty Re: The Ravenclaw

A new year, a fresh start. And no more Goddamn charms.

Alseki Mikkonen strolled leisurely along the great hall, watching students chatting happily to their friends. It had been a fairly eventful summer, but it was good to be back. His robes hung slightly lopsided on his shoulders and his tie loosely around his neck. He looked up at the ceiling: cloudy, with a hint of the sun shining through.

He reached his table, the Ravenclaw table, and found that it was still fairly empty. He sat down nearer the end and squirmed slightly on his seat. Dammit, I forgot how uncomfortable these benches can be. The food was already on the table, and at first he thought he had missed the sorting but then realised there were no annoying little firsties running around. Must be doing it different this year. Not that I'm complaining, I'm bloody starving. He reached over and grabbed a pile of chips which he then proceeded to dump on his plate and then piled immediately into his rather large gob. House elves outdone themselves this year, he muttered, his mouth still stuffed full. Where's the turkey?

Christy sat down with the rest of the Ravenclaws. At least they let me and Delk go through sorting over the summer before we got here. she thought as she looked at the table. She grinned a little keeping her mind off of the shock that her cousin was to be attending Hogwarts as well, less she could get away with anymore. She poured herself a glass of Pumpkin juice and looked at the rest of the students with her, "Interesting choices of food." she said looking at the boy sitting next to her muttering about house elves and turkey. The half-veela looked at him curiously.

For Christabelle

Nick had been seated at the Slytherin table for a half hour now, the feast was in full swing and everyone was having a good time. The headmasters speech had been as usual wacky but still sentimental. It was good to see all his old Slytherin friends but they were all occupied, sharing summer holiday stories. Nick on the other hand was picking at the ceaser salad heaped on his plate. He was hungry but not really in the mood, after drinking another glass of pumpkin juice and after assuring the third year seated next to him that the house elves were not being used as slave labour he focussed his attention elsewhere. Gazing over first at the Gryfindor table, then to the Ravenclaws.

They, like everyone else seemed happy to be back at school and everyone was catching up with old friends, except one girl. She was a rare beauty and sat rather bored looking, twirling her long blonde hair. Perhaps she was some sort of exchange student, after all they looked the same age, and no first years were developed like her. Nick shook off the hand's of a male friend making some sort of joke and stood up, striding over towards the Ravenclaw table. He stopped just behind her, and knelt on his knees at her side.

Nick drew his wand and spoke in a velvet like tone "Watch this" He levitated the napkin which had been sitting infront of her and with a swish of his wand the paper towel re-arranged itself into a white swan, which fell elegantly in Nick's hand. It was show off magic, not all Slytherins were big brutes who immersed themselves in the dark arts. He presented it to her with a charming smile "My name's Nick Valentine, forgive me but you looked so lonely."

Valentine wore a white shirt and a silver and green striped tie. His black Hogwarts jumper and his black un-buttoned robes were both trimmed with Slytherins green and silver. His dress trousers were black and his loafers were also black. He looked very clean and very sharp, a handsome boy indeed.

Christy watched the boy that levitated the napkin. She hadn't seen anyone use their magic to do such frivolous things and it amused her to see him do it. She looked at him curiously, paying attention to the uniform colors, obviously a Slytherin. "You're right I am." she said her German accent a little thick. She smiled sweetly at him, "I just transferred here this year." she continued to say, "Christabelle Whittle." she held out her hand towards him. "Lovely to meet you."

Nick could tell that his little trick had had the desired effect. He had caught her attention and that was all he needed for now. She was obviously either German or Austrian for that accent was such a giveaway. He took her hand in his and kissed it gently with his lucious pink lips. He spoke calmly "The pleasure is all mine I assure you." Looking up into her eyes he spoke again "Where is it you transfered from Christabelle Whittle? Allow me to be the first to welcome you to Hogwarts." Nick certainly was a charmer when he wanted to be. He unknowingly remained holding her hand and when he realised he quickly hid his embaresment by speaking again "May I sit next to you or must I remain knelt down on the floor." Nick smiled warmly, clearly joking...

She blushed slightly as he pressed his lips to her hand, "B..Beauxbatons." she replied, "My mother teaches there but they thought it be best if I got a more broader experience with my schooling." she giggled at his comment moving over enough for him, "No please sit." she continued to say.

The Ravenclaw Empty Re: The Ravenclaw

Nick smiled and rose elegantly to a standing position, seating himself next to Christabelle and some young Ravenclaw, who looked at him in awe. What? He felt like saying but he controlled himself and returned his attention back to Christabelle "Beauxbatons." He found himself saying "I always wished to just catch a glimpse of that place but alas, they have defences which some say surpass even Hogwarts. Tell me Christabelle is it as beautiful as they say? Obviously the rumors about its students are true." Nick winked clearly paying her another compliment.

Not wanting to appear like a love sick creep he used his prefect badge as a reason for his coming over to her. Pulling it out of his pocket he quickly pinned it to his robe and turned to face her "I am a prefect here, and even though Im not in your house, I could show you around sometime if you like?" Who would have thought a prefect badge could be used to pick up girls huh? Ingenious, he thought to himself.

"I wouldn't say its all that different than here." she replied, "But you have to know the exact spot to catch a glimpse of it if you want." she continued to say catching on to him pulling out his prefect badge. "Is that supposed to impress me?" she asked giggling, "But yes, I think I would love to be shown around the school sometime, keep me from getting lost I would hope." She could tell he was flirting with her, and she in response was shamelessly flirting back.

Nick laughed a little as Christabelle caught on to his little trick with the badge. He knew that girls liked confidence, and he had it in abundance, so he turned the charm back on and responded to her question "Well yeah, authority can be quite attractive, wouldn't you agree?" He was throroughly pleased she was going to take up his offer of a tour of the castle. It would be both educational and romantic, especially if they popped down to the lake afterwards "Hogwarts is pretty big but if you know your way around you will find it to be a rather small place. Ill take you down to the lake too, alot of famous people have sat by that lake on a summers day." He smiled and decided to enquire a little more into the girl before him.

Where to start though "So how old are you, Christabelle? Are you taking any NEWTS this year or is this your OWL year. What subjects are you in? You and I could end up in the same classes."
