Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

Hi. Li9olo10

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Dinner time had always been a siren song that lured Cecilia away from the cozy confines of the library and into the realm of socialization with her fellow housemates. Of course, "socialization" was a generous term for her usual silent presence at the table, engrossed in the pages of a book, only offering a few words when directly addressed. But today was different. Today, Cecilia had made a conscious decision to leave her beloved book behind, determined to be a better friend and put herself out there more.

As she made her way to the communal dining area, Cecilia felt a flicker of nervousness mixed with excitement flutter in her chest. The absence of her trusted literary companion felt strangely liberating, as if she were shedding a comfortable but isolating shell. With a resolved smile on her lips, she took a seat among her housemates, ready to embrace the art of conversation.

The lively chatter and clinking of cutlery filled the air, creating an atmosphere brimming with camaraderie. Cecilia looked around, observing the animated faces of her companions, each sharing anecdotes, laughter, and their own unique presence. It was a symphony of human connection, and she yearned to be a part of it in a more meaningful way.

Dinner time - of which, Nick was late again. He'd stayed out on the quidditch pitch well into dark, taking the opportunity to hone his visibility in the hours of dusk. It wasn't until the sun was all but nonexistent over the horizon did he realize how late he'd actually stayed out. It was at that moment he opted to take his favorite shortcut to the Ravenclaw common room: via broom, with a high arcing flight path over the lantern-lit courtyard, wrapping closely up and around the weathered stone tower until he made his landing upon the balcony that extended out from Ravenclaw tower.

After a change out of his flying gear, a quick wash up, and a change into a more suitable outfit for the evening - navy blue vest with the Ravenclaw emblem stitched into it, over a powder blue dress shirt, tucked into a pair of khakis - he then made his way down the spiraling staircase of the tower, and across the castle into the Great Hall.

As he entered the Great Hall, conjured candles high in the air illuminating the room, it was when he noticed how late he truly was. By this point, the students across the four houses had been well into their meals, engaged with each other in conversation, too occupied to notice the late arrival to their party. He made his way to the Ravenclaw tables, looking for an open seat, offering a few head nods of acknowledgement to a few class mates along the way, when he found just what he was looking for further down.

There was a spot at the table, the area was clean, and that section of the table was still offering a number of options for his meal that evening. His eyes fixated upon the open bench, and as he got closer to it, Nick noticed a girl sitting upon the other side of where he would be sat. He'd seen her around the past few years, but beyond that, had never had a conversation with her.

He took his seat across from the girl; albeit a bit to the right of across to afford himself some more space. "Hi, I'm Nick, nice to meet you", he offered as a courtesy.

Cecilia’s attention was drawn by movement on the other side of the table as one of her Housemates sat across from her and introduced himself. “Hello,” she spoke softly, the corner of her lips being tugged into a small smile. It wasn’t often that other students approached her. “I’m Cecilia.” she offered in return. a long pause as she thought of something to keep him interested in talking to her. "You're late." she finally sputtered.
