Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Necessity Empty Necessity

Post by Edgar Albert Doyle Mon Aug 19, 2019 11:27 am

Upon finally acknowledging the world existed beyond Diagon Alley, Doyle decided to take a limp down to Hogsmeade for a relaxing evening. A limp meaning he apparated close to the nearest pub, but he certainly tried to give the impression of actually strolling (i.e. hopping around with his cane) through the streets and exploring the world around him. In truth, he just had three to five steps, depending on how precise his Apparition was.

Doyle had closed shop not long ago. He needed a break. He also deserved one, in his own opinion, but he always did. In his own opinion. The thing with Blotter was slowly calming down as his annoying neighbour finally started realising who he was dealing with and slowly, but visibly, started retreating. In his world - that called for a celebration. He won! Well, he was on the way of winning, but when you need an excuse, you never need much.

Mulling over whether to go to Rosmerta's or Dumbledore's brother's place, he picked the former, mainly because he was not in the mood for the noise of the latter. He liked the Hog's Head, heck, he was on good terms with Aberforth, but he did not want any of the local company now. He wanted some quiet and The Three Broomsticks, a popular student meeting place, was better for that.

As he slowly limped inside, looking over his shoulders as to avoid any familiar faces, Doyle saw a free space in one of the darker corners of the pub, but also two love-struck students heading that way. ''Not today, you won't!'', he said and shot a spell at the boy, who suddenly lost his step and fell down. As his crush and the surrounding people went to see how he was, Doyle limped as fast as he could to take his desired seat. Upon sitting, he observed the boy. ''Bah, you'll be fine. You fell down, now get on your way, your blocking my view at our lovely host'', he shouted finally, leaning back into the chair, waiting for his order to arrive. ''Now, that is what I call entertainment'', he said to himself, smiling.

Necessity Empty Re: Necessity

Post by Lily Luna Potter Fri Aug 23, 2019 9:40 pm

There was a moment of clarity, halfway through the month. The effects of the full moon wore off, and she had not yet begin to feel the pangs of preparation for the coming month. For a few days, she didn't need the pain potions, and despite the itch inside of her always asking for more, she could keep it at bay and reclaim her mind for herself. It was a testament to some seed of strength within her that she could remain sober and firm of mind, even for just a few days. By the end of that time, her mind cleared and she felt more determined than ever to not use the potions, no matter how hard the moon was on her.

But the pains were too much. And it started with just one, one small sip to tide her over. And then the cycle began all over. Her whole life was a series of cycles she couldn't break from, and each fed into the other. It was too much for her to break from - so she remained trapped in the whirlpool.

But not today. In a few days time she would be back to drink potions between classes, a fog hanging heavily in her mind. But today she had plans, had aspirations. And today, she wasn't limited by her past failure. Yes, her prefecthood had been revoked, yes her grades had dipped. But she was a damn good Potioneer. And just working as a teacher's aide wasn't enough.

So imagine her luck when she saw Edgar Doyle limping towards the Three Broomsticks.

She stepped inside in time to see him berating students - wonderful. So, this was going to be fun.

She watched as the waitress began heading towards his table and she stepped forward. "I can take that," she said, taking the drink before walking over. She slid into the booth across from him.

"Hello, Mr. Doyle," she said, sliding the drink towards him. "My name is Lily. I wanted to know if you have any apprentice potioneer jobs available, or if you will come next summer."
