Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. The rain will always come after the sun Empty The rain will always come after the sun

While she was screaming in pain, Charlotte asked herself why she ever thought that she will be good at any kind of sport.
Once upon a time (a few weeks ago) she decided that she is the best choice for Quidditch team. She had big dreams about it. Hell, she used to think that she will be the star. And everything was fine until the first training.
She somehow succeeded to fall from the broom (while it was barely one meter in the air) and broke her arm.

She wasn't sure if her arm was really broken but it must be since it hurts as hell.

"Is there anyone who will actually help me?" she yelled angrily because it seems that people just doesn't care about her injury.
After this day is one, she will definitely send letter to the director of this place and tell him how terrible is his staff.

After his first day doing actual hands-on work with Michael, Apollo had taken an extremely serious interest in working more often in the actual St. Mungo's rooms. His confidence had taken a massive hit that day, and it didn't seem like he'd be back to normal for quite some time. The Minister, though supportive, may not have chosen particularly well.

He'd been doing decently, to be sure, and hadn't made anybody worse after their arrival, which was a good sign. But he was certainly no protégé or anything.

So it was with a slight mood lift that he walked back out into the waiting room, sending a little boy and his mother towards the secretary to check out. That, of course, was when someone let out a furious complaint. He turned, frowning, but then his eyebrows lifted immediately.

"Charlotte? What happened?" He asked, approaching. "Are you not on the waiting list?"

Granted, they were understaffed lately so he couldn't blame her for being impatient. But his gaze drifted down to her arm, trying to figure out what she'd done.

It was the really big mystery why school sent Charlotte at St. Mungo's when they have the hospital wing.
Maybe because she was complaining too much and they just decided that they don't want to have anything with her. And of course, Apollo was there.
She looked at him with agony on her face.

"I don't know if I am on the list. I just know this hurts as hell and no one care, obviously" she can be mean when she doesn't feel good. Maybe Apollo would think she was rude, but she really wasn't. She just wasn't able to control herself.

"Well, I was on my first training for Quidditch team, and I literally fall from the broom that was one meter in the air," she said and she felt humiliated. She can't even stay on the bloody broom.

Once she heard familiar voices her agony became even bigger. Charles and Amelia Waldorf were coming to her direction and she forced herself to smile.
"Mom, dad. What a surprise to see you here" she said sarcastically but still, the smile didn't leave her face.

"It isn't that nobody cares," he corrected her firmly. "It's that we're understaffed, and those with life-threatening problems have to come first. I'm sure it does hurt like hell. Trust me, I've been there. But healers are nothing if not caring." At least when we're on the job.

After all, he expected backlash for that comment, whether or not certain people would say he deserved it.

Apollo certainly understood the urge to train over the summer to prepare for Quidditch team tryouts the coming fall. But breaking one's arm only a few feet off the ground? That was certainly something. He couldn't wait for Christian to hear about this. Mainly because he wanted to know whether or not his brother had managed to get over what had happened. Somehow, he seriously doubted it.

So, of course, his eyebrows lifted in surprise. It took a special type of newness to the sport for something like that to occur.

Worse yet, the parents he'd always assumed were Muggles had just walked in, looking for her. What? Did Christian know that they weren't? Apollo supposed he must do, so that question wasn't raised. Particularly not in front of them. She was faking it, Apollo knew that much. So he would do so as well, if only to keep from being attacked by his brother down the line.

Oh, Christian didn't seem the type, to be sure. But things were a little different when it came to blood relatives, weren't they?

Despite knowing full well that he wasn't as qualified as her parents were going to hope for, Apollo refused to show any nerves, or admit to the fact that he'd been struggling to figure out where he fit. So many options had made themselves known but he was still trying to determine what he was actually good at. And for the time being, he was relying on Robert, Michael and Lily to lead him in the right direction.

"Mr. and Mrs. Waldorf, I take it." He said by way of greeting. "I was just about to take Charlotte into one of our patient rooms to see how bad the break is." Better, he figured, to go ahead and lay down what was happening before they started to fret - as he so often did, himself - and to ask a million questions. "If it's something that requires a potion, I can see to it that she's given the right sort. Hopefully it won't require that, as those sorts of breaks could take longer to properly heal. But, as I said, I don't know yet either way. If you'd like to come back with us, you're welcome to."

The rain will always come after the sun Empty Re: The rain will always come after the sun

"Well, I just hope that someone will come soon," she said while her face was distorted because of pain. Maybe sports really aren't her thing. If she succeeded to hurt herself on first training, what will be next? Will she day or something like that?

"You know, I start to think that this really isn't for me. But I was really looking forward to it. I thought maybe on that way I will find new friends or whatever." She wasn't even sure why she is telling that to him. It's not like they are friends so she could open her soul to him.
Charlotte decided to believe that the pain was what forced her to talk. And, of course, she didn't stop.

"Everyone says I need more friends. And I thought sport is the best way. I will have the team! Damn it, I'm not even sure why I am telling this to you" she shook her head and looked around in hope that someone would finally help her.

"Mom, dad, seriously. Go back to home. Who the hell called you?" She looked at her mother but the only thing she saw was the angry face.
"Charlotte! Language! Someone may think that you are raised by wolfs!" Amelia said and shook her head in disappointment. They looked, though, at Apollo concerned and with the hope that they would find out what happened to their daughter.

"We will wait here. Thank you for helping" Amelia smiled and Charlotte stood up from the bed without even thinking about her injury anymore. She just wanted to be far away from them.
"Okay, let's go to that room. And you two, you should really go home. There is nothing to be worried about" she smiled again. Why they just can't leave.

"Okay Apollo, where I should go?" She looked at him almost begging him to show her way so she doesn't need to look at her parents anymore.

"You're telling me because you probably assume I have authority on the subject," Apollo suggested. "You would be mistaken, however. Christian and Ace hang around me because they're used to it. Molly does because we can keep quiet without it being weird. And Naomi only hangs around to watch Aleksa try to win me over. Even though it didn't work the first time around."

He shrugged. "But you're right about the team. At least they're required to spend time with you. The odds of you finding friends in the Ravenclaw team is much higher than me finding them in mine, though. Perhaps you should practice on a smaller scale to start out with."

Apollo couldn't answer Charlotte's question about who had called her, but he had a sinking suspicion that Christian would feel uncomfortable in a situation like this, not half because sh spoke to her parents as the boys never could. But the fact that she had somehow managed to appear calm was relatively impressive, but also amusing. So when she turned back to him, he gestured for her to follow him down a hallway.

"You can pick a chair or the covered table, whichever suits you," Apollo told her when they made it to the room assigned to them. "I'll run a couple of tests and see how bad it is. Hopefully you can just brave your way through a spell to fix it, but if you need a potion I'll go grab that. Got any questions so far?" He asked as he looked over the paperwork he would have to fill out for her.

(broken arm is more than enough I think)

"So the thing you are trying to tell me is that..." she paused for a second and then looked at him with the bright smile on her face.
"You are an outsider! Just like me! Finally! I thought I am the only one in the world" she shook her head. That probably wasn't what he tried to say, but to be honest, at the moment she didn't care. Thought that someone is like her will probably help her to sleep better and that was more than enough for her.

"Why would you say that? What is wrong with your team?" That was probably none of her business but look at her, she is in hospital, in a pain, she needs some kind of distract. And that was just what Apollo can offer to her at the moment. Something to think besides the pain and the fact that she was probably the queen of clumsiness.
Seriously, people need to appreciate people like her more, because being that clumsy was really hard but somehow, she was the perfect person for that.

She followed him more than happy to be as far away as possible from her parents. When he shows her few chairs she sat on the first one because all of them looked same to her so why would she be picky? Under normal conditions, she would probably have one or two jokes about how ugly this place was, but this just wasn't the right time for that.
Charlotte looked at Apollo listening carefully and then she frowned.
"I have one question. Do you have the potion that tastes like watermelon? Because I swear, if you try to force me to drink something that tastes like the dirt or something like that, I will curse you."
