What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. I can't pick just one. My initial thought was visual, but I really have to have all three if I want to do something well. Like with colorguard, I couldn't just hear how it worked or watch it work; I had to work on it for a while. Same with violin. I needed to hear and see if, but that wasn't enough.

On the other hand, in science and things like that I can just see it done once or twice and remember how to solve a certain type or problem. So maybe it depends on if it is something physically demanding or something more intellectual for me? I'm not sure, honestly.

I am definitely an audio learner. Not that hands on learning isn't important, but generally, if I attend a class and have to take notes, I miss out on content b/c I don't absorb it while I'm taking notes. On the other hand, if I just put the notebook away and tune in, I get it far, far quicker. Best grades in college happened when I quit trying to take notes.

I've started using the Word application, the notebook version, to record lectures so I can listen the first time and then have the audio to make notes off of later. Much better for me.

For me it depends. Like I'm a very musical person, so when I'm learning vocal pitches or piano pieces it helps to hear what I'm doing while learning it. Most other things however, like sport skills or anything athletic, I had to be hands on. For school I just had to listen to a basic concept of the idea, then figure it out by doing it myself. So all in all I think it depends on the activity.
