Do re mi

Ridley walked into the book store and began reading a book on wizard bands and found herself being entirely fascinated. It was so interested to see how much the muggle world and the wizard world had in common. For example music. She began humming and tapping her fingers.

Before she knew it, she was singing softly to herself,
"I hear melodies in my head
Find little notes in my bed
I’ve got songs tangled up in my hair
I see piano keys everywhere
My heart is a beating drum
Repeating my favorite song
I hear Beethoven number Nine
All the time."

Ridley pulled out a quill and some parchment and began writing the lyrics. She then began to work on the chorus for her song.

“And it's kind of like do re mi
About as easy as a b c
Beautiful like a symphony
I’m talking about you and me here”

She smiled down at her work when she saw a shadow standing over here

John had been reading a book on magical creatures when he looked up hearing some one begin to sing a song he knew. Tucking the book under his arm he chuckled as he watched the girl walk around the store. Slowly he walked up behind her and listened the book still in his hand.

"You’re so wrong that it makes you right

He sang behind her once she stopped singing and he chuckled " sorry couldn't resist, Melodies right?" he asked and smiled " Its a good song" he added as he lent back on a pole behind him " John walker. seen you around school, your two years above me, I should be in fifth by now."

Ridley turned as she heard another voice and smiled. She kept singing the song

She smiled when he spoke, "Yeah, by Madison Beer. I love her. She has such an amazing voice. And yes. Im a 6th year, Hufflepuff. Im Ridley, by the way. Ridley Watson."

John smiled and nodded " John Walker, just call me John, every one else does, fifth year Ravenclaw, and yeah she did Valentine as well." He said looking at her. " so you here to get a book for school?" he asked and chuckled " they got some good music ones, I play guitar and sing myself but not in a band, that fell threw kinda" he rubbed the back of his neck as he stood a bit nervous. He looked behind her and moved closer to pull one out. “Shame she didn't do a biography bet that would be interesting to read” He said with a smile as he opened the book he'd pulled out.  After looking at it he placed it back on the shelf.

“You looking forward to the start of the new school year?” he asks “I'm hoping that I'll be moved up a year this year should be in year six but..” He shrugged his shoulders.“Left for a year then came back.” He quickly explained

Ridley smiled softly and giggled, "Yeah a book on Madison beer would be interesting. It could be called 'Behind the beer'." She laughed because she knew beer was a muggle alcohol and it just seemed funny. She pushed her red hair out of her face and her golden eyes shone in the light of the book store. "Yeah Im pretty excited. 6th year and all that." She smiled and listened to him. He talked alot, but she kind of liked it. It meant she didnt have to do all the talking for once. "Oh really? Where did you go?" She asked curiously

He schuckled and noted her red hair and the sparckle in her eyes as he stood smiling as he did and as she spoke. "Oh no where, just to see my dad." He saidshifing as he stood. " I needed to get things straghtened out with him, now its done and Im sticking to school so I can graduate." He told her "Need to if I'm to work with my dad and my uncles." He chuckled softly again "My dads emplyer has told me if I do well he'd give me a job in his company." he looked at her again " well if I can get potions down, never get that lesson right, always end up blowing some thing or some one..namely me , up."

Ridley listened closely and smiled a bit, "I see. What does your dad and uncles do exactly?" There were lots of job opportunities in the wizarding world that fascinated Ridley. She was curious as to what John wanted to do after school. Ridley already knew her course of plan, so she liked to hear others. "Potions? Im excellent at Potions. If you want, I could help you out some time." She said pushing her hair out her face again because it kept falling in her eyes and bothering her. "Im pretty sure I can help to where you wont be blowing up anything or anybody."

He looked at her as she spoke and smiled as he rubbed the back of his neck "Well..its complicated , My dad was in the texas rangers early on, but now he works for the minister on his security detail as do my uncles, but he's an Auror too" He told her best he could.

" I want to do that too, eventualy" he told her," but I do love to sing too" he shrugged his shoulders " who knows." he smiled at her. " what about you what do you want to do?" he asked curiose to what she wanted to do when she left school.

"Thats very interesting. The Texas Rangers... isnt that like some kind of Muggle sports team? Football or something?" She asked, wondering if she had her information right or not. She smiled when he asked her what she wanted to do after Hogwarts, "What do I wanna do? Thats an easy one. I plan to go to America. Los Angeles, actually. The city of Angels and dreams. Im gonna become a singer. Or an actress. Maybe both." She said a light blush spreading across her cheeks. "I know its a childish dream. But its my childish dream." She stood up and smiled, "Would you like to go get a coffee with me?"
