Sorbet Sunday Empty Sorbet Sunday

Post by Hallie Cooper Sat Mar 15, 2014 12:19 am

As usual Hallie had gone an extended period of time without seeing Maura. The two had wrote to each other although with Hallie just getting back to work and her auror trainee exam drawing nearer and nearer Hallie hadn't found the time to write everything she needed to in a letter. The blonde had been so busy that she'd even missed the dress fitting with the other bridesmaids for Maura's wedding, as a result Hallie had resorted to meeting Maura in Diagon Alley on Sunday at eleven o clock. It would mean Maura rising early to sneak out of Hogwarts and use the floo network in Hogsmede but it was worth it, there was simply no other option.

'Hopefully I wont be reduced to tears this time.' Hallie joked as the pair entered the ice cream store. The last time the pair caught up here Hallie was updating the Hufflepuff on her mugging and being reunited with Toby. With her Mother recently starting work at Hogwarts and holding her secret in Hallie's emotional state reached an all time high and caused her to flea from the store with a trail of tears. Today that wouldn't happen as today Hallie only had good news.

'You look well!' Hallie added, noticing the glow radiating from Maura as the pair found a table in the window. 'I can't believe I haven't seen you since the weekend before Christmas, when Henry showed up.' The last part the blonde mumbled slightly, more out of guilt than fear of bringing the topic up. Hallie hadn't told Maura but she felt guilty for what happened. It was her fault Maura had ended up in a coma in St Mungo's whilst she was locked helplessly in the attic of Borgin and Burkes being tortured. Henry had simply overpowered them and hopefully, with his trial in sight, justice would prevail.

'I'm sorry about-' Although before Hallie could finish apologising for something that wasn't entirely her fault the waiter had arrived to take their orders - Hallie ordered sorbet, raspberry sorbet. After all the extra hours she was working at the Ministry to make up for her time off something refreshing was in need!

(ooc: sorry my writing style is a bit weird I've had time off and gotten out of the groove. Oh and I'm sorry for god modding Maura sitting down in the window seat but I figured it wouldnt be too bad to do that?)

Maura was already up early due to her not being able to sleep any longer. Maura really haven't been able to get a good night sleep in about a month. If it wasn't her being sick, it was her being uncomfortable due to Ciara moving. Grabbing her firebolt, Maura headed down to the Great Hall to get something to eat before heading towards the Entrance Hall. Turning herself invisible, Maura gotten on her firebolt before flying towards Hogsmeade towards the Three Broomsticks. Grabbing some floo powder she threw it into the fire before she grabbed some floo powder and said her destination before she disappeared in the emerald flames.

Coughing Maura brushed the ashes out of her outfit and hair before getting out her wand again cleaning herself up. "If Ryo finds out about this, he won't be happy. " Maura thought to herself. Ryo didn't want her to do anything that would hurt her or Ciara, so she always tried to be careful at all times. But sometimes it was unavoidable, she sometimes gotten pushed or bumped into at times. Although when people noticed she was pregnant, they treated her as if she was made of glass which annoyed her some.

" Oh glad you think I am Hal, because I don't feel or look like I am. " said Maura honestly. "If it's not me being sick, it's me uncomfortable due to Ciara moving. "said Maura softly. Wincing in pain as Ciara kicked Maura noticed Hallie gave her a worried look. " It's ok Hal, Ciara just kicked me and sometimes it hurts when she does. "said Maura honestly. " But it'll all be worth it when I hold her in my arms. "said Maura smiling. "I feel so bad for Ryo, I know he feels bad cause I'm sick in pain I can see it in his eyes. " said Maura softly.

Maura frowned when Hallie told her that they haven't seen each other since the weekend before Christmas. Maura knew Hallie felt guilty about what happened, but honestly it wasn't her fault. Maura was sort of asking for it when she told Henry off, but that was Maura for you, always protecting her friends even if she gotten hurt. Maura always put her friends and loved ones before herself, she would die to protect he friends and loved ones. Although many times Maura almost did, there was numerous times where Maura shouldn't even be alive but she was.

" Hallie it wasn't your fault. " said Maura softly before the waiter came and took their orders. Maura ordered some cookie dough and chocolate mint ice cream. Maura been having ice cream and soup lately for it was the only thing she could basically keep down,. Although Ryo sometimes teased her telling her ice cream was basically all she ate now days, but that wasn't true, she ate other things she just craved ice cream more.

Hallie knew how excited Maura was for the pregnancy, she knew that her best friend was strong enough to withstand a little kicking from what would soon become the most precious thing in her life. Even the blonde herself wanted children, now? No. Although in the future she definitly wanted to wave goodbye to her daughters and sons as they boarded the Hogwarts Express. Perhaps it was because she came from happy household, sure it had been ripped to shreds, but before her Father died they were the ideal family. The family the Ministry would use in their propaganda to support the marriage law, apart from Hallie's parents had gotten together because they actually wanted to.

'It was my fault, it was me Henry was after and-' Hallie broke off, the memory of Henry torturing her, infecting her leg, chaining her to the beams in the attic. She'd gotten through it but her physical reminder of the incident would never leave her, not unless someone invented some way of regrowing a leg by magic. Hallie could only hope.

'Theodore and I have sorted things out.' Hallie began, changing the subject. 'After the whole him having my leg removed we've got passed that. I think, I think we'll be happy.' She added, a cheeky smile flashing across her face as she grinned down at the raspberry sorbet that had appeared before.

The fact that Theodore had loved her, even without a leg, had been such a positive for Hallie. After her leg being amputated she'd thought she could never be loved, that the missing leg had sacrificed her sex life. Apparently not.

"And I gotten in the way. "said Maura softly before she scooted her chair closer to her and hugged her. "Stop blaming yourself Hal, it's not your fault. "said Maura softly. "Henry is a complete arse, and I'm glad he's going to pay for what he did. "said Maura darkly. Maura honestly didn't know what happened to him, he used to be a very sweet guy. Maybe the dark magic gotten to him, changing him.

"Oh my gosh Hal, I'm so happy for you!"said Maura happily hugging her. " Looks like Sophia did a good job on your leg though, I can barely tell it's fake. "said Maura honestly. "I'm glad your finally happy Hal, you deserve it. "said Maura smiling. After everything they been through, they deserve finally deserve to be happy. It made Maura happy to see that they were finally getting something they always wanted.

Digging into her ice cream, Maura allowed the orange sorbet goodness to slip down her throat. " I'm leaving Hogwarts soon Hal, it's not the same there, and plus Sophia thinks it's best for me to take it easy until Ciara is born. "said Maura softly. "Speaking of Ciara, I would like for you to be her godmother. said Maura. "You don't have to, it's just your my best friend and I couldn't think of anyone I wanted or trust to be her godmother. " said Maura softly but honestly.

Glaring into the raspberry sorbet below Hallie pursed her lips in anger at what Henry did to her. He'd violated her beyond means, she was thankfully it was only torture and nothing more but even so she'd lost a limb and the past three months Hallie had come to realise how important a leg was to a person.

'Thanks, Maura.' Hallie replied softly, her eyes warming slightly as the memory of her hostage slowly dissolved into the background of her thoughts. Taking another scoop of her sorbet Hallie thought about her leg. Sophia had done a good job, an incredible job even. So much so that now she was used to the leg Hallie herself barely noticed a difference. Of course when she consciously pondered on her leg she had trouble walking, perhaps out of nerves and fear?

The plastic spoon fell from Hallie's fingers landing lightly besides her tub of sorbet.

'Of course I'll be the Godmother!' Hallie gasped, her eyes completely ridden of thoughts about Henry are replaced with joy and love. The pair had been through a lot, a hell of a lot the past year and even before then they had been each others rocks through Hogwarts and now, now was the evidence of how strong their friendship truly was.

Unable to contain her excitement Hallie, who was still sat close to Maura, embraced her best friend in a hug.

'You do know you'll never see the end of me now don't you?' Hallie grinned before tucking into her sorbet once more and licking her lips with delight. It really was the perfect catch up.

'What are you doing about your NEWT's?' Hallie asked. Maura would need NEWT's to become a healer, granted she was already an intern, but they were still a requirement. Then again if Hallie knew Maura she guessed a bit of time off from work before she got her career in order was expected so she could bond with Ciara. Moreover Sophia probably could expand the rules slightly to allow Maura to follow in her footsteps - that's if she even wanted to become a healer still.

"You deserve to finally have to love Hal, after all you went through you deserve it. "said Maura softly. "I'm glad you get to feel what I feel, that's what I wanted for you since Henry. "Maura murmured the last part. "Ugh... why in the hell is in almost all our conversations?"Maura asked darkly. Maura hated him, not that she hated him for hurting Hallie but she hated him for torturing her.

Maura smiled when she accepted to be Ciara's godmother. " I'm not going to regret this am I?"Maura asked her chuckling. "I don't want you spending more time with her then me."said Maura joking with her.

Maura chuckled and laughed before she hugged Hallie her best friend who she was there through everything. From all the hell they went through, they were there for each other through the good and the bad.

Maura nodded and chuckled. "Yeah I know, but I wouldn't have it any other way. "said Maura smiling. "Like I said I better not regret it. ?"said Maura before chuckling and smiling at her. "Oh here's a shocker, Sophia and Ryo are related there are brother and sisters!"said Maura. "Well.... half, but I always thought they were, due to them knowing when the other was in danger and stuff. "said Maura. "Apparently Soph said that father are the same, but they have different mums Soph said they took tests and it proved they were indeed brother and sisters. "said Maura happily.

"Sorry I'm rambling aren't I? " Maura asked her chuckling. "Sorry.... just always looked Soph as a big sister, and now she will be once me and Ryo are married!"said Maura happily. "As for my NEWTs, I'm taking home schooling and once it's time to take my NEWTs I'll take them at Hogwarts. "said Maura simply. " I got it already worked out, although I'm one of your mums top students I hope she won't be mad at me for leaving. "said Maura softly.

Hallie sighed at the mention of Henry again. He'd once been such a huge part of her life, for a time he'd vanished, fell off the map and once again he'd returned. Although this time it wasn't because he'd cheated on her, or because she was so in love with him it was because of the stupid marriage law. Sometimes she really did hate the fact that she loved Theodore.

'WHAT?' Hallie cried in astonishment, a drop of sorbet spraying from her teeth. ('Eurgh'). Quickly cleaning up the sorbet with a napkin Hallie listened in surprise at how Ryo and Sophia shared the same Father. 'Gosh, everyone in this wizard world is related. Next it will turn out we're actually fourth cousins or something crazy like that.' Hallie replied, pausing for a moment as though that was before laughing it off.

'I'm sure it will make things easier for my Mum - she'll have one less student to worry about.' Hallie joked with a quick wink as she finished off the remainding raspberry sorbet from the tub.

It was coming up, her secret, her worry, her fear. 'I'm late.'

Maura nodded.  "Don't feel bad Hal, I was shocked to as you said are. " Maura softly. "I still am. "said Maura honestly.   Maura chuckled at her reply.  "That wouldn't be so bad. "said Maura chuckling.   " Despite this stupid law not working for some people,  I'm glad it worked out for us in the end. "said Maura honestly.

" Perhaps your right Hal, plus she doesn't have to worry about me that much anymore. "said Maura honestly.  " I know she was one of the people who watched me. " said Maura softly.   " I'm going to miss having tea with her,  it was always fun having tea with her."said Maura honestly.

Hearing that she was late,  Maura spat out her chocolate mint ice cream as it ended up in her hair.  " Wait a minute Hal, you mean late late right?"Maura asked wanting to make sure.  "If that's the case,  when did you and Theodore make love?"Maura asked her curiously.  " How was it?"Maura asked her smirking.  "Wow... I honestly don't know what to say,  I'm honestly surprise by this. " said Maura honestly.

Hallie couldn't help but surpass a grin, this really wasn't something to grin about but Maura's hair and the grin on her face was rather contagious.

'You have something in your hair.' Hallie said, diverting the answer to Maura's question by distracting her with a napkin.

'We've done it.. Well... Lots.' Hallie said, although the last word was more of a mutter. Since the couple had bitten the bullet and done it once each time after that it had gotten easier, more exciting, more euphoric. Theodore was incredible, they were incredible, everything about Theodore being in her bed was incredible - and sometimes not in the bed.

Hallie didn't feel the need to say how incredible it was, the fact they were doing it 'lots' would be enough of an answer for Maura.

Maura smirked and smiled when she told her they did it lots of times. Maura didn't need to ask any more, she knew by the expression and smile on her face it was incredible. " Well... if it was incredible, why are you worried Hal didn't you want this?"Maura asked her softly. " Wait a minute your pregnant aren't you? "Maura asked her best friend softly. Maura didn't know for sure, but she had a feeling she was. But Maura wondered why she wasn't happy about it.

" Hal you don't look happy about something, is it that you don't want a baby?"Maura asked her softly. " Hal if you are pregnant, this is great news!"said Maura smiling at her. "Ok... so it might effect your career and stuff, but hey look at me I'm pregnant in my last year of Hogwarts and I'm happy cause I have a loving fiancé behind me and so will you, but Theodore is your husband. " said Maura.
