Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Needs Must Empty Needs Must

Post by Francesca "Cesca" Malfoy Mon Feb 03, 2014 10:22 pm

Francesca hated Defense Against the Dark Arts. Not only was it her worst subject, but the homework often involved having to go to the library to look things up. It wasn't that Cesca disliked books, but more that she disliked the large number of people that the Hogwarts Library tended to attract. The girl was something of a loner, and while she wouldn't protest to having a few more friends, was content that way.

Upon reaching the library, the blonde couldn't help the scowl that settled across her features. The place was packed. Apparently she wasn't the only student who had been procrastinating assignments. Scanning the room in an attempt to find an empty table, Cesca's frowned deepened when she didn't find one.

Glancing around the room once more, Cesca found a round table with only one girl sitting at it. The other witch looked about a year or two older than the Malfoy, and judging by the colors of her tie was a Ravenclaw. Figuring that most Ravenclaw's weren't too bad, the teenager headed towards the brunette.

"Mind if I sit here?" Cesca asked with a polite smile, sliding into the seat before the other girl could respond. Opening her bag, the Hufflepuff began to dig through the contents, searching for the assignment that would be collected the next morning.

Jessica did came to library since it was one of thr quietest places in the Hogwarts. She needed to do some homework. Girl placed all her necessary books on one of the empty tables. Soon she opened her first book and began to read it. She liked to study and also know more than professor tells them in class, so usually reads more from books.

She suddenly heard someones voice. She looked up there and saw there girl who sat even down before she could say something. "I would have said yes anyways," she said mostly to herself and looked back at her book. She began to read it again.

That had been... unexpected. The other girl had commented upon her rudeness, but not in a way that would start any sort of disagreement, and then gone back to her reading. It was almost like the Ravenclaw simply didn't care. Cesca wasn't used to that; everyone had some sort of opinion on her, even if they'd never said so much as a word to her before. It was just how her life worked, something that she had long ago resigned herself to. She was a Hufflepuff Malfoy, after all, something which hadn't happened since the fifteenth century. And even then the poor boy had gone missing under "mysterious circumstances". The blonde was lucky she could think so well on her feet, or she'd have been disowned during her very first week of school.

"Right, well, thanks," the Hufflepuff stuttered out, not sure what one was supposed to do in this sort of situation. The witch rarely interacted with others as it was, and even then it was the type of interaction she could easily control. This Ravenclaw was something of a wild card, a complete unknown. Cesca was as hesitant as she was fascinated.

Frowning down at the assignment, the blonde smoothly raised herself from her seat, and wandered over to one of the Defense shelves. Grabbing the first two books that looked like they could have something to do with Erklings, Cesca headed back to her chair, trying not to look at the other girl despite her curiosity.

Jessica didn't care that she was Malfoy and even hufflepuff over fifteen centuries. She never paid attention for such stuff either. It was not her business why she was in hufflepuff not in slytherin like other Malfoy's are. Jess just doesn't seem to get why it is so freaking important right now to be said out loud that you should be slytherin not hufflepuff or something like that.

She kept reading her book and also did write some things down too so it would be easier to remember important stuff. She took other book since she was done with first one now. Jessica looked at that girl when she heard her saying something. Soon looked back at her paper and write some important words down and then began to read again. She totally ignored girl right now. She came to study here right now not talk. Also for some reason for her that girl sounded little rude or it was just her imagtion. She sighed.

The Ravenclaw was ignoring her, ignoring her. Cesca wasn't the type of girl one ignored. If anything, she was the one who did the ignoring. She was odd, this girl. The blonde would have to keep an eye on her. She was... different.

Frowning down at her parchment, the blonde flipped open the first book she'd grabbed and started to write. Erklings, distantly related to the House Elf, are magical creatures with the status of Beast. Despite their small size, they are classified as XXXX by the Ministry of Magic, placing them in the second highest danger...

Throwing her quill down with a sigh a few minutes later, Cesca glared at her parchment. She'd only written twelve of the twenty necessary inches, and the assignment was due the next day. Defense was by far her least favorite subject, but usually it was only the practical portions of the class she couldn't stand. It was just her luck that today seemed to be something of an exception.

Jessica didn't care what that girl thinks of her now. Actually she tries to not show it out. She sighed and still read and also write doen necessary words for to underatood this subject, so she can later finish the assingment. She finished book and began to write now full sentences.

Jess looked at the girl for second when she did throw her quill. "What's the matter with you? Why need to throw the quill?" she asked and she may been even sound little bit rude but she didn't get what's wrong with that girl now. She looked back at her own work and began to write again.

Cesca's head jerked upwards as the other girl addressed her once more. The Ravenclaw had asked her why she'd thrown her quill, and her tone hadn't exactly been friendly. If it had been almost anyone else sitting across form her, the blonde would have responded instantly with a witty comeback and that would be that. But it wasn't anyone else.

The Hufflepuff kept an eye on her fellow students. She listened to gossip, and watched interactions, and was aware of who held the highest marks. She was a waiter; always there, always sitting and listening and waiting. But this girl had never been brought to her attention before. And that was unusual, considering the other girl's age. It seemed that the Ravenclaw hadn't been involved in anything big or scandalous that the blonde was aware of. That was unusual, for a Hogwarts student.

"Oh, I'm sorry, just frustrated," the girl responded with a smile filled with shining white teeth, "don't particularly like Defense."

Jessica looked at that girl and just nodded quietly to her. "It makes sense now," she said quietly back to her. She wasn't that good in that subject but she did get it better than most students in her class. She looked at hers work and soon she did finish writing it.

"If you need help then I can try and help you, even if i'm not that good in that subject too," she then said to her and did even smile a little bit. She wasn't sure how much help she will be but she wanted to help her out. She wasn't sure if she will like that idea or not but she at least suggested it.
