GENERAL APPEARANCE:
As a young girl, Mairen was often complimented for her soft features and long hair, and scolded for her fiery temperament. The same still rings true, though her temper is far more under control. She still has her soft features, large (and equally bright) eyes, and a large smile that is often called 'charming. Mairen's mum claims Mai's looks came from her, rather than her father.
On normal days, Mai would choose a skirt and nice blouse or shorts, rather than pants of any sort. She isn't particularly opposed to getting dirty, but that's mostly because she wouldn't show her upset due to her pride. She would undoubtedly run to change were that the case, but she certainly wouldn't show her embarrassment.
Mairen loves dressing up, but usually saves it for particularly important days or events. She has a habit of messing with her hair to learn new ways to wear it if only so later in those times where she can dress up. This usually involves her watching videos on her mum's Muggle Computer and learning new variations on braids or curls or the like.

PATRONUS: It sounds a bit odd, but she has to admit that there's always a thrill when someone realizes who she is (or rather, who her father is), or notices her talents. Praise makes her nervous, but she appreciates it immensely.
VERITASERUM: Though it's irrational, and she would never tell her father, but Mairen is afraid that no one will appreciate her or fall in love with her unless it's for her father's accomplishments.
PERSONALITY:
Mairen often entertains her father, because while his music was so much more on the rock side, and she tends to re-make old songs and make them either more calm, or more lyrical. She supposes it is rather strange compared to her need for adventure and to try new things. But her music is one of the only times Mairen wants to be calm and without a care.
Mairen is unafraid of boys, unlike some of her friends. She sees no problem with flirting with them if she doesn't nothing serious, and makes a point to say she doesn't mean it. Perhaps it's wrong, but she is one who rather loves the idea of living life to the fullest. Everything about the world entertains her, and she sees no reason to pretend otherwise.
Mairen is fairly prideful, though she wouldn't know it unless someone insulted her. Even if she is proud of herself she wouldn't show it. She just refuses to allow her pride to be wounded by anyone – even her friends. She only hopes they know her well enough to like her and not

CHARACTER HISTORY

Early Years:
Merton and Brea married while the Weird Sisters were still on tour, and Mairen was born just before they set off the next year. Immediately, the tension between Brea and Merton was formed, but they refused to hurt Mai by breaking it off. Determined to work it out, they would go on trips together, leaving Mairen with her grandmum Sophia for weeks at a time.
Brea, as an Advertising Agent for a firm in London, often took Mai with her, inspiring the young girl's interest in innovating and experiencing new things. At the same time, Merton would play Cello any time he was home and Brea would allow it. Not surprising, really, that Mai immediately fell in love with both the Cello and music in general.
Hogwarts Years:
Sorted into Gryffindor, Mairen immediately knew she would fit in with the rowdy, chaotic bunch of red-and-gold-clad students. Though it didn't often take long for her to make friends, she had never been so closely involved with her friends – living with people constantly felt odd to an only child. She would never say so, but Mai often found herself enjoying the breath of fresh air that was her time at home. Although the house was full of tension, her parents would never fight in front of her.
Over her years, she definitely wasn't top of her class, but she never had to worry about her grades. Free time was spent at the Quidditch matches and among her closest friends. Otherwise, she was chatting with anyone who would listen, teasing her friends about boys, and avoiding any real form of sport.
Adulthood:
Mairen decided to go to University, knowing that the chances of her succeeding immediately, or indefinitely, as a performer. She chose to study law, so that if all else failed, she could manage performers or work with the Ministry and feel connected to the world and business she loved. Finishing in just two years, she was glad to be done with it.
After Mairen graduated, her parents seemed to realize that they didn't have to stick together in order to convince Mai that her life was going well, and knew that she wouldn't blame herself if they chose to divorce. After they did, Mairen could feel the tension leave her house as Merton bought a place of his own. She often visited him, though she stayed on with her mum and took her mum's name.
Mairen currently works at the Ministry, interning under someone in the Magical Law Enforcement department. What she really wants to do, though, is work – at least as a hobby or on the side – in Theatre and music like her father. She has the connections but doesn't want to fail if she doesn't have a real chance at the performing side of things. She needs a backup so she decided it would behoove her to intern.
