Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

It's all cooling down Empty It's all cooling down

Post by Jonathan Finch-Fletchley Fri Oct 04, 2013 2:21 am

The weather was beginning to cool down and autumn made itself known with the cool breezes and the changing of the leaves colors as they began to fall from the branches of trees. A rather happy Hufflepuff by the name of Nathan Finch-Fletchley walked down to the Great Lake from the castle. He dragged his feet through the leaves to hear the sounds they make bouncing off his feet and he occasionally jumped on a them to hear the crunching sound they made under the pressure of his feet.

It was only the second month of school and even with all the work he'd been given lately, Nathan was still as cheery as ever. Not many people understood how he could be so happy all the time, not his family, his friends or even himself actually. It was just part of his personality. It was also part of his personality to run through leaves for no reason. So as he approached the lake, Nathan picked up his pace and ran through the leaves, making them scatter all over the place and into the air for a few seconds from the breeze he created.

He watched them slowly float back down to the ground and let himself plop down on the ground near the lake. He stretched his legs out and leaned back, his head tilted upward so he could look at the tree that stood over him, giving him shade from the little bit of sun that was peeking out of the cloud above him. He stared straight up, examining the leaves before jumping up and climbing the tree, just to sit on a branch with an oddly colored leaf on it.

It's all cooling down Empty Re: It's all cooling down

In all honesty, Brina didn’t particularly have any desire to be surrounded by the splendor of nature or whatever some people called it. That and she was pretty sure the leaf piles probably had more slugs in it than leaves and had made a point of shoving them out of their way when she had considered a spot to sit. Wherever she had gotten the idea that their were slugs in every leaf pile no matter how small was unknown even to her, but she also didn’t happen to really care where she got the idea and just followed it’s popping into her head with simply following through with what she viewed as perfectly logical actions. But then again, she had decided that there had to be a Kraken in the lake during her 2nd year even though she had no basis to be making these claims. Really, they were all based off boredom and what-ifs. She didn’t believe there was a kraken in it anymore, but that didn’t mean she believed there wasn’t. It was more that she had no idea and she wasn’t about to jump in to have a go at finding out.

Leaves now dispersed, Brina moved to take a seat with no more thoughts about squished slug, as well as it’s guts and slime, sticking to her butt and again began to wonder why she decided to go out here in the first place, shooting a quick disinterested glance towards the lake before deciding she might as well as do something while she was out here. Granted, that something wouldn’t really be something she was supposed to be doing at that moment and instead something she usually let catch her interest when there weren’t any books within reaching distance or even a drawing. She, after shoving leafs aside out of her way to make sure the guts and slime she were sure were in the slugs that were most definitely there according to her wouldn’t touch her head, leaned back in anticipation of a nap. Because naps were nice.

Barely noticing Nathan, she puffed out her cheeks before let out a sigh and realizing not bringing anything to read with her had been a bad idea since she wasn’t particularly tired at the moment and she couldn’t fall asleep with her shoes on anyways. Well, she had before, but it didn’t happen easily and she usually woke up a lot from discomfort. So after a minute or two of being unwilling to admit that falling asleep was near impossible, she eventually pushed herself into a sitting position. Not like dirt was a good bed, anyways.
