For the second time in less than a month, an assassin has attempted to take the life of a Ministry official. The Ministry reports to us, through Brian Quinn, a Department of Law Enforcement official and husband of the Chief Warlock, that in the wee hours of the morning, Chief Warlock Khaat Lupin and her bodyguard were brutally attacked by a werewolf. Quinn further stated that her bodyguard sent distress signals to the Ministry and to the Lupins' own private protectors.
A skirmish ensued between the werewolf and supporters of the Chief Warlock. The werewolf managed to elude the fighters, and the Chief Warlock was rushed to St. Mungo's where she was taken to emergency surgery for what the hospital has described as "life threatening wounds."
She remained in surgery for several hours, and remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital, under heavy guard. There has been no word if the Minister himself knows about his daughter's condition or where he is or even what his condition is. We asked the question of Quinn who had no comment.
Quinn did not wish to speculate if the two assassination attempts were related but states that the aurors are looking for the suspect and are investigating the matter. He strongly advised the public to not approach the suspect, who is considered extremely dangerous.
