Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

The Plague and The Fire Empty The Plague and The Fire

New information about the fire?

As with the disappearance of the still missing Nemo Omara, the ministry has found out very little about the origin of the Diagon Alley fire. Admittedly, their investigation has been hampered by the lack of support by the Order of the Phoenix. But the families of the victims are demanding answers, so we decided to investigate on our own to find some answers.

I interviewed James Potter, seeker for the Falmouth Falcons (*cough*), member of the order, and witness to the attacks at Diagon Alley. Now, one can understand why James Potter, eldest son of Harry Potter, joined the cult organization The Order of the Phoenix. However, it seems like someone has forgot to tell Mr. Potter that He-who-must-not-be-named was killed by Ne'os Emof several years ago.

Having missed the chance to be the great hero of the Wizarding World, Mr. Potter is now trying his best to fix that mistake - by pretending that he and his friends are out there risking their lives for us fighting some invisible enemy. Also, just like the other Order members I have interviewed, Potter has a shocking amount of disdain for the Wizarding public.

But enough about James Potter, you want to know about the fire. The main questions I asked Mr.Potter about the fire was about Thaor Eldir. I found out earlier in my investigation that Eldir was not involved in dark arts, but was extremely skilled and practiced in them. Of all the victims of the fire, his body was the only one that the ministry did not find. During the interview, Mr.Potter gave me one very valuable piece of information: Mr. Eldir was a member of the Order of the Phoenix.

Now, I ask you not to assume anything, but to me it seem's like the fire, the kidnapping, and perhaps even the plague are connected, and the mastermind could be right in front of us… And speaking of the plague…

Plague Targeting Purebloods?

As with everything else, the ministry have not discovered much about the plague. But you demanded answers, so we sent the best investigator on the planet to find out more.

Unfortunately, I did not find out much. The origins of the plague remain a mystery, and we're about as close to inventing a cure for it as we are to creating a hair regrowing charm. However, after scanning the list of the most recent victims of the plague, I noticed something very strange… Whereas previously the plague had been indiscriminate in who it killed, the majority of the recent victims have been purebloods. Very strange indeed, considering purebloods only make about 2% of the Wizarding population.

We can gather some useful facts about the plague from this. First, it seems that it is currently affecting the people with most magical ability. As you know, purebloods have the most magical talent (1) which explains why they are being affected the most, followed by half bloods like you and I. This also explains why muggle-borns and muggles have not been affected by the plague.

It makes you wonder about the origin of the plague, who started it and why? Is this a plan by someone to wipe out all purebloods? A dark thought, and being christmas season, it is one that I will not entertain right now.
