Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

A Bit Too Much Empty A Bit Too Much

Post by Jack Kubin Fri Nov 02, 2012 12:17 am

Oh god. Oh dear god. Social interaction. Was it likely that this night would get ugly? He hoped not. Jack looked around the room quietly, his eyes darting from one table to the next. He stood in the corner of the magnificent Ball, not interested in socializing or any of the sort. He was fine where he was, in the far right corner of the floor, wearing his nice, smooth, black suit and black pants. He also wore a blue dress shirt underneath with a red tie, along with a Dark blue mask that just covered his eyes. He didn't try to wear anything fancy. He just was.

Jack looked at his tripwire that he put up between two tables. The string was clear, and almost unnoticeable, and it was tied to the legs of two table. It was a miracle the table wouldn't move if someone tripped over them, or else he'd have hell to pay. And Jack didn't want to get in too much trouble this year, it being his final year of Hogwarts. Jack picked at his sleeve, the button shining in the dim lights. He didn't like these kinds of parties. The loud, obnoxious ones that brought out the monsters inside people. Jack had definitely changed over the years.

A Bit Too Much Empty Re: A Bit Too Much

(Hope you don't mind if I join in!)

Faith felt pretty much out of the loop. She wasn't exactly one to show up at these things, and with the mask, well no one knew what to make of her. She wasn't the girl they thought she was, and she wasn't sure she liked it. The only thing they saw was how she looked. Nothing more, just her dress, her hair, the mask. It was as though the ball represented everything in society she tried to avoid.

There were a few people who had come with dates, who knew what the expect, had the evening planned out, but for people like Faith, she felt completely out of the loop. She didn't have a boyfriend, didn't have a date, didn't even have any friends she knew was going to go. It was just her.

So eventually she found herself towards a corner, not noticing the boy in the corner, nor his tripwire he had set up. So she walked, feeling the tripwire first on her dress, as she looked down she took a small step backwards, confused, unsure as to what she had just hit.

Crap. Well, a Trip wire wasn't the smartest of to pull. It was kind of cliché, to say the least. But he still went for it anyways, for some odd reason. He sighed quietly, before wringing his sleeves and wrists, his clothes not even wet in the slightest. His brown eyes shot to the female who was almost fooled by the trip wire. She looked about his age. Maybe in his year, or the one below, at the youngest. He couldn't really tell much else about her, because of the mask covering her face.

She wasn't the most hideous person here, he definitely saw worse tonight already, but again, she also wasn't the prettiest. She was... Average. Meh. Jack shifted his position in the corner, and pulled a small pouch of Bertie Bots Every Flavored Beans.

Faith took a step around the trip wire, her eyes darting to the boy in the corner, who looked overly bored and sighed, standing close but farther from him, glancing his way occasionally, before giving it up as a lost cause. He didn't seem interested in the slightest, and well, she wasn't really either, most people came here with dates, and didn't have to worry about the other people who they didn't know, unfortunately for Faith, she had no idea who anyone was, and didn't even know her own friends, even if they were there.

So Faith gave up, and walked off towards the punch bowl, her eyes straining to see properly through the mask, looking out for her friends, and moving on around the room, hoping tonight wouldn't be a wasted night.

Jack stared at the girl curiously. He popped a Jelly Bean in his mouth, and chewed it promptly, before he stopped, and his face tightened into a grimace. It tasted like Earwax. Jack pulled a Kleenex from his pocket, spitting the Jelly Bean into it. He rolled up the Tissue, and, looking around really quick, he stuffed it into the vase in the middle of the closest table. No Witnesses.

Jack pushed his way around the giggly females trying to get their male counterparts to do things to them. It was honestly not something Jack enjoyed about his generation. They were so.... physical. He wouldn't mind just being at least an arms distance from everyone, he really didn't.

Jack kept his eyes on the Trip-wire Girl. He coughed once, not purposely, and grimaced as the taste of the Earwax still resided in his mouth. He needed a different taste in his mouth. He popped another in his mouth, and chewed again. What the hell? This one was Elephant Droppings. They just couldn't really get any worse, could they?
