Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Transfiguration (Class 1) Empty Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Kingsley Shacklebolt Mon Aug 20, 2012 10:30 pm

Kingsley Shacklebolt didn't really consider teaching as one of his strengths. He had never really been good with kids. They never listened, and just talked on and on about pointless things, completely oblivious to what was happening around them. In reality, Shacklebolt had taken the Transfiguration job mostly as a way to get closer to the students. The headmaster seldom came in contact with the students, but a teacher on the other hand… He saw them quite often. This way, Shacklebolt would be able to personally see which students to keep an eye on.

In the mean time, he would teach his subject to the best of his ability. He had decided to start with the basics, simple switching charms.

Transfiguration (Class 1) Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Sunny Dyllan-Thomas Mon Aug 20, 2012 10:37 pm

Teddy liked to be early. Most classes, she sat in the back and observed the students around her, trying to pick up the thread to an interesting story. However, when it came to Transfiguration, she was all ears- and that wasn't a pun on the time she had accidentally cast a spell that sprouted four ears on her arm.

The young girl was very keen on finding new ways to disguise herself for her investigating and this year, she wanted to take it to the next step- Animangus. Therefore, she was intent on focusing her efforts in Transfiguration.

Transfiguration (Class 1) Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Anabelle Mulciber Tue Aug 21, 2012 12:57 am

She really didn't like most of the classes she took, but if there was one that could be considered her favorite it was Transfiguration. She liked being able to change the form of things with magic, and she knew that Transfiguration was where you needed to be to learn to be an Animagus. Not that it really mattered, she had Sophia to help her do that. And the older girl had already told her that she would help her become one, but she needed to know more about it to learn better.

Hitame still didn't remember much about anything, but Sophia had explained the basic things about her, with the help of her sister and some friends that Sophia said she had. With the information she got from them, she was fine for now, but she wanted to ti d out more about herself, things that the others didn't seem to know. She shook her head and walked into the Transfiguration classroom, saying a quick, "Good morning." to Headmaster Shacklebolt before heading to a seat near the back of the room as she was told was her favorite part of the rooms.

Transfiguration (Class 1) Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Amelia Macmillan Tue Aug 21, 2012 1:15 am

Amelia loved Transfiguration more than any other subject. She had always taken an interest in it, which had to do with the fact her mum was an Animangus. She wanted to be as good at Transfiguration as her mum though she knew it meant hours of work. It had helped her mum had let her start to read about Animagus over the summer. She knew she was lucky to have a mum like hers. To be honest she knew that only reason her mum was letting her read about Animagus was that she was the only one out of the four kids to take an interest in Transfiguration. Edgar failed his Transfiguation OWL, Claire was good but hated it and Drew doesn’t like it.

She was looking forward to this year school year. She was excited to start again with classes. She loved learning. She sat down by herself so she could focus on the class itself. She was detirmened to get an Outstanding on her Transfiguration OWLS, if her mum did it so could she.

Murray liked Transfiguration but wasn’t that good at it. He only took it because he had to, more like his father was forcing him to keep going with it until he at least got through his OWLS then his father told him his education was all his to either destroy or continue. This class would probably be one of the few he’ll drop next year. He spends so much time trying to understand the subject it was ridiculous.

He walked into the classroom at sat behind Amelia, the only one in the room in his year. He had only talked to her once or twice but she was always nice to him. He would never make a move on her since she was way out of his league. He tried to get focused but it wasn’t easy to do.

Transfiguration (Class 1) Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Liesl Dolohov Tue Aug 21, 2012 5:04 am

Oh, Merlin was smiling on her. It was first day back in classes and Liesl started with a goody; transfiguration. Not only was she awesome at it; she was awesome at it because she actually enjoyed the subject and didn't have to spend hours studying the concepts.

Huh, Macmillan was already here, of course. Liesl was still trying the niceness thing, but she just couldn't get past how vicious that Hufflepuff had become. She supposed it was true what they said about badger bites. She ignored the Hoofle and slipped in next to Teddy. At least she wouldn't suffer the indignity of sitting alone.

"Enjoy the feast?" she asked.

Transfiguration (Class 1) Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Transfiguration could be said to be her absolute favorite subject out of all the ones she was taking. Care of Magical Creatures was a close second though. Still, transfiguration was just something she was good at, like really good. Brandon had told her she got it from him, but she highly doubted it, he was too much of an idiot to actually be good at something like this. She always thought it was from her mother, but Liberty didn't like to brag if she was good at something or not.

She walked into the class and sighed when she saw who was there already. Hm ... two Gryffindors, two Ravenclaws, a Hufflepuff and another Slytherin - the Head Girl no less. Dani decided to take her chances and she chose to sit next to the Hufflepuff, she was a prefect wasn't she? Oh well, it didn't matter. As she settled into the seat next to the Hufflepuff girl, Dani smiled at her slightly and said, "Hey, you're Amelia Macmillan, right?"

Transfiguration (Class 1) Empty Re: Transfiguration (Class 1)

Post by Aidan Willson Tue Aug 21, 2012 1:45 pm

Aidan walked into the room, it was his first class at Hogwarts. He was so excited, it could have been any subject. Getting taught magic by a Professor at the famous school. He'd learnt bits and pieces from his parents, but it wasn't the same. As he looked around the room, he saw the boy from the train. Not the one who was nice and talked about muggle cooking with, the boy who thought he was a loser.

Well, Aidan couldn't sit there then. For some reason that guy seemed to dislike him. Aidan had no idea why, then again, he wasn't the best at judging social situations. He walked to the back of the room, and sat a few places down from a girl who he could tell was in Ravenclaw, though a few years older than him by the looks of it. He didn't want to intrude on anyone , so just kept to himself. He found it weird having classes with older students, but since the school had so few pupils at the time, it did kind of make sense, logically. Aidan just sat on his seat, waiting for the lesson to commence.

Liesl had joined her, causing Teddy to turn and briefly look the girl up and down, almost suspiciously. Increased contact this year insinuated the Head Girl really was interested in their alliance. Teddy tended to work alone, with her little side kicks giving her occasional boosts- usually literally.

But Liesl was serious about it, and Teddy could understand serious. Besides, what a glorious help, having the Head Girl on her side. "Oh, it was filling. I heard some interesting conversations too. Did you know that some people have had trouble buying portable swamps this year? All sold out! Weird, huh?" She laughed casually, supposing Liesl would understand exactly what sort of information she was handing over. Naturally, that had been found out when she snuck over to the Gryffindor table, but Liesl wouldn't mind. "Did you settle in well?"
