What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Awesome Needs Company Empty Awesome Needs Company

Post by Elliot "Ellie" Hansen Tue Jul 10, 2012 7:20 pm

Ellie was irritable.

She flopped about on the stoop outside of Flourish and Blotts, the books she had picked up forgotten at her heels. She rested her cheek in her cupped hand, her elbow pressing against her lace clad knee. She let out a might groan and sighed. All dressed and looking nice, made certain to have a fixed day out on the town and... and...

There was no one around! Ellie had cabin fever. She had seen Foster and Judd only all summer and, though she loved her best friends, she felt a need for the society of others! She needed more people to be around, she needed excitement. And it was nowhere to be found.

Awesome Needs Company Empty Re: Awesome Needs Company

Amelia had escaped life at her parents’ farm in Scotland for a day out. She could only stand so much of her family before she wanted to bash her head into a wall. Her father and mother had been rather concerned with the state of things, saying they feared history repeating itself. Which she knew was a good possibility so she wasn’t going to spend the rest of her possibly short life in her parents’ house.

She wondered down the streets of Diagon Alley looking for something exciting to do. Of course a few stray people who star not use to seeing a young girl dressed so sophisticated. She’d just role her eyes and keeps walking. She didn’t see how wearing a knee length brown flowed dress, white heals and a butterfly clip in her hair was so sophisticated but then again she made the outfit. She was comfortable with whom she was and she didn’t really care if other people thought she was too mature. She saw it as just being ready for the real world.

She stopped in front of Flourish and Blotts. She tried to think if there were any new books her mum had been talking about. Her mum and dad gave so much to her siblings and her she felt guilty not getting more for them. They weren’t spoiled by any means but sometimes it felt like too much. She wished she had put on a watch so she knew the time.

She sighed it was almost as boring here as it was at home. What did a girl have to do to have fun? She liked to party but yet she had never once cracked to peer pressure; it must be a Bones thing. She knew back in the day the first Amelia had also liked to party, how ironic. She hadn’t been in a part in so longer that she was starting to feel like she was antisocial, which she wasn’t but when she didn’t get enough social interactions she’d believe that she was, her mum would tell her to go out and then she’ll be fine once she got back. Which that had never failed yet but it might just do so today at the sight of the nearly deserted Diagon Alley.

Ellie had decided she was going to saw off her arm. She had run it over and over in her mind, and she was certain that was the absolute only way to be able to relieve the bordeom that had settled so heavily on her. It was like a wet, wool blanket., pinning her limbs to her sides and allowing her only to flail like a crazy woman. Though she remained still on the stoop of Flourish and Blotts, she was metaphorically trapped under a wet, wool blanket and had decided the best thing she could do was chop off her own arm.

She wished Foster was here. Not because she actually enjoyed the presence of her dork of a friend, of course not! But because she would absolutely love to see the look on his face when she would suddenly turn to him and ask in an unconcerned voice 'which arm do you think is my better arm, left or right?' Surely, he would ask why, rather than look and tell her. And she would tell him she had decided to saw off one of them, and she wanted to keep the one that looked better. She would kill to see that shocked expression that so often made his glasses fall straight off his nose.

Or perhaps it would be better to have Judd, the boy that was practically her brother. 'Judd. I have decided to saw off my arm.' 'I would assume sawing has a way of discouraging one halfway through. I would encourage you to consider an ax instead. Two clean swings of a trusted friend and the job is done.' 'Ah, how foolish I was. Thank you for your guidance.'

But no. Judd was on vacation and Foster was tied up at home- probably literally. His siblings seemed all innocent but she had heard the babysitting stories. She knew that if she were Foster Murison's sister, she would constantly have him tied up and locked in the closet. Thank Merlin for the fact that he was not her brother, though.

She looked up as the crowd thinned and she saw a stationary figure. She sat up straight and narrowed her eyes, thinking the girl was familiar. And then it struck her- she was. "Amelia?" Ellie called, looking at her. "Amelia Macmillan? Amelia!"

Amelia hadn’t quite been feeling normal lately, she felt like there was something she should be doing. She couldn’t explain it; it was like someone was telling her she was going about things wrong. She didn’t dare tell anyone what was going on in her head, it might scare some people. She wondered if there was something her parents weren’t telling her. She was so deep in thought she had ignored the fact she was standing in the middle of the street.

She awoke from her trance when she heard her name being called. She realized it was Ellie Hanson, a friend of hers. “That is I unless someone has stolen my identity which I would be very concerned about,” said Amelia. She knew that was a horrible joke due to the Polyjuice potion.

“So Ellie, haven’t seen you in a while. How are you been?” asked Amelia. Her mother had been on such a clean frenzy lately she hadn’t noticed the fact she was staring to smell like detergent all the time. She really had no idea of the reason but went along with it since her mum was normally right about those sort of things.

Amelia finally located Ellie and Ellie put a hand up next to her shining face and waved vigorously. Amelia cracked a joke and approached. The joke was a tad silly but Ellie had always, for some reason, gotten a kick out of Amelia. Amelia was like a girl who had tried to grow up too quickly and Ellie liked to imagine the inner kid was attacking the grown up inside her. Whatever it really was, Amelia, though almost three years younger than Ellie, was mature enough to get along with Ellie.

She approached and said Ellie had been absent from Amelia's views for awhile and Ellie nodded, yawning in the heat of the day. "Yeah," she said, the word catching the tail end of the yawn before she continued on, saying, "Just been hanging out and running around. I've been dragging Judd and Foster around the world." She smirked a little. Everyone who knew one of the fearsome threesome knew the other two.

Amelia asked how Ellie had been and Ellie groaned out the words, "Bored as hell, I've been! I've just noticed that nothing around here serves to entertain the magical youth." She stood up as though she had suddenly become an advocate for this issue and opened her mouth to deliver a rallying speech. Instead, she said, rather lamely, "It really sucks."

Amelia smiled brightly, she knew that Judd and Foster were Ellie's friends. She had heard of them before from Ellie. She couldn't remember too much about them at the moment but knew it was useless knowledge at the moment. It would only be an issue if Ellie asked her to recall something she had told her about them, but that wouldn't happen, she didn't believe.

Amelia knew what Ellie was talking about. The wizarding community did lack activities for the magical youth. Unless there was a concert at the Leaky Cauldron there was nothing to do. Then it came to her, a party, it was a perfect idea. It would relieve the bored everyone was feeling.

"We could always plan a party. Invite a few people and such," said Amelia.

Amelia presented the answer.

It was such an obvious, simple answer, and the look on Ellie's face must have portrayed that notion, for her mouth opened a bit and she blinked a few quick blinks. The subtext was obvious... oh. Ellie had been thinking so much bigger that such a simple answer had been hidden from her and it wasn't until she was spoon fed the idea that she could realize it was the perfect thing.

"Of COURSE!" Ellie said, hopping up so she was standing before Amelia. "I mean, duh! Why is it that you figured it out before me? I'm supposed to have the 'wit beyond measure'." She grinned. "That's great! I mean, all we need is a place, a means of inviting people- Hmm, I think the place is going to be a pain in the arse, huh."

Amelia just shrugged. It didn't seem like thoughtful answer to her. It was so simple but yet so effective. She wondered if her parents would let her throw a party at their house. But then again there was the option of her brother's flat. She wondered how many people could fit into her brother's flat and if there was anywhere on the Macmillan property she could get away with a party and not get caught.

"We could use my house, or my brother's flat or I can try to find somewhere well hidden on my family's property. But we are running the risk of my parents interrupting if we do it at my house. By brother could care less long as we don't trash his flat. He just got it so he rather not trash it yet," she said.

She had no idea what to do about invites. She supposed the owl post system to get them out. But who to invite? She had no ideas.
