Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Miseria knew from the beginning of the very first schoolyear that she’d visit the Shrieking Shack one good day.
This place was so dramatic in many ways and scary at the same time. But everyone knew already that those legends about those ghosts weren’t true. It was Remus Lupin who howled many years ago here and scared the hell out of people.
Before leaving the school, Miseria thought about the same thing. Scaring people. Although eventually wizards would find out who it was, and so she left the idea at the school. She’ll use those strange explosives that she bought later.

Sometimes she wondered why students were visiting the Shack. She knew that some of them were still afraid of that place. Bravery, of course, wasn’t the reason why Miseria actually got her lazy arse up and went for a ’walk’ before running off the schoolgrounds. She was curious, as always, and she really wanted to see what was the old house holding in itself. Mis never got her hopes too high. The house was long abandoned after all.

The streets were empty so Miseria didn’t even bother to make herself little bit more invisible than she already was. She already wearing black clothes and she was moving like a shadow; quickly and quietly.

She entered the Shack, and frowned when after the first steps all the dust flew into the air, and she was forced to cover her mouth and nose with her napkin. She could even taste the dust over the material. Frowning a bit, she looked at the door and considering with herself few seconds, she eventually closed the door, and carefully made few steps ahead. It was dark in the old house, and the floor board was probably so rotten that even with one wrong step she’d crash through it.

Graduating from Hogwarts hadn't been as exciting as Scorpius had expected. For seven years he had dreamed of getting out, and now, he wished he was back there. He missed the castle, his friends and heck, he even missed the teachers. Sometimes. He longed to go back, if even for a visit, but visitors were not allowed in for some stupid reason, and therefore Scorpius had spent the day at Hogsmeade, where a couple students had come for their Hogsmeade weekend. However, it was past dawn now, anyd Scorpius found himself sitting alone and watching the castle as the sun set.

Scorpius had always gotten what he wanted, nothing ever stood in his way, and right now, he wanted to get into Hogwarts somehow, if just for a quick visit. He would be caught no doubt, but he was a Malfoy and they wouldn't do anything to him. The problem was getting in the castle in the first place. Suddenly then, he remembered the passageway. A passageway rumoured to be under the whomping willow, and leading out to the Shrieking Shack. Scorpius had never taken it, but if students snuck out of the castle via the tree, then people could also sneak in. It was quite a crazy plan, but disregard for rules was in his genes, he was a Slytherin after all. And anyway, if he failed, he could still check out the passageway and the haunted house itself. It was a wonder how in seven years Scorpius had never mustered up the courage to go into a house that probably wasn't even haunted in the first place.

Scorpius walked up to the Shack and paused, before mustering up some courage and opening the door. He entered and lit his wand with a lumos spell. Being able to do magic outside the castle was probably the only good thing about graduating, he reflected dully. Although not much of a coward, he had to admit that he was getting a few shivers as he moved deeper into the house. A creak alerted him, but it was nothing, and he continued his search. Surely it was downstairs? He entered the kitchen of the house but then heard a noise from the entrance room and quickly pointed his wand to the intruder. "Who are you?" he said, clearly frightened. It couldn't be a student, they weren't allowed out at these times..

Miseria wondered why she hadn’t used her wand yet. She was afraid to go any further for there were too many dark spots on the floor that were clearly holes. And falling down and breaking her bones was the last thing on her ’need to do’ list.
Mis ran her fingers through her hair and took another deep breath, thanking god and her napkin for not letting the dust enter her mouth, and therefore affect her lungs. While doing that, she also assured herself that the only reason why her wand was still in her side pocket was that she didn’t want anyone on the streets to see her, although the place was actually deserted.

Carefully, girl took another step and she almost jumped when she heard the floor criecking under her feet. Damn it! She cursed in her mind. Her hand with napkin almost slipped away from her face as she was almost scared to death.
Pull yourself together, girl! You’ve been through much more than that! Miseria reminded herself however it wasn’t working exactly the way she hoped it would. She didn’t feel any braver nor did she feel the urge to go further anymore. It was better to leave now. It was almost amazing how the other part of her agreed with that idea, although she really wanted to look around.

Suddenly, when she heard other footsteps and a question that was adressed to her, Miseria turned herself around and therefore stepped on the wrong spot. She heard how something cracked and one moment later hufflepuff was holding strongly onto the floor. She almost fell through the floor! And all of that because of this stranger! Miseria got slowly up and turned herself at the young man. “Frankenstein’s Monster,“ she replied wryly while looking at her clothes. Her beautiful black clothes! They were all covered in dust! Even her face and hands were dirty now.

Slowly his eyes adjusted and he realized that he was standing in front of a girl. A Hogwarts student, clearly. I wasn't scared, he assured himself, though the fast beating of his heart didn't really back up that claim. As the shock dimmed away, gradually his fear went away and was replaced by annoyance. "What are you doing here?" he asked the girl curiously as she stood up again, him not bothering to help her up. "Its late, shouldn't you be at the castle?" Ironic, really, that he was lecturing the girl about being outside the castle while he was trying to sneak inside it.

He smiled slightly at her remark and dimmed the wand slightly. "Right, well, you should probably get going, there are ghosts in here," he said with a smirk, going back to his old self again. "And dust." He then slowly turned away from the girl, but then looked at her again, realizing something. "Hey, do I know you?" he asked, wondering. He might have seen her before at Hogwarts, but Scorpius recalled he had actually met her, but couldn't put a name to the face.

Miseria’s head leaned on the right as she looked at the figure right infront of her. Something told her that she had seen him somewhere. Probably at Hogwarts. And by his voice she could tell that he wasn’t really much older than she was. How... surprising!
For an instant moment she was afraid to see an old man, but then again – what would an old wizard do to her? Or even a muggle who was also curious and came here to see what’s really going on in this house.
“I just wanted to ask the same thing,“ she replied, raising her eyebrows at him. Miseria sighed quietly. The castle... oh god... Even if she’d arrive too late there, she was always able to get herself a room in the Three Broomsticks and stay over. No one would notice her absence.

When he looked over her, Mis smirked and looked at her clothes again. Dusty. Too dusty. She took out her wand and with a single spell she was all clean again. Then, murmuring „Lumos“ she raised her hand enough to see the strangers face. Now she was more than sure that they have met. “I’m not afraid of ghosts,“ Miseria replied as she walked carefully over the floor and entered, once again, the ’living room’. Suddenly, she turned herself around to look at his face again.

“Maybe...“ She frowned, trying to memorize where she had seen him. “You’re a Malfoy, aren’t you?“ she asked suddenly with a warm smile appearing on her face.
